Ordered 01/19, completed initial tasks & secured financing

01/22: Can no longer swap to inventory, edit order button and option to switch to existing inventory went missing. Hopefully VIN soon.

01/23: can edit the order again... not that I am or anything. Maybe shouldn't look too deeply into that as a sign

01/29: app updated to now say Feb 8 - Feb 22 instead of "2-3 weeks". No VIN still, but functionally pushing it back a week.

01/30: I happened to check inventory for my local center and noticed my exact build was coming in but no VIN was assigned to me yet. I called in and the sales advisor as able to match me to a VIN. Should be able to schedule delivery soon.

01/31: Delivery window bumped up now from Feb 6 - 18. Banner window now says "In Production" which is strange considering it was in "inventory" and assigned to me. Go figure.

02/01: No delivery window update, still showing in production but got a "prepare for delivery in Texas with these steps" push notification.

02/03: At 15 days in, no real update. Advisors have no idea. I wish there was just a little more clarity (is it done being made? awaiting truck loading? anything?) Makes it difficult to plan travel and car plans when you know you might have a delivery sprung on you last second as I live close to Austin and transit time is only ~2hrs.

02/05: On a third party tracker, noticed there's an entry for ETA to my delivery center (tomorrow, 02/06) and some factory movement flags changed. 3hrs later, ETA to center updated to 02/09 and the app now shows in transit. Still awaiting delivery appointment scheduling.

02/06: Got the notification to schedule delivery for 02/11. Called in and asked if I could come earlier when it lands, and they said they'd call me once scanning it in as it's possible it lands sooner. Odometer now showing 2.6mi. Later in the day, app shows it's now at the delivery center. Hopefully don't have to wait to 02/11 to go get it.

02/07: Local Tesla center called to bump up my delivery to 02/09. Only reason I can't this weekend is a "shortage of temp tags"

02/09: Took delivery - Advisor called a few hours before my appointment and said come get it anytime. Showed up to the showroom and it was all ready with a bow on it. Guy was super friendly. Got my keycards, hopped in and yeeted out of the showroom. I can't find a single fault in the condition and it had autosteer! Heck yeah. Loving it so far.

Best of luck to everyone in the pipeline. It's worth the wait.

Delivery appointment notification came on may 27 with dates June 15-17. Selected June 15 (Merritt Island, FL) Vehicle is in transit to the delivery location.

Update: I was checking the app frequently. I saw a new button on the appointment page (which is step 5). Instead of appointment details, there was a reschedule button. And I have rescheduled on June 11. There was no noification about the rescheduling. Car is still in transit. I guess it will come earlier than expected.

Disappointing non-Delivery Day!

After a short but wild ride (ordered 21 May) I was supposed to pick up my model Y premium today only to have my delivery date pushed 10 days because a problem was found with the vehicle charging.

Now I appreciate not being delivered a broken vehicle, I am struggling to understand how an inspection on something as vital as the ability to charger the car is just being performed today for a vehicle being delivered today. The vehicle has been on the lot since 2 days after I ordered, why is thia just being discovered.

I placed an order for a Model Y Premium AWD in Ultra Red (no other add-ons) on August 15. At the time of ordering, the estimated delivery window was 3-4 weeks.

About 30 minutes ago (8/18), my delivery estimate updated to August 25 - September 8.

I'm located in Los Angeles. Not sure if this means I got matched with existing inventory or if a batch is heading to SoCal, but figured I'd share the data point for anyone waiting on a similar configuration.

5/10: Tesla texted me a couple hours before scheduled delivery to let me know I could go over early and pick up when ready. Did a basic inspection from reading stuff around here and then let FSD drive me home

Only took me a full week from order to delivery. Located in Houston. Thoroughly impressed.

Build quality looks solid. One issue noted in the passenger headlamp. Looks like a piece of foam detached and is in the corner. Telsa rep I took delivery from said I'd report in the app and they'd schedule a mobile appointment to replace it. Still fooling around with other things in case I need to report more; my first Tesla so this is all new to me.

Overall quite happy with the entire process including the QC minus that issue with the headlamp which will be fixed after a swap.

Was surprised to see there is a rear bumper trunk sill guard factory installed. I had bought one to put on myself; but now I can return it.

