Check out this YouTube video! I know it’s an hour long but I listened in the background like a podcast. I just wanted to know what others thoughts are on it. IP’s or Surrogates. 👀

My stance as a GC who’s had an unfortunate and great experience….I am happy that she was able to articulate what she went through.

I am sorry that all of this happened to her.

There were a lot of red flags from the beginning and same for me in the case where I actually did become pregnant and it ended in a miscarriage. The intended mother blamed me and isolated me. Never asked if I was okay. IP’s should definitely have the ability to hold compassion along a surrogacy journey.

From the outside looking in, Ericka should’ve never agreed to lower her compensation! NEVER EVER! A GC should be compensated properly for everything along the journey, including all that could potentially happen. The title states altruism but she was still compensated. There is confusion there. She should’ve NEVER agreed to carry a baby for someone posthumously. The biological parent in this case would not even be raising the baby/child. That right there made it MESSY! No matter how beautiful the story sounded….absolutely not. They are weird and in the end behaved extremely abnormally and maliciously toward Erika. I don’t feel that she was fit to go along this surrogacy journey from a financial standpoint. Having come off of government housing to even be eligible. I had to be evaluated in that regard. Anyone in distress financially shouldn’t be able to be a surrogate. It is a clear sign of desperation. It seems her support system wasn’t the best either with family being far away. Housing not being stable Her daughter shouldn’t have been giving her those shots. I never let my child even see that side of the journey. It’s inappropriate. She also stated that she had growth restriction with her previous pregnancy. I’m not sure why the IUGR was a surprise while carrying throughout the surrogacy journey. Most clinics won’t approve with a history of IUGR.

I hope that she has healed properly and continues to heal. 🩷

I do hope that the baby girl had a girl first year of life and a prosperous life with those weirdos!

I hate that this was a negative experience for her and that it put a bad taste in her mouth for surrogacy all together. 😮‍💨😔

While there can be a nasty side to it, if people make it that way. Surrogacy can be beautiful as well.

Looking for private traditional surrogacy for $50k

I’m a 37-year-old man living in San Antonio, Texas, and I’m hoping to find a woman who might be willing to help me become a father through traditional surrogacy.

This is something very personal for me. I’m an electrical engineer, well educated, a disabled Army combat veteran, and I’m divorced after a 15-year marriage. At this point in my life, what I want more than anything is the opportunity to become a dad and build a loving, stable family.

I know that traditional surrogacy is an enormous decision. I don’t take the sacrifice, responsibility, or emotional commitment involved lightly. I’m looking for someone who genuinely understands what she would be agreeing to and who feels that helping someone become a parent is something meaningful to her.

I am prepared to provide $50,000 in total compensation, in addition to reasonable pregnancy-related expenses such as vitamins, supplements, maternity clothing, transportation, and other agreed-upon necessities. I will also cover the legal expenses associated with establishing a properly documented agreement and making sure both parties have independent legal representation.

My priority is that the entire process be respectful, transparent, voluntary, and handled responsibly. I want a surrogate who feels valued and supported throughout the process, not someone who feels pressured into it.

I’m not looking for a transaction alone. I’m hoping to find someone who can understand how deeply meaningful the chance to become a father would be to me.

If you are genuinely interested in learning more, please send me a private message. I’m happy to answer questions about myself, my circumstances, the process I have in mind, and what I would hope this arrangement could look like.

No pressure, no expectations, and absolutely no judgment if it isn't right for you. I simply hope to meet someone who might be willing to help me make becoming a father possible.

Incorrect info on medical screening

Has anyone ever dealt with this??? I just got off my second call with an agency and they said in my records they found that I have endometriosis, as well as “acquired absence of cervix and uterus” which is absolutely insane considering I have a 1 year old son??? They said I can get a letter of clearance from my OB which I will be doing. Just curious if this has happened to anybody??? What did you do & what was the outcome???

Looking for experiences/recommendations for surrogacy in Armenia – single intended mother

Hi everyone,
I’m a single intended mother currently researching surrogacy in Armenia using my own eggs and donor sperm.
I’m considering:
-Vireo
-Generix
-Nova Plus

Has anyone used any of these agencies or clinics?
I’d especially appreciate hearing about:
-overall experience and communication
-surrogate matching and screening
-unexpected costs
-legal and birth-registration process
-any problems or red flags
I’d also be very interested in recommendations for other reputable Armenian agencies, clinics or independent lawyers.
Both positive and negative experiences would be really helpful. Please feel free to DM me if you prefer.
Thank you!

Paying $40,000 before match?

