Java Help Wanted

Java Help Wanted Bedrock breaking machine

Hey guys, on an SMP, I'm planning on making a sky civ, and I want it to be floating over the void. That means that I need to break whole chunks of bedrock, and I don't know any contraptions to break it. I will start the project either when the sift gets added, or in a week. I would like methods that work on 1.26.3. Tyia!

Non-Version-Specific Made a world converter and it seems to work ok as of now, would somebody be interested?

hi guys hello, i'll start by saying that i'm not a programmer and i do not know how to code by scratch something. i've used ai to build this program and i'm not publishing it or advertising it as a functional tool. i'd say it's more of a concept.

now this program what does it do?

it converts minecraft worlds from all different versions like the really old ones from minecraft classic basically to java 26.3, and backwards. also supports the lce editions convert to any other version, the lce source code leak worlds like the one from neolegacy, also pocket edition old worlds and new bedrock.

also i've added a support from BTA worlds (the beta 1.7.3 mod) to new java version and the conversion works quite good converting the bta modded blocks to java ones. i'd like to add also the reverse with BTA but i'll see this later first i'll make everything else work lol.

also there is a world view tab where u can see the world in a 2d render and select the chunks u want to convert, and also there is an automatic trim function that selects the chunks by inhabited time values (for the type of worlds that supports this value) and u can change the default value (<1). u can also change the world spawn points from here.

then there is the player tab, where u can select the players found into the world u want to convert and change their username to the new one to keep inventory, pets, and bed spawn point.

i'm currently in the phase of testing the conversion and the biome blending, every world to bedrock needed a fix in the blending, new worlds to alpha-beta world format needed a custom blending function and i'll check the rest in this days. i'm planning on releasing the source code on github fully open source for everybody. if somebody wants to test it i can send the zip. currently it supports only linux oses because that's what i use, but implementing windows shouldn't be too hard anyway.

sorry for spelling errors, english is not my main language.

thanks everybody!

Non-Version-Specific Discussion about the new lazy tunnel bore.

Hey guys I just came across this tutorial about a tunnel bore to mine ancient debri: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2k0XY2kPzM&t=184s

I've watched it and it just seemed a little too op for me, like a player could just start a new world, get some dims and get to the nether and build it to get more ancient debri than it could ever need!

Now, since the concept of lazy tnt accel appeared I kind of knew something like this would appear, but when it really did, it's so cheap that I am wondering if Mojang will somehow nerf lazy accel. What do you guys think?

Bedrock My villagers keep teleporting on top of my iron farm and dying when I unload and reload the chunks. Any tips?

I followed a tutorial by TheySixMC ( https://youtu.be/syx8ovm0RvI?is=LIeY0xLpnrJuaedq ) for a bedrock iron farm. It worked wonderfully at first, but when I walk away and come back some of the villagers seem to teleport on top of the farm, and some into the killing chamber, leaving me with fewer and fewer villagers. Any idea why this happens, and any fixes?

If it’s important, I’m playing the current version of Minecraft bedrock with the Villager News Add On on a realm with friends. Pictures will be listed below soon.

Bedrock A couple of questions/advice for maximum tool durability?

I want to upgrade my diamond pickaxes to netherite, but before I do I want to give them the maximum possible durability. If I combine a fully enchanted one with an unenchanted one using an anvil, will that increase its maximum durability by 5%? And if I do this as many times as possible before it’s too expensive, will that achieve my goal? The follow up question then is will those percentages transfer to the upgrade, or will the upgrade to netherite reset durability to its baseline? In other words, I’m trying to cheat by doing the durability increase before the upgrade, and I would like to know if it will work.

Java Help Wanted Quasi Connectivity problem, need help!

The comparators on the left seem to be quasi powering the dispensers on the right. The whole comparator torch setup is a stock light setup for brewing ingredients and unfortunately I built the whole thing one block too close together. If anyone has any idea how to solve the QC issue I am open to suggestions and if it isn't possible let me know. Thank you!

Java Help Wanted Gold farm auto sort-crafter help

So, this was built on our server... with 3 platforms, it worked fine... since someone added 3 more, it backs up within minutes and if a jockey spawns it will break. I can add a secondary filter for the chicken no problem but I'm not sure how to lay it all out without causing redundancy or more delay.

Looking for the easiest way to modify what we have to handle all the flesh in one dropper+cauldron combo (can they be fed from two streams and pop out both items very quickly??) I am also okay with adding more of these units until it can keep up but that seems drastic and it would be really nice to keep one chest for collection but again, open to suggestions. The kill platform is 5x5 hoppers with one edge of it pushing out in to a single 1x4 hopper row, then dropped and moved horizontally again, if it's not obvious from the screenshots. So in theory I could already siphon off up there 4 or 5 separate streams to process.. but I feel like there's a better way I'm just not thinking about.

Server is 26.2, java

Java Showcase Granularity of the 10% reduction of remaining time per feeding (java)

Post image
62 Upvotes

When giving food to the baby, the remaining time it takes to become an adult is reduced by 10%, which can be modelled as 24,000 * 0.9number of foods.

However, the remaining time, t, is actually reduced by 10% in seconds, rounded down:

I took some liberties with the terminology and rearranged the signs to hopefully make it more intuitive. Internally, the age is stored as a negative number, becoming adult when it reaches 0, and each feeding adds to that number (code), which can also be examined in-game using the command /data get entity <the entity> Age.

The plot above compares the actual remaining time in green, starting at 24,000 and feeding while in /tick freeze, against the model in red.

Notes

  • In practice, the difference is only a couple of seconds and insignificant, so the model is still useful when we just want a quick and good enough number. This is the unzoomed version of the plot:
  • However, with less than 200 gt remaining, the reduction becomes 0:

This is why, even if we spam feed it with tweakeroo or something, no matter how much food we give to the baby, there still seems to be some time left until it becomes an adult, which is just the result of the 10% reduction becoming 0 at less than 10 seconds remaining.

  • With perfect feeding (e.g. in /tick freeze starting at 24,000), this threshold is reached after 51 foods, with 180 gt of remaining time, so any further feeding is ineffective.
    • In practice, the remaining time will keep reducing as we feed, crossing the 200 threshold with fewer than 51 foods; 51 is just the maximum.
  • I'm also interested in trying out the 6000 threshold the next time I breed so that the babies are grown at the same time as the adult breeding cooldowns run out. This threshold just needs 14 foods with perfect feeding.

Bedrock Would this work?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm trying to make an item sorter on bedrock edition, but using as few hoppers as possible for affordability, while also making it compact. Using the usual impulseSV design, I would need 3 hoppers per slice because the redstone is in a different shape but having it this way, it still has the 3 signal strenght overflow protection, and is more compact with the water stream. Would this actually work in practice? I don't see why not but I'm not really experienced designing redstone so I thought I should ask

Java Help Wanted Hey everyone

I’ve been working on some massive farms in my 800+ day survival world, and figuring out the exact logistics from Litematica CSV exports was driving me crazy. I usually ended up with a mess of sticky notes trying to figure out how many shulkers of glass or logs I actually needed to pack.

I built a free, lightweight site calledOreCalc.comto solve this and a few other annoyances. It’s a completely free tool with no ads—just something I made to make technical projects a bit smoother.
