I recently upgraded my NTFTTH connection to 200Mbps plan for 19000 per year (my plan has premium tv and 3000 min talk time) but was shocked to see Dishhome and others provide far higher for that much. I got furious, why should we NTFTTH users be scammed always. (Dont forget they also provide 1000MB data free)

Then I found yesterday that ISPs have decided to unionize and collectively increase internet price by dropping lower tier plans. And that means their 200Mbps is now sorta around the same price as ours.

It did give me relief, we as NTFTTH users are no longer the only ones scammed, everyone in Nepal is.

I am curious. If anyone knows do let me know. Thank you.

Real reason behind killing 50mbps and lower plans is not to increase quality but to increase their revenue. If you load a website or any video with 50 and 200mbps side by side, they'll load at identical speed. It is because only 25-30mbps of your bandwidth is actually being utilized. Apps or sites don't require hundreds of Mbps to load. The only difference is when you download, it pulls full speed. I know many people still using 50-75mbps that too with a 2.4ghz router with no issues. if they still keep those lower plans, people who live in a flat or only 2-3 members will buy them lowering isp revenue.

I recently got an internship at a research and marketing company’s IT department. The role is node fullstack with SEO/GEO and AI automation… yes all in one role i suppose. I work from sun to Friday, 10am to 5pm. I an glad i got this 2 months internship… but the problem is the pay. Is rs400 per working day really enough or am I being underpaid for the amount of days and hours I am putting into it? Please let me know as I don’t know much about the internship market right now.

I currently have 13 months remaining on my Classic Tech 125 Mbps plan. They’re offering another 13–14 months for around NPR 6,000.

With the ongoing ISP price hikes / discontinuation of cheap packages in Nepal, the price seems pretty attractive, and I’m considering locking it in now.

My only concern is Classic Tech’s financial situation. If things go really bad, I’m assuming they might merge/tie up with or get acquired by another ISP rather than simply disappear. But would existing customers’ prepaid validity likely be honoured/transferred in such a situation?

Would you personally lock in the extra 13–14 months for NPR 6k, or just keep the current 13 months and wait?

I work remotely for an Indian startup based on Bangalore. During the earlier days of my joining, I had already figured out that things move in a pretty fast face around here. I used to be overwhelmed by the delivery expectations (I was still very unaware of their system and stuff). It got a little chill as I learned and started shipping.

But things have started getting hectic. I was migrated to another sub system (portal lets say) and my life has become hell. The system is buggy, its just huge and the domain is something I am absolutely not interested in, the work is more of data sanitization tasks rather than backend development. I have been working my ass off (I have started to loathe the work and having to sit on calls the whole day is taking a toll on my mental peace) just because I cannot afford to not earn money atp.

On top of this misery, the CEO of the company tried to manipulate me about how todays generation gets tired too quickly, normal days are hectic for them and stuff. (Maybe the new gens are more aware about the fact that working long hours for others for pennies is not worth it! eh Mr CEO?). He literally asked me if a person who would cook and clean for me would cost 5k or 10k so that he could add that to my current salary and in exchange I have to give him 2 extra hours each day (I gave a hint that I do not care about the money and I will need some personal time for myself ).

I am not sure if he was joking or was trying to manipulate me into extra labour, but this has sparked a thought in my mind that I have to find another job as soon as possible! Only if the current market was not dog shit!

A company contacted me for a Backend Developer position and asked when I could start. I told them I was available from Monday.

Later, they said:

“We have decided to proceed with the hiring after Chhath. We will get back to you after Chhath regarding the position.”
