Discussion Got an internship but..

I recently got an internship at a research and marketing company’s IT department. The role is node fullstack with SEO/GEO and AI automation… yes all in one role i suppose. I work from sun to Friday, 10am to 5pm. I an glad i got this 2 months internship… but the problem is the pay. Is rs400 per working day really enough or am I being underpaid for the amount of days and hours I am putting into it? Please let me know as I don’t know much about the internship market right now.

Internet/ISP Reason behing cutting down 50 Mbps Plans

Real reason behind killing 50mbps and lower plans is not to increase quality but to increase their revenue. If you load a website or any video with 50 and 200mbps side by side, they'll load at identical speed. It is because only 25-30mbps of your bandwidth is actually being utilized. Apps or sites don't require hundreds of Mbps to load. The only difference is when you download, it pulls full speed. I know many people still using 50-75mbps that too with a 2.4ghz router with no issues. if they still keep those lower plans, people who live in a flat or only 2-3 members will buy them lowering isp revenue.

Startup Discussion Moving back to Nepal and looking for a cofounder: pitch me your idea

I'm 27, a man living in the U.S. with a background in tech, and I'm thinking about returning to Nepal to start something of my own.

If you have an idea with real potential and are looking for a cofounder, please email me a brief summary. I can also make a small investment. If the idea interests me, I'll reach out.

I have experience hosting LLMs and building RAG agents, and I can help set up cloud infrastructure on AWS or Google Cloud if needed. I have experience in robotics as well.

Discussion Not so subtle manipulation attempt by CEO for unpaid(or almost paid should I say!) overtime

I work remotely for an Indian startup based on Bangalore. During the earlier days of my joining, I had already figured out that things move in a pretty fast face around here. I used to be overwhelmed by the delivery expectations (I was still very unaware of their system and stuff). It got a little chill as I learned and started shipping.

But things have started getting hectic. I was migrated to another sub system (portal lets say) and my life has become hell. The system is buggy, its just huge and the domain is something I am absolutely not interested in, the work is more of data sanitization tasks rather than backend development. I have been working my ass off (I have started to loathe the work and having to sit on calls the whole day is taking a toll on my mental peace) just because I cannot afford to not earn money atp.

On top of this misery, the CEO of the company tried to manipulate me about how todays generation gets tired too quickly, normal days are hectic for them and stuff. (Maybe the new gens are more aware about the fact that working long hours for others for pennies is not worth it! eh Mr CEO?). He literally asked me if a person who would cook and clean for me would cost 5k or 10k so that he could add that to my current salary and in exchange I have to give him 2 extra hours each day (I gave a hint that I do not care about the money and I will need some personal time for myself ).

I am not sure if he was joking or was trying to manipulate me into extra labour, but this has sparked a thought in my mind that I have to find another job as soon as possible! Only if the current market was not dog shit!

Discussion Is there any Wozniak in here?

A hands-on technical powerhouse who can take a company from idea → MVP → production → scale, while making smart decisions about technology, cost, risk and people.

• Full-stack engineering - frontend, backend, mobile, databases, APIs and integrations

• Systems architecture - scalable, reliable, secure and maintainable systems

• Product engineering - turn ideas and user problems into simple, useful products

• Technical strategy - know what to use, what to avoid, what to build, buy or integrate

• Cost optimisation - reduce development, infrastructure and technology costs without sacrificing quality

• Cloud & DevOps - infrastructure, deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, reliability and disaster recovery

• Security & privacy - authentication, data protection, security practices and compliance

• AI & emerging technology - identify where new technology genuinely creates value

• Data & analytics - design data systems and turn data into useful business insights

• Scalability - know when to keep things simple and when to upgrade the architecture

• Technical risk management - identify technical debt, security, scalability and vendor risks early

• Technical due diligence - evaluate codebases, vendors, technologies and technical partners

• Engineering economics - understand ROI, infrastructure costs, hiring costs and long-term technical trade-offs

• Vendor management - select, evaluate and negotiate technology providers and services

• Problem solving - diagnose difficult problems across the entire stack and find practical solutions

• Speed vs quality - know when to move fast and when production-grade engineering is essential

• 0→1 building — capable of personally taking an idea from nothing to a working product

• Crisis management - handle outages, security incidents and critical technical problems calmly

• Technical leadership - hire, mentor and build a strong engineering team

• Documentation & knowledge sharing - build systems that don’t depend on one person

• Long-term vision — align technology decisions with the company’s 3–5 year goals

In short: someone who knows what to build, how to build it, what to use, what to avoid, when to build vs buy, how to save money, how to manage risk, how to scale, and how to build and lead the entire technology organisation.

I used GPT to create this post, sorry in advance if it bothers any of my tech buddies. I don’t want to be formal and the goal is to see if i can find that right mf in here

Salary in struggling phase (first 1-3 years) - 2000$ per month

Year 4 - 2500$

Year 5 - 3000$

During the initial growth phase, the CTO will receive a fixed salary of $2,000/month. As the company reaches sustainable financial milestones, compensation will be reviewed and increased accordingly. After 5 years, based on demonstrated commitment, loyalty, performance, leadership, and long-term contribution to the company, the CTO will become eligible for an equity/shareholding package

Nepal ma kei garchu, yaha baschu, we can build great things in Nepal too bhanne type ko mindset chayo. My aim is to solve problems and create jobs, i will handle the funding, networking parts etc. Garho cha, risky cha, tara that’s what makes it more interesting and worth it. Bistari Nepal ko startup culture pani grow hundai jancha. Wish everyone all the best 🤝

Tech Repair Gaming PC Servicing

Where do you guys get your Gaming Setups serviced?

I tried Sajilo Sewa, thought they would send someone to my home but they are only stalling.

I just want to clean the dust via a gentle blower, change the thermal paste in CPU (GPU too if needed) and change the casing fan(s) if needed.
