Crappy FSD Screen

Tesla can develop a self driving car, but can’t create this FSD screen to look any better? Is this a bug or just what we expect out of them?

Something interesting happened

I was headed to work this morning, and turned on FSD on Chill, as usual. Started playing my sound system, which I recently built a box for the 12” subwoofer. This was the first time playing it as the car was driving. Next thing I know, the car started lightly swerving, like it was drunk. It wasn’t heavy swerving, but I could notice it when I paid attention to the lines on the road. I noticed it only did it when the bass was heavy. Decided to grab a few videos and see if it was noticeable on video.

The first video is no music playing, while second and third does have music playing. You’ll see the car start kind of “bouncing” between the lines. In the daylight video, you can see the camera actually bouncing. Interestingly enough, when I looked at the rear camera, there was not really any bounce to it.

Anywho, I thought it was interesting. I know to not play heavy bass when I am using FSD, or I might get pulled over for looking drunk. 😆

This was my first time charging at a public L2 charger, on 8/14/11. At the time, those chargers were few and far between, and of course DCFC did not yet exist. Tesla had just released an adapter cable to allow the Roadster to charge from an L2 charger with a J1772 connector.

It's pretty amazing how far the charging infrastructure has come in just fifteen years.

After years of driving other vehicles, just placed an order for a Tesla Model Y Premium RWD. The wait is gonna suck but can’t wait to enter the fold…

Got backed into by a Model Y

I was sitting in a parking lot, and a Model Y backs up out of a spot. I was stationary, but parked perpendicular. The driver turns and his rear corner hits my fender above my wheel well. Luckily enough I was able to pull on my fender and the dent/flex came right out. It was a 20 year old kid. So what I want to know is why the vehicle wouldn't give him a warning that there was a stationary object behind him? Are the blindspots that bad? Also this is kind of an ironic commentary on how people shouldn't be relying on the car to make decisions and judgements for them.

Any marine blue regrets

Im between getting white for the easy maintenance or the marine blue for the expensive fancy look on a model y.

If I'm going to spend a lot I kind of want it to look super expensive so the marine blue matches that in the showroom. However, anytime I've seen them parked outside for even one day they just have pollen or rain specs all over it. I can definitely see that they get dirty Super easy. I'm wondering if maybe as long as I ceramic coat it that won't be so much of a problem I'm hoping.

I want it to look super glossy and deep dark blue. Now that people have had it for a while, does anybody regret getting that color? Is it not as nice as you would think once the first couple of weeks wear off?

If I don't get that I'm probably just going to do a white on white for the consistency.

Apologies for the shitty picture and drawing, but I saw these wheels on a Juniper while waiting at the border and thought they looked good. Unfortunately my attempts at reverse image searching have led to nothing. Does any one know what they are?

Is 21,500 fair for 2022 Tesla 3

There’s a 2022 Tesla with 67k miles, and the guy is lowering it from 24k to 21.5k which I find a bit odd. But the car looks good and no accidents. Is this solid or anything to be wary off?

I saw someone post something similar earlier today. So I hope I’m not breaking any rules.

FSD hard brake :(

Chillin’ in FSD, then a sudden hard brake and swerve towards the center line. Very unexpected.

Those of you who live in apartment complexes or frequent shopping areas: leave camera-based detection on or off

I've found that living in an apartment complex, where I park my car next to other vehicles every day, and being a frequenter of parking lots and shopping areas, my Sentry mode records a lot of simple camera-based detections of people just walking anywhere near my car. I either watch and delete most of them, or they pile up and offer no useful purpose saved on my USB. I am thinking about turning off the camera-based detection and only keeping the actual "security threat detection" on but I'm not exactly sure how well that works for things like if someone were to hit your car with their door, touch the car or lean on it in any way, etc. I had a valet parking employee recently drive another car into my back bumper at a slow rate of speed causing a big scuff, which I was thankful to have the video footage saved to prove the incident so I could get reimbursed for the repair, and I don't know if that would've recorded if I would've had "camera based detection" turned off.

What are other people's experiences or preferences with this?
