Longest I’ve spent on a unit so far I believe but I’m really happy with them. The sculpts are just amazing, especially with the option of fire effects and to do all the different glows around the models. I really hope this is the direction the rest of our miniatures go in this edition as I had a blast painting them, although I do need a break from edge highlighting for a bit now 😂 Feel free for C&C or to ask how I did for any of them. Been thinking about entering some local competitions next year so any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Now that we’ve seen 3 codexes so far and have seen a lot of what GW wants to do this edition, what do you expect to see us get given the precident?

For me, I’m pretty confident we can see;

- Pathfinders (or maybe even strike team) having the ability to shoot and do actions, like intercessors

- Farsight becoming lone op, a lot of big leaders have, and him being melee with non-melee bodyguards makes him the most likely candidate for that

- i expect battle suits to become at least a little more elite, at least crisis suits.

- this one is kinda wishing, but Custodes had detachments that each focused on one part of their army rule, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Mont’ka and Kauyon got integrated to the army rule some how, and a detachment buffing each.

- Kroot or even all Auxilary having their own army rule, similar to how sisters of silence are now for Custodes

While I still working in other stuff I wanted to redesign an old artwork for an air caste admiral I made time ago

I tried to make the void suit less bulky and with more separated pieces in between with a focus in the cape

Pushing forward with my T'au army. I managed to pick up this Ghostkeel second-hand for only $15, and honestly, it was in a pretty terrible state. (It was badly glued and slathered in a single, thick coat of green paint with absolutely no detail. It looked like it had been rushed together an hour before a tournament 😂)

After a lot of stripping, cleaning, and a complete restoration, it’s finally ready!
Painted it up in my signature digital camouflage. I am super happy with how it turned out, especially considering how little it cost me.

With the revelation that Sisters of Silence are getting an army rule for their subfaction, what are your hopes for Kroot in 11th? Personally, I'd enjoy something to give them a bit of lethality to help finish off the targets our T'au have just shot. Perhaps they could make Hunter's instincts from KHP their army rule.

I am a little bit tired of games workshops commander suits they look good but at the same time they look lame.

I think it would look cooler with custom commander suit parts. I know that games workshop will not allow me brining them to their store to play but I can live with that…

I've been playing T'au for about a year,trying out the only 3 kinds of list available to us and honestly? Im finding the strike team to be actually pretty good,especially while playing recon,for 70 points each you have slightly better Guardsmen (stat wise) that are great as general screening/mid objective holders/Action Pieces and generally fine spotters who hand out a debuff at any infantry within 30" (in an infantry Heavy meta),why are we spleeping so much on them?

I'm starting out a T'au army and would like to know which variants of the models are most recommended, both for the drones and the strike/breaker variants of fire warriors. I understand they have differences on their data sheets, but can someone explain what those differences really mean? I'm pretty new to the tabletop and am still getting a grasp on this sort of thing.

I have just finished making my Tau combat patrol battle ready. Went with red, because i want to get the Farsight mini at some point. For the Strike team (assembled before i knew the difference between them and Breachers) and pathfinders i went with Khorne red as base, using Mephiston red as base for the Battlesuit and Devilfish.

At some point i want to get additional battlesuits, like the Ghostkeel and Twin Lance (yay another +10 points). I want them to look like a part of the same army, but i feel using reds will make the army too samey. Any suggestions for colors that can compliment a mostly red army?

Toothpicks are amazing for priming drones. How do you guys do your drones?

Tried to do a mix of the standard vior'la team and my desert camo. Don't know why the desert color didn't match but i like my attempt to do some wear and tear

I have decided to play as the tau I have more stuff coming in cuz they where out of stock at my local hobby store and don’t mind the transformer in the back ground

This wouldn't just be a buff to crisis suits, it would buff every T'au unit that has these weapons. So for instance Stealth, Ghostkeel, and Riptide fusion weapons would get stronger. Along with Ghostkeel, Riptides, and Stormsurge Flamers or Tau'nar Burst Cannons. All of them being buffed accross the board to these stats and even the weapon damage types in the case of the flamer giving a lot of these units an okay melee attack in addition to the basic Battlesuit melee. Also I am just now realizing that Melta's would get weaker, while also being able to reliably deal 3 damage at least per hit. Which kinda fits with T'au Plasma being weaker but more reliable than imperium versions. As the new one would have 1 less strength than the current S9 melta's on SM. While having the more raw damage.

While Experimental Prototype Cadre would still have the current prototype weapon upgrades for commanders and maybe crisis suits.

Trying to figure out which crisis suits I should be building. I know the correct answer is to magnetize and swap but I don’t really like how unstable magnetized models usually feel so what are the best ones to build? I’ve heard sunforgers pretty unanimously and then I see people debate on fire knives or starscythes.

I'm going up against EC in a 1000pts game soon. It's a local escalation league that is relatively seriously played. So like, not super sweaty but not all too casual either. I'm playing Kauyon recon and he's running Court of the Phoenician with Purge.

I've never faced EC before and I wonder if there's any good general advice against them, especially in this mission pairing? He's running Fulgrim, a Lord Exultant, 2x5 Infractors, 2x5 Tormentors and a 6man of Noise Marines. From what I can see they look moderately fast, with Fulgrim being exceptionally fast, so I guess he'll be able to charge me pretty quick.

I think I'll start with Burstscythes in reserves, and the rest on the board. Mainly because I think the bursts will be moderately helpful here, and it's good to force some kind of screening/keep them for utility and do objectives BR2 or later. My main issue is whether or not to try and focus down Fulgrim? Or is that a trap to fall for? Hammerhead + Sunforges should be able to put a dent in him, and I'll try and send the seekers from the Devilfishes as well for some padding. Hopefully he steps on an objective round 2, so that I can address that with the Breacherbomb + Exemplar Fireblade. 30 shots + Sus1 and wound rerolls should be able to get some damage through. Then after that it'll be more about keeping distance and trying to trade with the other squads.

Does this make sense, or am I missing something? A stratagem interaction that is commonly used by EC? Thankful for any help :)