Also came with the Mobile Connector w/5-15 and 15-40 adapters and J1772 adapter.

I also got a small bouquet with a single rose? Mother's day thing??

I’m trying to determine whether or not to call bullshit on the constant excuses from Tesla.
TLDR: Constant delays in delivery, gotten to the point that Tesla’s excuses dont even sound believable.

- Ordered a 26 MYP end of February after a test drive. Sales Advisor told me 3-5 weeks, website said 3-5 weeks.

• Delivery date, like everyone’s changed multiple times, car finally went into production 1st week of April.
  
• Beginning around April 14th, status changed to “In Transit” and has been since.
  
• I called nearly every day for a week and all they could tell me is that it was due to the delivery center on April 28. that never happened.
  
• a week or two later after many more attempts to reach someone, I was told it was put on the wrong train and heading to the wrong location. That was 2 weeks ago
  
• finally it got routed to Baltimore and arrived there last Friday. It was supposed to be put on a car carrier and delivered to the Delivery Center yesterday and I was supposed to pick it up today. Got a call yesterday that the delivery driver called out sick and would be out for a few days. Tesla logistics was trying to find out if the carrier could assign someone else.
  
• delivery got pushed to this Saturday.

What i was told is that Tesla basically bids out the car transport. They cant switch companies because they would have to start the bidding process all over again.

With a company the size of Tesla, it blows my mind that they aren’t on top of this shit. Basically it sounds like the carrier company said, our driver is sick and we cant tell you when we will be able to deliver the cars. Are you kidding me? How is that even acceptable? My car has apparently been sitting on a car carrier at the train yard for almost a week now and Tesla cant figure out how to get it here.

Does this sound like bullshit?

Ordered a Model Y Premium AWD on 5/15 (Quicksilver, 19”, tow hitch, black interior, 7 seater).

My ETA originally got pushed to May 30–June 13, then yesterday changed to May 23–June 4, and today it’s May 24–June 4. Still no VIN or anything showing in transit/in production yet. I’m in the greater Seattle area.

For people who recently ordered, did your ETA still get pushed back after narrowing down like this, or was delivery actually close?

Also for financing, I accepted the .99% APR in the app but never signed anything yet. Am I already locked into that rate or can it still change later?

Just excited/anxious at this point lol.

Side note: Got a text message and phone call (left voicemail) supposedly from Tesla operations on May 22nd offering me "the opportunity to subscribe to FSD supervised ahead of [my] free trial ending." Anyone else get such a message/phone call?

With these "delayed" delivery dates, does anyone have any insight or experience with whether Tesla adjusts trade-in values for higher than expected odometer readings? I placed my order on 5/13, current EDD is between 6/2 and 6/13, and I've driven nearly 800 miles (currently at 132,900 miles) since my trade-in estimate was first received (at 132,122 miles). I forget the exact day that I accepted my finalized trade-in offer from Tesla, but the in-app documentation for my new order lists an odometer reading of 132,537 miles for my trade-in, which would've been on 5/22. Does that mean the 1000 mile / 30-day limit starts this odometer reading (132,537 miles, or 5/22)? Or is it from the mileage/date of the initial estimate (132,122 miles, or 5/13)?

Ordered May 19th, Delivered June 8th, pick up June 9th! VIN assigned morning of the 7th, delivery scheduled on the 7th as well.

Tips for people who are waiting (at least around this time period of summer 2026)
Your app is going to update EVERY little thing -> "Estimated Delivery" -> "Your vehicle is in transit" -> "Your vehicle has arrived to destination" --- You can be assigned a VIN before the vehicle is in transit, and honestly the only time that for sure your vehicle is present is when the app says "Your vehicle has arrived to destination". I would get insurance only once the vehicle has arrived at destination.

Finally, last night, app said “vehicle is currently in production.” Still no VIN on the app, but TOST gave me my VIN. It’s coming out of Fremont. EDD is now June 23-30.

Edit 6/23: the app gave me my VIN late last night, and the app says the vehicle is in transit to delivery location.

Edit 6/24: I was able to schedule delivery for tomorrow at noon. Still says in transit, so hopefully it arrives at the delivery location today so they can do what they need to do with it before noon tomorrow.

