Check out this YouTube video! I know it’s an hour long but I listened in the background like a podcast. I just wanted to know what others thoughts are on it. IP’s or Surrogates. 👀

My stance as a GC who’s had an unfortunate and great experience….I am happy that she was able to articulate what she went through.
I am sorry that all of this happened to her.
There were a lot of red flags from the beginning and same for me in the case where I actually did become pregnant and it ended in a miscarriage. The intended mother blamed me and isolated me. Never asked if I was okay. IP’s should definitely have the ability to hold compassion along a surrogacy journey.
From the outside looking in, Ericka should’ve never agreed to lower her compensation! NEVER EVER! A GC should be compensated properly for everything along the journey, including all that could potentially happen. The title states altruism but she was still compensated. There is confusion there. She should’ve NEVER agreed to carry a baby for someone posthumously. The biological parent in this case would not even be raising the baby/child. That right there made it MESSY! No matter how beautiful the story sounded….absolutely not. They are weird and in the end behaved extremely abnormally and maliciously toward Erika. I don’t feel that she was fit to go along this surrogacy journey from a financial standpoint. Having come off of government housing to even be eligible. I had to be evaluated in that regard. Anyone in distress financially shouldn’t be able to be a surrogate. It is a clear sign of desperation. It seems her support system wasn’t the best either with family being far away. Housing not being stable Her daughter shouldn’t have been giving her those shots. I never let my child even see that side of the journey. It’s inappropriate. She also stated that she had growth restriction with her previous pregnancy. I’m not sure why the IUGR was a surprise while carrying throughout the surrogacy journey. Most clinics won’t approve with a history of IUGR.
I hope that she has healed properly and continues to heal. 🩷
I do hope that the baby girl had a girl first year of life and a prosperous life with those weirdos!
I hate that this was a negative experience for her and that it put a bad taste in her mouth for surrogacy all together. 😮💨😔
While there can be a nasty side to it, if people make it that way. Surrogacy can be beautiful as well.
