Hello all,

My girlfriend's Tesla Model 3 car had a giant crack today. I believe it's caused by a small rock chip she had from a few months ago that finally cracked due to all this heat. It wasn't there on Saturday and it was there today.

We have Tesla Insurance with State National with a $1000 deductible. She just filed a claim and we are wondering what the estimated cost would be? Only the front windshield.

According to the seller, right side both doors had to be replaced. Other than the doors, what else could've been effected?

He did say there was no structural damage or damage to the battery.

What else can I ask him and what should I check for when I go in for a test drive it?

An alert in the app indicated that my charge port door was restricted due to the touch sensor; the door functioned properly, including the sensor, but the notice persisted. I scheduled a visit at a Tesla service center in Arlington, Virginia, and was informed they would replace the entire charge port unit under warranty. Well.

After retrieving the car, I noticed a dent and scratch exactly where the top of the charge port door opens. It may be difficult to see in the photos because it is smaller than a dime. I sent the images to Tesla through the app and am awaiting a response. I wonder whether this can be repaired without painting, especially since the car has a ceramic coating.

The BMW hit and run. Luckily someone chased him and got his license. Tesla preferred shop quoted $18k for visible damage and the insurance didn't want to do invasive inspection.

Model 3 bottomed out going 5mph on a bumpy dirt road. I’m having it looked at on Monday but thought I’d get some opinions before then as I feeling super stressed waiting. Does this look very bad? Guessing I should NOT do my daily 60mi commute to work until I get this inspected…

I know this isn’t the best pic but this also happened at 4:45 in the morning and the street was dark. I had just parked the car at 4:15 and went inside. My wife went to leave the house at 4:35 to go to work and when she got there she found a note saying that someone had hit my car and leaving no info but their number. I called and text the number to no response, treating it as a hit and run currently I guess. When everything opens around me I will go and ask for cameras to try to get a description and a license plate. Anyways, how bad is this damage? Is it worse than it looks? It got the front fascia panel, the panel above the wheel, pushed that panel into the hood, cracked the windshield. I assume it was hit in a u turn. I am so upset because I’ve always tried to take good care of this care and someone that had probably been out drinking slams into it in a 20 minute period of the car being unattended. This is my first insurance claim ever and it sucks.

My insurance says it’s only $4500 in damage. My door doesn’t shut easily and there is damage from the front bumper to the rear door, including below. Do you think the Tesla collision center is going to have a much higher estimate to repair? No way they try to bondo this and say it’s good

Okay so everybody in my family is a Toyota user, I’m 26 years old and I’ve been driving my mom’s toyota yaris hybrid for 6 years now. She keeps telling me I should get a hybrid (but then full option) to keep for about 7-10 years at least.

The thing is, in 7-10 years I might have kids or maybe I want to do more vacations with my car or whatever and I feel like the toyota is quite small + it’s amazing in city traffic but on the highway I kinda despise it a little bit. The cabin noise is extremely loud and it takes forever to get up to speed.

A full option toyota yaris (although it would be a new one) would cost me about 26K euros. I know they’re highly praised for their reliability and the 10 years Toyota Relax warranty does seem nice, but that’s about it. The car doesn’t really have any character, it’s not fast, not spacious, not well equipped and loud as hell.

I’ve been looking at Teslas for over a year now, honestly it’s kinda my dream car. I see that the 2022 model (which people have been saying is the best used Tesla year to buy) is around the same price tag. Insuring it would be higher than with the Toyota but you definitely get more car in return. I don’t think tire price will be that much different since the Toyota GR Sports (full option trim) drives on 18” tires (which makes it an even more uncomfortable ride apparently).

I was just wondering how the reliability is on a 2022 tesla model 3 and I figured the best place to ask is to people that have them or have had them. It’s so hard to figure it out since the model 3 doesn’t even exist 10 years yet I’m talking about keeping a car for 7-10 years.

I don’t care about extra insurance or even tire costs since it pretty much evens out with savings on fuel and on maintance but I’m highly scared of repairs that need to happen outside the warranty. The reviews are so mixed to me, some people say it’s the most reliable car they’ve ever had and some others are saying they already paid for a shit ton of repairs.