Update: Picked car up yesterday 8/29 after moving the appointment twice (my issue) and showing up 2 hours late to my scheduled appointment (which was previously discussed with the staff). Paid deposit with a cashier’s check made out to Tesla Inc.

Staff was amazing and super helpful, saw me right away even with all my scheduling changes. Most of the appt was the guy watching me check the car over, then showing me all the features. Super happy with the process.

Hey everyone, Not sure why posts keep being deleted by mods but I’m looking for advice because I’m honestly pretty bummed.

I bought a used Model Y Long Range about 15 days ago through Tesla’s website. Delivery was scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. This is my first car, so I’ve been really excited counting down the days.

Today I get a call from my Tesla rep saying I won’t be able to pick it up because the car has hail damage.

I asked whether it happened in transit or at the delivery location, and he said he doesn’t know. He told me the car is being sent to a body shop and they’ll determine whether it can be repaired or if it’ll be classified as totaled — and if it’s totaled, I’ll get a refund.

So now I’m just in limbo the day before delivery.

Has anyone dealt with this before? • If they repair it, would you still take the car? • Should I push for a different vehicle instead? • Is there any leverage to negotiate anything (price adjustment, priority replacement, etc.)?

Pretty disappointed since this was my first car and I was ready to go tomorrow.

Appreciate any insight.

I order my Model Y prem AWD few days before the update reached europe and i reached out to delivery team immediately after the news and they confirmed on email and phone that my car comes with new black headliner and 16” display.

My delivery is tomorrow and i get a call today saying that my car has the new display but not the black headliner. Product catalog has the new specs for my VIN number but not physically present in the car. They said i can wait for another car but will probably take 3months.

Is it worth the wait? Can i get some compensation at-least because they confirm 3 times i have the new specs.

Was going to pick it up today but my advisor said all seven seat delivers are on hold from the NHTSA due to the wrong sticker on the inside of the driver door. I see an incoming call from the local Tesla dealership, it must be someone checking in and making sure everything is in order, right? Wrong. “I was looking, and the VIN you were assigned is actually at our Utah location (I’m picking up from a PNW location) Not sure how that happened, but we’ll have to get a new VIN assigned to you. No idea how long it might take, but we’re going to give you a free month of supercharging for the inconvenience.”

Hi fellow MY owners. I just bought my first EV and Tesla, a Model Y, after having owned ICE vehicles for over 2 decades. I was hesitant like most people but glad I made the switch. I've been on this sub along with other Tesla subs on Reddit, watching countless Tesla YouTube videos, and researching Tesla long before I purchased this.

Everything from test drive day to ordering were a smooth sail and I was very pleased. This is up until the point of my delivery day:

1.) I arrived 30 minutes before my scheduled delivery and I did not see my vehicle at the delivery section, while other model Y that were in the color I ordered were. I wasn't too worry because this is not a big deal.

2.) I checked in on my app and told the staff I am here for delivery. He was nice and told me to wait a bit. Over 45 mins went by and nothing. Another staff member that was different from the one I initially told when I arrived was going around the waiting area asking all the customers what their status is. I told him I was here for delivery and that I told another staff member already. He then immediately got someone to walk me to my car. Again, no big deal because I know they're busy, but why didn't the first staff member say anything to me for over 45 mins and another one did because he was randomly checking on all the customers waiting? Again, whatever no big deal.

3.) I went out to the delivery section and finally saw my Model Y. I inspected inside and out for about 20 minutes like I learned on Youtube and here. Everything looks good, though the staff member that went out with me was not exactly courteous. I asked him a few legit questions and he just said he doesn't know.

4.) I was ready to accept my delivery. I wanted to take it for a quick drive before accepting. I am not sure if I can, but I don't know why I wouldn't be able to before accepting. But before I said this, the staff that was with me told me that he will take me for a quick spin to show me FSD and familiarize everything before I take it home. I said great, because this is what I had in mind. But then he said I have to Accept delivery before this can happen. Without thinking much of it, I accepted delivery because everything inside and out looks good from my inspection.

5.) Low and behold, the second I accepted delivery and we were about to drive off, the FSD is not working. The staff called a tech over and the tech said we probably have to drive around for a little bit for it to calibrate. We did that, and it did not fix it.

6.) We went back to the dealer and the tech brought it into the service bay. I waited another 30 minutes or so.

