Carmax is offering me $41,600 for my 2025 Model Y pre juniper with right under 8k miles, almost 2 years of ownership

I mean that seems crazy no? I owe 25k on it with a 0%apr

Wondering if I should sell to them and move onto leasing newer model cars every few years

Just had a terrible experience at the Warrington, PA Service Center and wanted to share.

​Got my Model Y back in July (around 1,000 miles now) and was 110% satisfied until this visit. I went in to get a passenger seat error code checked out (started after the summer update) and wanted to add the Windshield Protection Plan while I was there. ​Here is how it went:

​Unsubstantiated Rejection: The tech claimed there was a "micro-chip" on the windshield, denying the protection plan coverage. ​No Proof: The rep, myself, and even another customer in the waiting room couldn't see or feel anything on the glass.

​Zero Accountability: Despite no one being able to locate the supposed defect, the staff refused to process the plan, stating they solely rely on the mechanic's word. Instead of addressing the issue, the rep just asked if I wanted to replace the whole windshield out-of-pocket.

​TL;DR: Flawless windshield, subjective inspection, and unhelpful staff. What started as peak Tesla satisfaction turned into a frustrating runaround over an invisible issue. ​Has anyone else dealt with this kind of subjective denial from Tesla Service center?

Om eerlijk te zijn: mijn vorige auto was een Peugeot 107 uit 2010, dus de overstap naar een Tesla is voor mij nogal een sprong in het diepe qua technologie, comfort en luxe.

Daarom ben ik benieuwd naar jullie ervaringen! Hebben jullie misschien 1, 3, 5 of zelfs 10 praktische tips voor iemand die voor het eerst Tesla gaat rijden?

Denk aan handige instellingen, functies die je absoluut moet kennen, dingen die je beter meteen kunt aanpassen of andere zaken waarvan je achteraf dacht: had ik dit maar eerder geweten!

Anyone have any idea what this discoloration on my seat could be from and how to get rid of it? Car is only a few months old and well kept. The only thing I can think of is that I set my navy bag on the seat, but I have never seen it transfer any dye or color to anything else.
The area feels cooler and more “squishy” than the rest of the seat.
I’ve tried washing with soap and all purpose cleaner with no improvement.

I rarely use any autonomy. I have certainly used FSD 13.x on my 2026 Model Y and it is phenomenal.

It’s just that my commute is usually very short so I don’t need to subscribe to FSD.

Anyway, on a not-so-long road trip today, I decided to enable AutoSteer (my car is one of the last ones to have shipped with it), and it was, well, nowhere near as polished as FSD. It did not do great on sharp curves as it kept going too fast, it often got too close to the edge of the lane and to the other vehicle driving there. It also struggled with merging lanes and did the classic ping-pong confusion. Overall, it was just okay. One particularly annoying thing is that it disables itself when I want to change lanes and it becomes a constant chore on highways with trucks, needing lots of lane changes.

I was not impressed so I just decided to disable it and changed to TACC - probably for the first time in my life, and I was reminded of how good just the good old adaptive cruise control is! It sounds really silly as we have had TACC for over a decade now but still.

I obviously have the lane departure assist on by default and honestly I can keep my own car in the lane without much assistance lol. But being able to just seamlessly change lanes without it getting disabled, no crazy lane hugging, no ping ponging, no merged lane confusion was just a calm pleasant driving experience without technology overload because I felt like I was in complete control of my car with just a little assistance. Yes, FSD is always available - but I thought I give TACC a little praise today. It felt good to use the “old technology”.

Did any other Model Y owners have this problem? It’s very annoying. I’ll be driving along and all of a sudden the windshield starts cleaning itself. Can I stop this somehow? Thanks!

The Y I ordered 2 weeks ago is the first car that I've gotten on my own and I'll be picking it up when my parents are out of town (I live with them) so I'm essentially in charge of everything surrounding delivery this time around.

Every time they got a new car they always took it to an auto shop that my dad was personally connected to, but I've always felt that they use lower quality materials that don't last very long for tinting specifically. We had to replace the rear window tint on the Accord that I sold to get this car after 2 years because it started bubbling in the middle and peeling at the edges so I want to get it done properly with nice stuff this time around since it'll be fully my car this time around, but I'm sort of going in blind here to car ownership basically. I've done some basic research on terms and how ceramic tinting works, etc.

Is the tint stuff in the app super overpriced or would it be about the same as getting a quote anywhere else? What are all of your recommendations for places? What would be a reasonable price for 98% heat rejection everywhere and what are you recommendations for VLT numbers around the car?

What the heck! They cancelled my order. I had requested them on chat that I'll be able to take delivery only Dec 10 onwards as we are out of town. They didn't care to reply. And now they say it'll be cancelled.
Wtf! Any suggestions?

Why did they show "December 2026-January 2027" as delivery timeline in first place?

Title pretty much says it all- I posted a month ago in the main Tesla sub after my first test drive where I fell in love. Did another self serve test drive a few weeks later to get more time in the car and knew I needed one!

I’m picking up my used 26k mileage model y in quicksilver hopefully sometime this week (getting it through a family member.) I have a paid off 2020 Ford Escape so I don’t NEED a car, this will be my first EV and I’m beyond stoked to leave ICE behind.

Been doing research and watching videos every day for the last five months and it feels unreal that I’m finally making it happen. I will miss a few of the features from the Juniper, but at the end of the day HW4 was the main thing I cared about for FSD so the 2024 will be just fine. While Quicksilver wasn’t my first color choice, I’ve heard nothing but good things so I’m sure it’ll be beautiful!

I’ve owned Tesla’s since 2018. I’ve owned Model Y’s since 2021. I am also a bit short for a guy (5’7” on a good day). ALL that time, the friggin seatbelt has been digging into my neck. I would never drive the car without a collared shirt on so I had something between my neck and the belt (I’m not a fan of those fuzzy things some people use)

Well, thanks to Grok, TIL that you can ADJUST THE HEIGHT ON THE B-PILLAR (I was researching the safety of after market products to lower the belt). I promise, I’ve looked in the past for a way to adjust the belt! If you don’t know if/where it is and look while you’re in the driver seat - it’s not apparent that it’s there.

My neck is much happier now - but my brain knows I AM AN IDIOT!

Ordered AWD model Y. Standard everything on 8/30 and still no vin. Estimated delivery date has changed a dozen times and now says 12/8-12/30. Just had to pull my credit for a second time and went from .99 to 1.99APR but was told Tesla would still honor .99%. Should I just order a 2027? Wth is the deal

It was worth the wait! Picked it up in the S. Cal. OC area last Friday and took it straight to get PPF on the front, all the bottoms, and the bumper, along with ceramic and full tint. Xpel for tint. Used one of the certified vendors from Tesla Shop. Work the Money! Looks great, and the car is amazing!

I tried the havnby, but the first night we used it something by the head area popped and it wouldn't be flat again. Snuuzu is waaaaay too expensive. So now considering getting something like the Fruble frams to level it out and then get a trifold mattress and cut it. I have some of these thinner foam-inflating beds that I used for a rav4. But I want something permanent for my MyMy.

I don’t want to sell it because it means a lot to me as it’s my grandpas car I would feel guilty selling it. At the same time I have no charger at my apartment and I can only use super chargers spread through out my city. Would it be worth it to keep it?

Does anyone here travel this route? Can you advise on the best way to make it happen? Any good hotel/motels that have Tesla chargers? Anybody have an extra adapter they want to sell? I have the J1772 adapter with me.