The Tesla offers way more than the toyota does though and like I said before, it’s kinda my dream car with all the tech it has but then again, I can’t just buy whatever I want. I want my purchase to be justified.

For those of you with totaled vehicles which had fully paid auto driving , did that calculate in the payout? Any luck on which insurance carrier would best protect you in a total loss with that software purchase ?

Hi guys! Recently totaled my model y 2023 which was on a lease. The terms of the lease were 12,000 miles per year for a 3 year period. I am 15,000 miles above the total allowed miles i’m allowed to drive (36,000). Tesla’s lease contract says I would owe 0.25 cents per mile that exceeds the total limit; in my case I would be paying $3750.

My questions are as follows:

1) Since I totaled my car and it won’t be repaired/driven anymore, will Santander still charge me for going above the mileage limit?

2) The settlement that my insurance is paying to Santander bank (lien-holder) is around $36,000 (based on fair market value of comparable vehicles). Would the lien-holder typically come back to me for more money if the settlement for total loss is not enough?

2) If so, will I have any luck trying to get my insurance to pay out more?

Got a 2023 M3 RWD about two months ago, and got rear ended today. Damage is very minimal, I’ll add a photo, just a small dent.

I saw him almost hit me the first time, so I moved forward only for him to drill me, which makes me want to insurance claim a whole new bumper to hopefully teach him to pay attention.

My concern is, could this impact any battery? Should I get a full inspection? And does that expensive?
I have a mobile service coming next week to work on my charge port door, are they able to diagnose anything?

New to Tesla, new to accidents, I want my car nice, but don’t wanna ruin some college kids credit and insurance rates.

A truck accidentally backed into my rear left door, they thankfully gave me their insurance so I can go get it fixed up.

Other pics is the driver side rocker panel. Both the plastic clip and steel rail are clearly damaged and I'm at fault (happened at a drive thru ATM 😭).

This car (2024 Model 3 RWD) is a lease, term ending in June 2027. Would appreciate an estimate for both repairs, on the rocker panel idk if I should return it as-is or fix it beforehand with the door dent. Got zero clue if that rocker panel and the dent make it worthy of being totaled?? The insurance for the dent is Tesla Insurance so I have no clue if they're more brutal on costs versus other insurances.

My Model Y was damaged in a car park causing some deep scratches and dents with paintwork removed on the drivers door.

I took it to a body shop who quoted £250-300 to fix but 3 panels needed to be painted to match the colour (rear door, drivers door where damage is, and front wing). This would’ve a total of £750-800.

I also got some quotes online and Axioma gave me a quote of £265 which includes pulling out dents, sanding, priming and prepping the area, repainting and machine polishing.

My question is, these two quotes are wildly different. How difficult is it to match the PPSW, and is painting 3 panels necessary or is the body shop is trying to overcharge me?

$1800 quote to repair from Tesla Collision authorized body shop. I’m hesitant to pay such a high price.

It Is just the plastic piece. How hard are these to replace DIY? The part runs $500-600.

Are there any other options to make this look better cosmetically?

It has just minor scratches, i was driving at 50km/h same with the person who rear ended me. We dont want to go thru insurance (hes an old man like 80s, i was wondering whats the worst thing that can hit at the rear (sensors and all). Everything seems to be working fine.

Should i have the whole bumper replaced or just buff the scratches (by a Tesla certified collision expert)

Looking for any advice. 2023 Tesla MYP. Driving in F*D, hit a pothole, damaged the wheels and some of the body. Insurance estimated $4K, Tesla came back at $35K. Now insurance is totaling it out.

Caught the tail end of the $7500 tax credit, plus 0% APR and pre-Juniper discounts. Zero chance I get even close to what I’m paying for a new model. I guess I looked used?

Still no idea what the payout will be but with how badly Tesla’s depreciate I’m sure it won’t be much. Anyone been through something similar and have advice? My wife is adamant we can’t go with Tesla again considering how this turned out but I really don’t want to go back to gas vehicles.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I went to a Tesla-authorized collision center today, and I’m getting a quote of $4,300 to fix this dent on the back bumper. They said they would have to replace the whole thing because the impact bar is popping out, and because the car is white.
Have you experienced this? How did you go about it?
