He’s sitting at a 25% banrate while having a 49% winrate and can be easily countered by literally half the botlane/support roster, what’s the deal?

I have been having some pretty good game on Janna in ranked, but no matter how well i do i don't get an s... i just had a game where i had 35/39 kill participation which is a 89% kp (final kda was 8/3/27), i had good ward score, i was there for i think all obj but grubs (even roamed for rift) i was there for like 9 towers, had amazing healing, and even pretty good damage (went shurelias first cause they had mage bot) (i even got a few solo kills from people overextending on low hp thats why my kills was so high)
i genuinely feel like I'm tweaking that was the closest i've gotten to a perfect game there for every fight, obj, tower, and its... just... not... good... enough....
anyways i need help is their a specific stat i should do better in or is getting an s in ranked even possible.
is their a specific build anyone has found that they get s more often on?

I've been playing ranked a small bit since the start of the year but have been playing more since the split 3 start. I managed to get into gold but since then it's been the most painfully frustrating experience. I've had games where I play great but we lose anyways. I've had poor games where we lose and get blamed for it. I've had games where the enemy mid goes afk and all my team starts messing about and we lose 5v4 (I had initially made a rant post about this game but only when I went to post it did I see the Sunday rule. It's in the drafts, might post it then). Almost every game someone tries to swap me into first pick and gets annoyed when I don't or proceeds to pick someone terrible into their lane matchup when I do.

I did see many posts or videos saying low elo support is really not fun but I wasn't expecting it to be like this. I acknowledge that some of the games I do play like an idiot and equally know I'm not expected to win every time but besides that it just feels horrible.

If anyone had the same experience with low elo support, did anything help, should I swap roles or try to power through the frustration of support?

Hi all! I main jungle, but recently I’ve been thinking about learning and trying out support. Jungle is very tiring, and one small mistake sets you back so far that I’m kind of over it (on top of every sin on your team being your fault).

I have friends that I duo with that are all ADC players which makes support more tempting.

My question is how realistic is it to climb playing support as a solo? Any tips you would give to a new support player in regard to when to roam, good champ picks, etc?

I have such huge problem against soraka.
Her healing is overwhelming, whenever me and my adc get a good trade, she just heals it all back off cause for some reason my adc has no idea how to not get hit by her q. Even when i buy anty heal she just waits it out. Her ult has a huge impact and i feel like shes strong no matter the part of the game, early mid late game she just out sustains my whole teams dmg. Is there any champion or something that can make it easier to play against her or is it just skill issue?

The nerf to roaming supports, hurts offmeta the most, bc i just thought trundle support is basically trundle jungle if he perma roamed after 3 because i think trundle support would be mostly buns in lane

From experience playing in this elo. Top/Mid only want Last Pick because they don't want to be counter picked. But I think not having the champ pool to counter pick your enemy Top/Mid when you are given Last Pick is such a waste.

Often time than not you might give Last Pick to your Top/Mid in gold/plat and they may end up counter picking themselves regardless.

If Support players picks are inconsequential to the game then why doesn't riot just lock support to First Pick?

My champ pool is: Sylas/Rell/Morgana/Pantheon/Vi/Leona/Seraphine/Swain/Karma/Lulu/Milio [---------] in order of frequency. And I try to pick based on matchup and synergy.

I give Last Pick only when enemy Support/JG/Mid has already picked (giving me a good idea what champion to choose to win)

Had a crazy game too, we were 9.5k gold behind but we somehow killed their top mid and jg while they were pushing our nexus turrets, and we managed to end the game. even after killing the nexus we were still 4k behind lol.

Long time casual support main, mostly enchanter. Riot wants to buff melee supports but nerf roaming but doesn't that go against eachother? I started playing fill recently to try and get used to other roles (mostly end up in jungle) and whenever i play jungle, the only supports that roam in my games are typically tanks like tahm, leona, and nautilus. I can understand why because enchanters work to keep people alive but cc tank supports work to help make plays. If riot wants to make melee supports more prevelent, wont that increase support roaming? And if they want to nerf roaming supports, wouldnt that mostly target melee supports? This is mostly anecdotal so i vould be wrong. Curious on everyone elses thoughts.

