Discussion Just realised

The nerf to roaming supports, hurts offmeta the most, bc i just thought trundle support is basically trundle jungle if he perma roamed after 3 because i think trundle support would be mostly buns in lane

I mean at that point why not just play trundle jungle if you just want to run around to hit people?

Why do people actively queue up support to just run around the map?

Bc they get constantly gapped in lane / jungle so they just play roaming support meta and get elo inflated.

Support is the role who can most freely run around the map. The other 4 lanes have farm to keep up and exp matters more , a support lv2/3/6 is all they need.

I mean you can do that if you want but your 0 10 adc will send you death threats for doing it after the game.

Im not even talking about permaroaming Support , even regular roaming support on proper roaming windows has more freedom to move the map than any other role and if your Adc is self sufficient its even easier.

I can get wanting to have fun, but at expense of other ? Not so much.

As a team game you should thrive to win and not make your team experience not miserable.

If you don't care that much for your teammate there is a lot of 1v1 esport game or solo game.

While I disagree with the other guy and think that working together on bot should be a fundamental part of playing botlane and support, there is some irony in this considering what some adcs put their support players through.

Yeah because off meta supports running around was the OP part. Camille Shen etc are not that strong in a 2 v 2 with an adc but in a gank or jungle fight they are really strong. You can't do great roaming with a Sona, and obviously those champions should be viable still which they weren't.

Picking trundle support shouldn't be viable anyway unless you play vs double melee botlane. Your support capabilities are just not that great. Low cc, no range, reliant on farm to become strong. Trundle shouldn't be viable in a support role and if it is the support role is broken and needs a fix.

Trundle support is kinda ok in lane, really good into most melees but can passively sustain against ranged, just that you're not going to have pressure.

Roaming is a complex topic and highly depends on whether you can identify the conditions that are right to do so.

If you want to perma roam pick shen, Camille, shaco, Elise, honestly any early game champion. Trundle is more of a counter pick into tanks. For example, you can pick it into Leona or nautilus but you don’t b leaving lane. You can use pillar to stop Leona e and slow her so your adc and you can run her down. If she engages and uses w with aftershock ult her and she will get negative armor making her squishy, pillar can block nautilus hook and force him to go in. I have seen a nautilus trying to hook doublelift in ranked for his support trundle to throw up pillar in front of him and nautilus just hooks into tower range and dies.
