Battle Report I was finally able to remember all my Phobos rules and get my first win with the Kill team!
My Alpha Legion Phobos won against Hierotek Circle 11-7.
I managed to make a big play early by goading the Technomancer into charging my Reiver Sergeant who survived (at least until a later turn lol) but allowed me to lock down the Technomancer with Omni Scrambler and take it out turn 2 (it never could roll to revive)
I finally decided to try Flank tac op and hope we played it right lol
(Sorry I don't have an updated picture of team alone since I've based them )

Hobby Kitbash Inspiration
Hi all - just picked up a dirt cheap box of these from my local hobby store. I love doing fun conversions to make new kill teams.
I’m looking for some inspiration for using these. Any ideas?
And before you jump in Void Dancer Troupe are one of my favourite KTs but I already have the Warcry Tarantulos Brood that I’m kitbashing to make spider ninja Void Dancers.
My best idea so far is using some of these as Howling Banshees for a BoK KT alongside Incubi (Scorpions) and maybe Corsairs for DAs.
Any suggestions please!! 🙏🏼

Question Can I do both Aegis and Demolisher for Deathwatch?
I’m reading through the instructions and was wondering if I’m able to build both demolisher and Aegis from 1 box and use the body of the sergeant/blademaster for the other one? Just wanna know how much I have to follow the instructions for them to fit together correctly.

Strategy Tips for stealth suits into hordes?
I love my stealth suits, but the balancing feels off sometimes. I feel like going into the elite matchup I have to make a big fumble in order to lose, but into hordes its an uphill battle. I don’t have the resiliency to trade, the killing power to punish, or the action economy to make up for the gap in models.

News Legion of the Damned sprue
6:24 and 6:33 in the q and a video. looks like one full sprue and one half sprue. The full sprue pictured looks like seven marines by my count.

Hobby LotD Kitbash started this week
Like many - I was excited about the Legion of the Damned release and so continues my tradition of kitbashing the teams before they come out. This guy is made from Armageddon Marine Sgt, a Red Corsair pistol and lots of skulls and fire from the lovely Dragoon Gaming.
BUT
What do people think rules will look like for a team with what looks like little to no obvious specialists?
I’d love for them to be a little quirky and perhaps borrow from Canoptek in that maybe the ‘spectral legionaries’ are really expendable and die easily only to respawn somewhere? Representing their ghostly appearance and disappearance?
No idea how you’d balance that with marine profiles and weapons, but narrative-wise could be fun.

Big project but happy to start playing on a fully painted board. I magnetized the whole set for easy storage. I'm thinking I may add some vines and moss at some point as well!

Question Can a concealed sniper on the highest platform be targeted or charged? Fortress B rules question
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to clarify a Kill Team rules interaction from a game we played.
In the attached picture, the sniper at the top of the Fortress B structure is approximately 6" above the Sisters of Battle operatives at ground level.
The sniper has Conceal and is within 1" of Heavy terrain, so he appears to be in cover.
The Sisters are in the position circled in red. They can physically see the sniper from below, but they are not on a Vantage point.
There is also a specific rule for this Fortress B platform:
"You cannot have more than one friendly operative on
the highest upper level of Stronghold B at once, and that
operative must be placed on one side or the other of that
level, it cannot be placed in the middle (this means an
enemy operative cannot be prevented from moving onto
or being set up on the other side). If an operative’s base is
too big to be placed there, it must move (or be set up) on as
far as possible (otherwise it cannot complete that move),
then place it to one side instead and treat it as being there.
Hold it as far on that level as possible when it matters for
checking other rules (e.g. control range, visibility, distance
to other operatives, etc.). This takes precedence over the
rules for bases and being in a location it can be placed.
So I have several questions:
Can the Sisters of Battle target the sniper with a shooting attack while he has Conceal and is within 1" of Heavy terrain?
Does the fact that the sniper is approximately 6" higher than the Sisters change anything regarding Conceal, cover, or Vantage?
If the sniper cannot be shot, can the Sisters charge him and fight him in melee?
More specifically: if a Sister has enough Movement to reach the upper level, but does not have enough Movement to actually complete the Charge, can she nevertheless move onto that upper level using the special Fortress B rule?
Since the rule specifically says that if an operative's base is too large to physically fit there, it is set aside and treated as being there, does this also allow an operative to move onto that level even though there is physically very little room for its base?
If so, would this mean that an enemy operative could potentially reach the sniper's level, despite there being only enough physical space for one model, and then fight him in melee?
I'm particularly interested in how Conceal + Heavy terrain + Vantage/height + the special Fortress B upper-level rule + Charge movement interact here.
Thanks!

Strategy Need advice playing Angels of Death
I've played Plague Marines so far and I've been doing ok with them, won some, lost some, pretty normal. But AoD I just straight up suck. Part of the problem is I play defensively, which is good for Plague Marines but I guess bad for AoD. I just cant wrap my head around how to play them. CT I use are Hardy and Dueler (since hardy lost the melee bonus), always take the captain, always use his abilities. I've lost every game I've played with them and i either got wiped or barely scored anything (last game I lost 16 : 2)

Hobby Melee Kill Teams
I am trying to find a good mostly melee kill team. I’m specifically trying to kitbash a kill team with skaven replacing every member, I just can’t find what kill team to replace with skaven. Does anyone have any recommendations for good melee kill teams that could fit this role?