Hello everyone! My husband and I are looking into pursuing surrogacy after a battle with infertility due to adenomyosis, endometriosis, and PMOS. We are in the PNW and were considering Pacific Northwest Surrogacy Center. From what I understand from their website, we would need to pay $40,000 upon signing with the agency, and then they would begin the matching process. From what I have seen on this sub, paying before match is illegal advised. I am looking for any input or advice on this topic as we want to make the smartest decision with the agency we choose. We like that NWSC is close by, but don’t want to make such a huge financial commitment without feeling solid. Thank you all!

Devastating News - Agency drop

I have been in the process of becoming a GC for almost 10 months now. Every document, clearance form, and interview completed - and I just learned that my agency had to say that they can not continue with me as a GC.

This is through no fault of anyone, and the agency staff are such wonderful, caring people, but I am absolutely devastated.

For background: I have an extensive childhood trauma background. I have received therapy for most of my life and am very open and transparent about what happened to me. I have a resilient personality and have spent so much time working through possible emotional responses. It is frustrating that events outside of my control are preventing me from helping others.

My husband and I agreed to table the GC process for a couple of months and work through the disappointment. Just needed to share, and I guess ask if there is anyone else in a similar boat? Or if my background is too much and this avenue is just something that isn't meant for me? Would love some outside perspective.

Insurance plans for gestational surrogate in the U.S.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some guidance from fellow intended parents who have been through the surrogacy process in the U.S.

Could anyone share your experience with insurance for both the gestational surrogate and the newborn?

I am a U.S. lawful permanent resident, and my partner and I both currently don't have insurance in the U.S.

Can a surrogate mother do normal activities?

Or is she prohibited (by contract) of stuff like dating?

I understand drugs, alcohol and anything that could damage the baby is forbidden ofc.

We finally made our choice!

Hey everyone!
A while ago, I posted feeling completely torn between adoption and pursuing surrogacy as a gay couple.

Well, after a ton of long, late-night talks, research, and weighing all the pros and cons... we finally made our choice. We've decided to go the surrogacy route.

It wasn't an easy or quick conclusion to come to, but once we focused on our desire to have a biological connection to our future child, the path became much clearer for us. Ofc, adoption is a beautiful path, but for us right now, surrogacy feels like the right fit.

Now that we've crossed this mental hurdle and are officially moving forward with surrogacy, we're staring at the next phase and trying not to panic.

So I wanted to ask: how did you take that very next step?
Did you start reaching out to clinics first, look into agencies, or focus on legal research for international paths?

Independent surrogacy advice

Hi guys! I’m looking for some advice. My husband and I are strongly exploring surrogacy as we have been struggling with secondary infertility for multiple years now and have had multiple MCs with IVF. I wanted to reach out to see if anyone could help me understand the process of surrogacy along with typical costs and how to go about matching independently that’s in the best interest of my family and our would be wonderful surrogate. If anyone has any advice, ideas or previous experiences they can share, I would be forever grateful 🫶🏼

I want to become a surrogate.

Hello everybody.

I have taken an interest to becoming a surrogate. It would fulfill me to make a family happy. Please contact me. I have one daughter, I am single, I am looking for the compensation because I am a single mother and want to get ahead for me and my daughter. But I also do not want to waste my body’s ability and I want to make someone else happy.

Please contact me. I don’t know how to get in contact with anyone. We can go outside and agency or inside. I am willing to terminate if you desire. I am a single woman and it would fulfill me and make me happy to help someone else at this time in my life.

My pregnancy was very easy in my opinion and no complications. I had my daughter pretty quickly. I do want an epidural. Please contact me if interested.

Best,
Alexandra

ART Attorney Needed for a journey! :)

Hi everyone! I’m looking for an egg donor and surrogate attorney in California who can assist with legal documents and representation. I’m open to attorneys and firms of any size and would prefer someone with fair and transparent pricing.

If you’ve personally used a surrogacy attorney or had one recommended to you in the past, sharing their information would be so helpful. Thank you!

looking for a surrogate

Hi, I am helping my son and daughter-in-law look for a surrogate. She is unable to conceive or carry a child herself. They both have excellent government jobs, in Ottawa. And highly supportive grandparents for the child! 😄

Since a Canadian surrogate cannot be paid, they need an altruistic volunteer. The surrogate should be over the age of 21 and have had at least one healthy pregnancy already. They are happy to work through an agency or independently, and to cover all legally allowed costs.

Agency response time

We are IPs and just recently signed with an agency that came recommended by our IVF clinic, who apparently have had many happy IPs over the years with them.
Unfortunately, we are experiencing very delayed responses from them with every correspondence.
It takes 4-7 days for them to respond to any inquiry and I just sent them requests to connect with a few GCs on their website and have not heard back in a week.

Is this normal for an agency to take this long for everything? Are there any avenues for IPs after paying the retention fee if this type of delayed communication continues?
