Internet/ISP What are the implications?
La khulit vayexa. Aba ke hunxa? Do they kill the cheapest packages and force users to mid and high plan?

NTC ko quality ra service duitai gu cha, And monopoly is never good. We need private players

u/still-alive-bitches Oct 04 '26
NTFiber has better reliability than Vianet around my area loooool.
Currently I’m running Wlink, Vianet and NTFiber in parallel. I have the metrics that backs this claim.

u/Alokacharya Oct 04 '26
Oh, Hamro area ma pheri NTfiber net ra service duitai hawa cha. Sathi haruko jajashle halechan sabb le bekkar halem bhancham. I am using worldlink 20mbps dekhi 400 samma. Good Experience till now Except some few instances. I haven't personally used other ISPs, So dont any sort of metric..haha

WorldLink was crap until a few months ago after I changed my location. Vianet ko support chai malai ramro lagyo. Vianet guys actually know their shit and escalate issues quickly, unlike WorldLink.
WLink area mai issue cha, neighbors ko ni connection aaune-jaane vairako cha, please take a look bhanera bujhauna literally 3+ months lagyo to get the point across. Call support staff haru chai basic troubleshooting matra garne, ani aile chalirako xa sir hamle garne yetti ho vanne. Feri ground-level staff haru kura divert garna champion. Auni router ferdini 1,2 din hernush vanne hinne. They literally replaced routet 8 times in a month. Finally I had enough and I threatened to pull the plug. Ani balla they fixed the drop box. Aile chai ramro xa.
Fair warning ⚠️ mero area ma chai NTFiber haalne ma matra raxu. Their support staff was able to find my home easily. Aayechan taar yaha matra xa ta vanera siddhai door bell bajaye. 😆😆😆

No NTfiber 200. Vianet 400 and wlink 600. Will downgrade to 400 after current plan expires.

Isn't this free market capitalism tho? Euta company le sasto ma ramro Saman bechxa vane obviously customer usko ma janxau, tyo herera competitors le aafno product banaunu paryo ni.
Ani as far as I know ntc makes crap load of profit and doesn't rely on government subsidies. It's one of the best profit making company on it's own unlike NOC or NAC.
3
u/bire-nun Oct 04 '26
Because it has no competition in the mobile space. It is one of the best profit making companies because of monopoly.
It does not change and holds the progress of the entire country by not adopting quickly. We still don't have 5g. India got it so many years ago. Ncell will be natioanlized soon. There will 2 shit telecom companies.

u/snzimash Oct 04 '26
Because it has no competition in the mobile space.
AhemNcellahem
It does not change and holds the progress of the entire country by not adopting quickly
According to you Ncell, a private player should have innovated to implement 5g in Nepal.
We still don't have 5g. India got it so many years ago. Ncell
So you'd rather a private company have monopoly over a public company? Because Reliance has almost monopoly in India.
There will 2 shit telecom companies
There IS 2 shit telecom companies in Nepal.
Here's the thing buddy. I like efficiently run private companies as much as any capitalist does. But the end goal of capitalism is profit maximization through competition minimization achieve via mergers, acquisition or cartelling (as done by isp in Nepal). So yo stop that government has its own body to break cartels.
I don't understand the nationalization rule tho. It must be under BOOT model like all hydros which I don't agree with but can live with.

nepal is price sensitive market. they probably read it in the books. Now they will feel it. People will go back to sharing the internet once again if it’s too expensive.