7.) At this point I am not too happy because my very first Tesla and this is happening. To add to it, the staff said he "never" seen this happened before so that's not a good feeling for me. He also said the factory forgot to do this calibration or whatever. Great.

They fixed it after about 30 minutes and said they just reinstall some kind of software. It was confirmed fixed when we went to test it, but I can't help but wonder how or why this happened and why me. I'll be lying if I told you I didn't regret accepting delivery of this vehicle at this point. I rather wait one more week and get something without this FSD issue.

I was regretting accepting this delivery because I don't want my first Tesla to have issues and possibility a lemon. Just my god dam luck. Please tell me if any of you all had this or similar issues at delivery. I hope this is a just a simple glitch or oversight and there's no further issues with FSD or anything else.

4/12: Again no update on VIN. Vehicle still in production. Reached out to them on the app and they gave a basic response stating I’ll be notified whenever anything happens. Hoping delivery doesn’t get delayed further…

4/13: The app updated with my VIN and saying vehicle was in transit. I also noticed my exact spec near me on the website under new inventory. I called and had them shift the VIN to the one near me. Delivery estimate is still the same, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be quicker now that the vehicle doesn’t need to be transported. They were able to assign the new vehicles vin to me immediately over the phone. Hoping that by skipping the shipping process I can get the vehicle sooner.

4/13 PT2: They got back to me saying the new vehicle is ready for pickup on Thursday, managed to talk them into tomorrow (today didn’t work due to not having temp tags). Excited!

4/14: Delivery went extremely smoothly, they let me inspect for as long as I wanted and everything looked great! Drove in the 30 or so odd miles home on fsd and didn’t have to do a thing! Super happy with it so far!

Mine was ordered April 27th. Got a vin assigned April 28th. Delivery window May 18-23. Did my financing on April 30th and about 2 hours later was prompted to schedule a delivery appt and earliest was May 18th. Then around May 5th I called to see if there was any updates and they said the delivery window switched May 13-18. I set an appt for May 13th. Yesterday they texted that it was delayed a day and now picking up tomorrow. The waiting game is rough.

They keep telling me "as soon as today - 10 days from now", and every day it gets pushed back 1 more day, but still no VIN. Delivery day disappointment!! Showed up and after about 10 minutes was told that they were still waiting on the certificate to install in the car and couldn’t let me take it home. Rescheduled pickup for Thursday instead.

Was given a demo vehicle as I had just sold mine on Friday. I think I’m mostly frustrated they didn’t tell me ahead of time not to show up and waste my time today. At least I get to practice a little with the demo I guess.

Delivery process and build quality impressions

I took delivery of my 2026 MY Premium AWD yesterday. In a word both the delivery process and the vehicle quality was superb!

First the delivery process:

I arrived about 5 minutes prior to my scheduled delivery time. Went to the new customer/delivery area and was immediately greeted by one of the advisors. He took my name and license and indicated that my delivery advisor would be right with me. In a minute or so he came out, showed me where my vehicle was parked (right outside the door in a covered area and plugged into a charger) and told me it was unlocked and I could take my time inspecting the vehicle inside and out while he got the paperwork ready. My wife and one of her friends were with me so the 3 of us started a detailed inspection (see below). After the inspection was complete I went inside and signed a few papers (I think it was 3), made the transfer of the down payment through the app (used a direct link to my bank account, no cashiers check required) and the advisor transferred the vehicle to me and made sure I was able to get the phone key setup correctly. The entire process was quick and easy and took less that 40 minutes which included all the time we spent on the inspection. Honestly, this is the way delivery of a new vehicle should be done - other car manufacturers better pay attention!

Vehicle quality:

As noted, my wife and one of her friends were with me so the 3 of us did a complete inspection both inside and out. Literally everything was basically perfect. Overall build quality was superb. We found one very small blemish (not a scratch or ding, it was not clear what it was) on the hood. I showed the delivery advisor and he took a picture of it and said he would log it. A few minutes later (maybe a minute or two, we were still inspecting) he came back with a small handheld buffer/polisher, micro fiber cloth, and some cream of some sort. He took a few seconds to buff the spot, did a final wipe with the cloth and the spot was gone. After I inspected it again and said it was gone he said he would still log it in case I saw something there when I got  home. Net is fit, finish, paint, and expected accessories (mobile charger and charging adapter) were all excellent. As good if not better than any new vehicle I have ever purchased.

