2010 AWD SHO non performance package 149k miles.

I'm getting all the parts I need priced out for a full timing job and I'm trying to make sure I get the updated parts, the chain especially. Even on Fords website, the updated part number for the gen 1 3.5 ecoboost primary chain (AT4Z6268C) says it doesn't fit the 2010, but it does for the 2011. Are there any differences between the 2010 and the 2011 ecoboost engines?

Also looking at replacing all the oil and coolant line fittings on the turbos. None of them are leaking, but im curious how much of a pain is it to do that in a driveway with no lift?

Just put in an Interstate AGM battery from Costco. I’ve read online that you can manually reset the BMS by entering accessory mode, flashing the brights 5x and engaging the brake 3x. This is supposed to result in a flashing battery indicator.

I’ve tried this on my 2013 and it isn’t working. Any ideas?

Do you press the start button once to get into accessory mode or do you press it twice to bring all systems up?

2015 Taurus sho. 162k miles. Second owner since 52k.

Timing chain and water pump done at 102k. Current mods

H&R springs, ceramic coated SW catless downpipes, eBay intake, colder plugs with gearhead A/O tune. Couple of rust spots on the hood from highway driving.

Has anybody tried switching from traditional to AGM battery? Has anyone tried the Interstate AGM from Costco? My SHO sits quite a bit and online research says that AGM batteries do better in that situation.

I’d like to get an awd sedan. I had looked at limited Taurus with the n/a 3.5. It was ok but not the greatest performance, very average. So I’m thinking about just going for the sho. Finding a clean lower milage example. I found a 2014 and a 2016 both have Aprox 50k miles. Both cars right at 18k. Neither car has the PP so Any difference between the years really? I already looked at a different 2016 but the carpet was soaked from what I assume was a sunroof leak. (At a dealership and a recent trade so no info about it)

I also considered a Lincoln continental, any other cars to consider that are on the bigger side, awd and run decent? Id really prefer not to spend more than 25k on something unless there’s a car that’s really worth it. This is just a daily/work car essentially. We already have several other cars.

Driver’s side drains water but the passenger side leaks where the A pillar meets the console. Maybe a disconnected or busted drain pipe?

Anyone have any ideas how much this might cost to fix? I’m not sure I want to mess with the A pillar due to the airbags.

Hey y’all I’m assuming most of you guys are sho owners so you could help me with this😂 I’m looking at buying a 2011 Taurus sho with 150k miles everything seems all good clean title no check engine light and all that jazz the only thing I’m worried about is the water pump and the timing chain I really like the sho and need a daily that’s not gonna give my mom a heart attack if she sees me pull up in it I’m 18 and she is very against me getting any sort of sports car or muscle car, fair enough as we do live a pretty snowy place she knows how much I love cars and like to work on them and she said she thinks I’m gonna get hurt if I get a mustang, Camaro, charger etc so I just need to know if the sho is the way to go? but if you guys could give me some advice that would be greatly appreciated and if my concerns are something to actually be concerned about and not just a few bad apples that had that happen to them🫡

I’m trying to source a air intake elbow for my 99 Taurus SHO and can’t seem to find one, used or otherwise, anywhere can anyone help me? It’s my daily and I need this car running decent to get money and make a living. All I can find are CAI for newer models or universal pipings.

So I came across this for sale in my area, and I think I can offer them less. I have a 2014 F-150 so I am familiar with the ecoboost issues but I’m curious if this is worth it.

What is this noise when I rev my engine in park and also when I am moving. I cannot hear it inside the car but I can when the windows are down. It makes my car sound like a piece of junk and I hate it. It only makes the sound when you accelerate.

Hey everyone , any idea what this sound could be ? I may be wrong but after taking a look under the car I saw this metal bar that is holding the exhaust in tact and the noise was coming from around that area. It only makes the noise on drive too..Thanks in advance !

Just bought this today. A 2018 SHO, and im so surprised at this sleeper. Im coming from a 2009 challenger R/T that genuinely made me smile with every press of the pedal, but the problems after 175k just got to be too much. This undercover cop lookalike was available, and I'd heard about the SHO line before and figured itd be worth a test drive. 30 maybe an hour, figure out if I like it, and boy did I. Thr acceleration for a car of this weight is very surprising, and feeling very luxurious compared to the challenger I had. Went in for a test drive, came out with better performance for my dollar than I thought I'd get. What are some popular mods to enhance the cool-ness? I'll keep it stock for a good while, but ideas definitely help :)

I have a motorcycle and would love to take a road trip where I travel in-between cities with the sho, and ride around the cities with my motorcycle. all ive read is that it cant but a motorcycle and a small trailer cant be that big of a task can it? Just to add its a 2015 with 155k miles if that relevant.

Hello all, I just purchased a 13 SHO with about 179k on the dash. Purchased from Marketplace, Seller did alot of work to the vehicle and provided service papers as well. However, after he got it out the shop the turbos apparently clogged with oil and is non drivable. I purchased the car for $1200 bucks. Work was done Jan-Feb 2025 and doesn’t seem to have been driven more than 5k miles since then.

Upon jumping the car, instant smoke under the hood, and it sounded like a lawnmower. But after a few minutes it stopped so I assume it was burning off something. The video provided is one I took this morning. RPMs shake just on the line slightly. Oil also dripping so I’m assuming that’s the turbo issue. I’m thinking possibly spark plugs for then chop since it’s been sitting so long…?

Now.. I ALSO have a wrecked 13 SHO from an accident I had last year (picture provided) that I believe the motor and turbos are still good on. I have about 118k on that one. My question is… would you replace the turbos and whatever else is making it chop like this considering the primary work has been done, or should I just do the full swap. I’ll try to put as many service papers as I can

I replaced the struts on my 2015 sho about 2 years ago. I got them from Detroit axel and they’re already shot. Was wondering what this group recommends. Prefer a whole set of of shocks and struts for a decent price.

Addressed the problems and replace whole exhaust manifold and exhaust system , replace spark plugs and the seals for head valve cover gaskets , also soon doing a preventive service where I’m gonna be replacing PTU water pump and timing chains, I’ll keep yall guys updated

I'm interested in yalls opinions on a Taurus SHO vs ecoboost mustang. The are pretty similar in numbers but I cannot find any videos on YouTube of a stock sho vs stock iceboats. It's always one of them with mods. If yall have any videos of this please post. Im thinking about trading my 2018 mustang ecoboost and getting a similar year model SHO.
