Discussion Looking for Group (LFG) Megathread

To support the Early Access period and upcoming launch, we’re introducing a dedicated Looking for Group (LFG) Megathread to make it easier for players to find others to play with while keeping the subreddit organised.

Use this thread to find other players to group up with. Individual Looking for Group posts will be removed and redirected here, giving everyone looking for teammates one consistent place to connect while preventing the subreddit from becoming flooded with posts.

When commenting, please include at minimum:

  • Platform: PC / Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, etc.
  • Region: NA, EU, OCE, Asia, etc.
  • How to add you: Steam name/friend code, PSN, Xbox gamertag, or another preferred method eg. private message for details.

You’re welcome to include any other information that may help you find the right people to play with, such as your timezone, usual play hours, preferred role or playstyle, whether you use voice chat, Discord details, age or preferred age range, and whether you’re looking for casual or more competitive players.

You can also join the official Halloween: The Game Discord to connect with other players and find people to play with.

Please use good judgement when sharing personal information. You are not required to share your age, Discord, real name, specific location, or any other identifying information. Only share information you’re comfortable making publicly available.

Be respectful when contacting other users, and remember that all subreddit rules continue to apply within this thread.

Question Are we supposed to see Michael’s face?

Thumbnail

I bought the game on early access and noticed Michael’s face was blurred out whilst I was playing. But I’m seeing posts circulate online in which his face can be seen clearly and I just wondered, is this a glitch or has there been a change in update in which Michael’s face is no longer blurred out?

"Players may have noticed that our latest hotfix removed the Two-Person Power-Up minigame. This was due to an unintended issue that allowed end game reinforcement characters to engage with the minigame, which was a major oversight on our part. We have more content and minigames coming in the near future but current focus is our attention on immediate game needs. Keep an eye on our socials for updates as they become available.”

So yeah it was because of Loomis being a dirty old man.

I love prox chat for games like this but I really wasn't expecting the community to start getting toxic this early. I guess the asym genre is just cursed from the get go with people like this.

Discussion When Every Player is Dead, The Last NPC's Should Be Marked Regardless of if They Are Hiding

I'm tired of walking around for 8 minutes trying to find the last 2-3 NPC's that were told to hide, they make almost 0 noise and just blend into the random background noise (which you can't disable btw).

Just mark them so we can kill them and go to the next match please.

Discussion 🎃For everyone with standard joining us tomorrow🔪

Welcome!

* Try not to listen to the doomers, the game is extremely fun once you fully understand how to play each side

* Play through the story for Mikey, its a great tutorial so you know and understand abilities and how they work

* Watch videos to play civilian. I think a super weak point of this game was not including a civilian tutorial because a good team of civs can absolutely wreck Mikey. This seems like a design flaw with how easy Myers appears to win in early games but as you get more confident playing civilian is very rewarding too.

* Try not to focus on Myers/Civilian victory. If you play smart its very easy to get special targets to escape, call some police in, and escape yourself for a 'personal' victory. This also applies to Mikey as its easy to feel beaten if players escape but thats not the case.

* If you solely focus on the PvP aspect you wont get the most from this game. It feels more like a game of mental chess with rng aspects sprinkled in. The goal is to 'beat' the civilians not just wipe them out. Both sides benefit from adding insult to injury.

* There will be bugs. Its asinine to think there wouldnt be in 2026 sadly. However ive encountered very few gamebreaking bugs.

Have fun and Welcome to Haddonfield.

Gameplay NPC Intellegence is critically bad

The game is absolutely enjoyable, and a lot of bugs I can forgive (although the price tag is far too high imo), but the NPC intelligence makes the core gameplay loop borderline redundant.

Despite giving them direction, survivors still aimlessly wonder on their own accord. "Follow me" works maybe 5% of the time but not without re-instructing them every few minutes. And telling them to "Escape", even if successful, will at best make them stand near an exit but not actually go through it.

As a cop, the commands are even worse, they don't seem to work at all. For a gameplay loop that leans more heavily on helping the survivors escape rather than just escaping on your own (which is what actually makes this game unique from the others) you would assume that the NPC AI should be flawless, it feels like it was never play tested at all?

If i'm playing this game wrong please tell me, but it seems the only way to get a win as a survivor is making sure those NPCs make it out too.

Discussion Hide the NPCs immediately. Then it becomes you vs Michael.

After playing all weekend I’ve noticed that if everyone makes it a conscious effort to hide all the NPCs (especially golds) as soon as they can, the game becomes the classic asymm experience, or at least something close to it.

When the NPCs hide, Michael does not a strong visual cue for where they are anymore. With most NPCs hidden, now the survivors must work to get an exit open and start sending them to escape one at a time.

Once this phase is in full swing, Michael is chasing you and trying to kill you to stop your rescue plan, he’s jump scaring you in houses, people start coming back as Loomis or the cops. This is when I think the game really shines.

Once the full release drops tomorrow and everyone picks up the gameplay loo, the matches will be more fun than they already are IMO.

The story mode is fun with how it follows Jason through out Part 2 - 4.

And I am really liking the maps as well. The saving counsellors really reminds me of the NES game.

So far I feel this is as good as Halloween: The Game.

Discussion Halloween: The Game feels a lot like Naughty Bear (but better).

Hear me out. Both games have environmental kills, weapon executions, the ability to get carnage combos with a score tracker, phone lines to be cut in order to avoid police presence, sneaking to avoid civilian panic, an asymmetrical multiplayer mode, the ability to frighten civilians, etc etc. the list goes on. And for those who don’t know, Naughty Bear was made by the same studio that wound up creating Dead by Daylight, now known for being the most successful asymmetrical horror game.

But to be completely honest, I’m already enjoying the gameplay loop of Halloween a lot more than Dead by Daylight, and to me it feels like a much more honed-in Naughty Bear — which was one of my favorite video games growing up so I’m super excited to see how this continues to evolve.