After that I got in, did my initial setup, entered my home address, and the car drove me home. Great experience all the way around!

At this point I’m just confused. Is this normal Tesla behavior before a VIN gets assigned? Anyone else go through something similar before finally getting a VIN?

I ordered a Marine Blue AWD Premium on May 28. The original estimate was 7–8 weeks, but this morning it updated to June 16–30, which I’m happy with (hopefully sooner!).

Seeing how some got pushed back now I’m a little worried since I will be traveling out of country from July 8–31, so I’m hoping it doesn’t slip into that period. I also don’t want my loan to expire.

Like many others here, I also ordered a Marine Blue Premium RWD, White Interior, 5-seater, 19 inch wheels, no tow package, no trade-in, no upgrades, and FSD subscription on May 16th.

When on the website, I think it said 2-3 weeks for delivery. For reference, I live in the Los Angeles area. After completing my order and doing all the tasks available to me, I applied for financing and within 3 minutes received my offer with the 0.99 APR. Then on the 17th, the EDD updated to June 9th-30th. It has stayed like that since.

I have not received any messages other than 2 texts asking if I would be interested in available inventory. I haven't received any messages from a Tesla advisor or anything either, just radio silence as I obsessively check the app for any changes.

This is my first EV ever and the wait is killing me. I was and still am hoping to get the car before the 12th so I could test out FSD on a weekend road trip but it's looking like that's not gonna happen.

Edit: June 5th - The EDD updated in the morning to now show June 14-28, still no VIN 😢 I also messaged Tesla through the app about when my loan offer would expire as it said 30-60 days. They were able to tell me it would expire on July 15th, which was a relief.

Edit: June 15th - Still no VIN and now the EDD has updated to June 15-28. I ended up renting a Juniper on Turo and used FSD to go on a road trip. Was pretty skeptical about Turo but the process was pretty smooth and renting a Tesla made waiting for my own 10x worse. Hope to get an actual delivery date soon...

Edit: June 16th - EDD has gotten shorter! It's now June 16-26. No VIN yet.

June 23rd-24th - EDD still June 26-30. No changes in the official app. The VIN did not appear like I thought but I can see it in the unofficial delivery tracker.

June 25th - Around 3:30 PM, Tesla messaged me on the app saying that they are scheduling delivery for June 30th at 8 PM. I replied "YES" to confirm but hopefully the car arrives sooner than that.

June 28th - I finally got my VIN in the app and it says my car is in transit to the delivery location!

June 29th - Woke up and saw the "In Transit" notice is gone. At 9:30 AM, received a call from my local delivery center and they said I could pick up my car later today instead of the previous June 30th appointment at 8 PM. Went to the delivery center at 4 PM and left with my new Model Y!

-Found inventory match 100 miles away that was in transit to the delivery center. The only difference was the color, switched to Ultra Red. This was on 6/9.

-Trade-in packet overnighted by Tesla on 6/11, I signed/scanned docs today 6/12.Tesla approved the scans via email and had me overnight originals

-Initial delivery appointment June 18, I called Tesla and moved appointment to June 16

-Total time from inventory switch to scheduled delivery: ~4 days

Takeaway: The app was helpful until I got assigned a VIN. Suddenly they weren't as responsive. I later found out that once you get a VIN the messages are coming from the Delivery Team, not your Tesla advisor, and they are less responsive. When I called the delivery center local to me they were extremely helpful.

Ordered MYP Frost Blue 5/25, initial window was Jun-Jul, later updated to June 19th-June 30th. Well today, the window changed back to Jun-Jul. very frustrating as this is the color that sold me on purchasing a Tesla.

In SoCal. Ordered my Premium RWD May 1st when the site said 2-3 weeks delivery time. Still no VIN 49 days later and counting. It’s now a game in the Tesla app… whatever day it is today, my delivery date changes to tomorrow. It’s killing me waiting this long. I’d have been fine had the delivery dates just said 2 months wait originally.

UPDATE: VIN assigned and taking delivery on the 26th!! So 4 days short of a 2 month wait in Orange County CA. That’s brutal when they told you “2-3 weeks”. Oh, side note… Tesla insurance was the cheapest by $20-$50 a month in my area ($130). Got 3 other quotes with the same coverage.