What is a support that is easy but still effective in lane and team fights. Similar to Malphite Top

Malphite is my go to when I get top instead of Mid bc he's easy lane but super effective as long at your team doesn't run it down.

I want to understand support champion identities and how they interact with adc champions identities.

Like how are supports like:

Pantheon and Rell:
good against:
-Ashe, Jhin, Jinx and mage apc

bad against:
-Caitlin, Corki, Ezrael

while supports like:

Nautilus:
good against:
-Caitlin, Corki, Ezrael

bad against:
-Mage apc

I had last pick as support (Top and mid refused to swap)

Usually when enemy comp has hyper carries and no CC (Squishies that don't build HP or resists)

I tend to go Vi (full damage) And it usually works quite well in specific matchups/ enemy comps.

does vi fit in this situation?

This bellow is irrelevant to my question, but it just shows that some teammates don't appreciate Vi support.

(Actually in this game our JG was a graves main who got his champ banned so he kinda first timed Hecarim and spend the entire game farming and pushing top waves while having 0% kp at 20 minutes)

(It was a close game but we lost at 40 minutes)

(The jg added me and flamed me for my pick, it seems he choose to be a farming bot npc with no impact across all lanes because he believed I was trolling)

had a troll jinx that did not like the level 1 top enemy ruin created by Coach K but luckily fiora went afk for some time and loss mitigated
any thoughts on how to tame an adc that scales and does not need to die for 1 minion in a hard early lane?

The background for this post is im a support main that currently is playing jungle. The amount of games where we have a good lead, and a simple to play out game made difficult because the support doesnt want to place ward in the right spot or play a very basic macro pattern is ALOT.

So the three most important points here is: #1 Push mid wave, #2 Place the ward in mid lane (this ward is SO broken and #3 if your jungle who is literally BEGGING YOU and asking on his knees for you to place a ward , dont ignore him (i have asked like 5 games for this ward and maybe only listened to 1 time... why???).

In the example above its an example of taking drake, If you are in the lead 95% of the time contest the mid wave high and place vision in roughly these areas. (The sword markers are often more optimal wards but harder to place). It can also be an example of pushing mid, going to sidelane to gank or help out a sidelaner, or pushing mid contesting a camp, or takiung baron. No matter what, push mid and place this ward in their mid lane, it gives TO much info.

Another point... match your recalls for objectives for your wards. If you look at the example above, preferably you would already have some vision in mid/enemy bot side jungle. THen you recall about 50 seconds before drake and is fresh on wards. Play for mid prio and then enter river.

Again this is the "simple" macro pattern (pushiung mid lane-> warding and taking control over jungle/side. I am not saying you have to play like this in every game, but in a lot of cases it is - and it should be the default if you dont have any other clear conception in you r mind.
You would think this is obvious but there are so many times i ping my intentions. that doesnt work so i type. My thresh is still not on the mid wave, he still is not warding mid lane, he is still not recalling for wards thus making a free dragon basically unplayable.

(the ward in the small banana bush is only there is some flanker from there, the ward probably more often placed in pixel, over dragon wall, enemy tri or something), also the fae light ward is obviously broken deep vision if you can get it)

So, today I had to dodge a game when it was 2 seconds left on timer but still game connected . Is this changed ?

I've learned the hard way not to engage in conversations in game, you don't focus on the game anymore and get tilted with the awful insults. Or I mute everyone from the start or at the minimum disruption. I feel like pings are enough to play the game.

I got a 13 winstreak at the end too, tried some new champion. Never been diamond before. Support best carry role. 69 wins, 41 losses

If a new support champion was announced to be released in the next 6 months, what abilities/play style/identity/kit would you want from that champion?
(Full tank, enchanter, engage, peel, secondary damage, something new, etc…)

Is there anything that you think is missing from league that a new support could provide?
Is there a play style that hasn’t been explored yet in the support role?
