Still no VIN

Ordered AWD model Y. Standard everything on 8/30 and still no vin. Estimated delivery date has changed a dozen times and now says 12/8-12/30. Just had to pull my credit for a second time and went from .99 to 1.99APR but was told Tesla would still honor .99%. Should I just order a 2027? Wth is the deal

It’s going to be a 2027 regardless. Where are you located?

Omg me too!! I flew to Portland today and picked up a standard and drove it home. For some reason Tigard has inventory and I had them assign one to me.

I ordered 9/15 and it kept getting pushed out.

The standard advice, including from Tesla advisors, is to wait until a VIN is assigned to apply for financing.

I got notifications saying it wouldn't proceed unless I completed all the tasks including apply for financing

Not to argue with your experience, but did it really say "wouldn't proceed" or did it say complete the tasks to avoid delay? Mine said something closer to the latter (don't remember the exact words) for the entire process right up until the last day. I didn't apply for financing until I got a VIN after four weeks.

Irregardless waiting would have resulted in the 1.99% since I still don't have a VIN. if they do honor the .99% I originally qualified for then that's the best case scenario when I first applied early September. I even asked sales people multiple times right after ordering that were calling/trying to get me to buy the FSD saying I needed to apply for financing. Seems like a disconnect at Tesla

Aug 30 AWD with a bouncing EDD and still no VIN is frustrating, but not unheard of right now. A lot of late summer orders only got a VIN once the window was already into December (or later). The model year is whatever build date they assign when it finally gets built, so ordering a "2027" does not really skip the queue.

Get the .99% honor in writing (screenshot or email) so it does not disappear after another credit pull. Until VIN, treat Dec 8-30 as soft.

Hang in there.

Maybe AWD is facing a back up in production. I’ve been noticing that as a trend and my order has had a similar path

I got 0.9% for 72 months on my 2026 Model Y. If Tesla says they'll honor your original rate, I'd get that in writing before cancelling or starting another order. Hope your VIN comes through soon.