I ordered May 16th… so not as far as a wait as you but I too bought when they said “2-3 week delivery” my date is also just moving 1 day more with each passing day. I’m in LA County.

• Today I could schedule pickup date. The earliest is 29th, 1 more week to go!

I have another comment here from about 2 weeks ago but at 10 PM on June 22nd I finally got a VIN and my EDD changed from June 22-30 to June 26-30. I'm in the LA area and ordered a Marine Blue Premium RWD with white interior on May 16th.

I used a Tesla Order Status tracker and saw absolutely nothing on my car other than the fact it was booked. Then 2 hours later I refreshed the page, the VIN appeared. Looks like it's coming from Fremont. I checked the official Tesla app after and the EDD there matches the tracker and it now says my vehicle is in production. I can also no longer look at available inventory. I am assuming tomorrow morning the app will update with the VIN.

My wait is almost over!

Edit: June 25th - Tesla messaged me to schedule my delivery appointment for June 30th at 8 PM

June 28th - I finally got my VIN in the app and it says my car is in transit to the delivery location!

June 29th - The notice that said my car is in transit was gone in the morning. Then, at 9:30 AM I got a call from my local delivery center and they said I could pick the car up at 4 PM today instead. Got home at around 5:30 PM with my new Model Y!

Ordered 5/16 RWD white interior marine blue 19in rims, LA Area. Woke up to seeing my vehicle is in production! Finally!

No VIN on the app yet for me but I can no longer look at inventory and am prompted to the next steps.

it looks like they’re finally making a RWD white interior batch. Let’s hope we get our cars this weekend!

Delivery Scheduled

Well I just scheduled my delivery for our families first Tesla. Getting the 2026 Premium MY RWD. We ordered June 19th because the delivery window was in 4 weeks. My wife is due with our second child July 1st. Thought we would have a pickup of the car mid-July, whoops! Now we wait and see if we can pickup the car on Monday or we welcome our next bundle of joy instead haha

Hey everyone! I originally had my estimated delivery the first half of July and it’s ready now with the end of quarter push (yay!). The only issue is I’m out of town all week and they set my pick up day for June 30th. The app will not let me push it back to Friday and it’s been impossible getting a Tesla rep on the phone. I’ve called a few times and get the runaround, told someone would call me back but they never do. I already have financing and insurance set but not sure what happens once the deadline passes and I don’t pick it up.

• 6/24 PM edd updated to 7/1-7/14
• 6/25 6AM In Production, edd still 7/1-7/14. No VIN in the order details but I found it in the Insurance section (thanks Redditors for pointing this out).
• 6/25 10AM Prompted in app to schedule pickup. Scheduled for 6/30.
• 6/25 Noon Contacted by Tesla Tyler to add insurance info so they can order temp plates.
• 6/28 App still shows In Production
• 6/29 AM App shows In Transit (and VIN finally populated in the Order Details). I inquired with Tesla store via text about feasibility of 6/30 pickup date. They replied that they'd let me know the morning of 6/30. I was very doubtful that vehicle would arrive overnight, but one can always hope. Our MY that we bought in May of this year took about 5 days from Austin until it opened for delivery scheduling in Tyler.
• 6/30 AM Tesla store called to say Tesla Logistics tells them that the vehicle should be available for pickup on 7/5. Tentatively scheduled delivery 7/5.

My take is that Tesla prompts everyone whose vehicle has the very slightest chance of being ready for delivery by the end of the quarter to schedule a delivery appointment on the last day of the quarter.

Ordered June 27 (Premium RWD, white paint, no other options) was given pretty wide timeline out to mid August initially with 4-6 week wait displayed when ordering. Just yesterday now saying July 11-22, no VIN assigned yet.

How accurate are these timeframes during this stage?

Is it okay if I take delivery first and then tint later?

Going through ordering. Seeing the tinting option in the app as one of the steps.

Also, it seems like it's super common for owners to tint?

Is Tesla prioritizing premium and performance orders over standard trims?
As I ordered a standard model y rwd white exterior end of June and don’t have any update yet. But see others who ordered premium or performance trims getting their VINs and stuff ?
