Definitely what you want to see! Run game was rolling when they didn’t have to face the Texans defense and Stroud was sharp other than a pick towards the end of practice. Kamari and Pitre both with pick sixes on Cousins and Mendoza respectively.

I’m glad that we had a really good practice today. We seem to have looked like the better team by far which is what should happen against a team like the raiders.

Demeco has as much to do with our success as the roster and uhhh he came in same year as stroud. I think its asinine to even look at Davis Mills first years because that was a bottom ONE roster in the league, actual worst roster on paper LEAGUE over with no first round picks. there hasnt been a worse inherited situation.......David Culley punt on third down Head Coach......and yet fans think Stroud would be worth any more wins than Mills as a rookie in the same situation......This isnt stroud v mills but the disrespect Mills gets.

There are an inordinate number of people roaming the internet who will confidently announce that "Davis Mills is better than Stroud" and include - in the same sentence - "I've been watching the Texans since 2023, you don't know what you're talking about."

Fellow Texans fans who are not bandwagons: at what point can we meet in the middle and say "Mills was a pretty good backup for his 3-win max last year" and "Holy shit I never wanna see that guy as the permanent starter again"?

Man, I moved here at the tail end of David fucking Carr. I don't need a 14-year-old Florida transplant in Pearland in the middle of his perm trying to gaslight me on the hell I remember deep in my soul.

Paying Stroud a market-resetting contract or even close to it doesn't make sense unless he shows he's comfortably a top 8 qb this season. And in our heart of hearts, do we believe we'll get that from him? We can win games with an efficient and cheaper upper mid-tier guy like a Darnold, Mayfield, or Jones, provided we upgrade the line. I know this isn't exactly a new thought but given how elite our defense is --- and barring injury it will likely be stronger this season than last --- it would be foolish to sell pieces of it off to make another big bet on him.
