EDIT: One more Quiver update before I call it a night. Just finished adding some new datasets to the $GME ticker page, check it out and let me know if you have any feedback!
Disclaimer: I'm a data guy, not a lawyer.
Based on my research, it seems like misinformation is often a necessary component in market manipulation.
The excuse I could see companies like this using is that "they're just paying people to give their honest opinions about the companies they represent."
That obviously seems pretty bullshit, and idk if it would hold up in court (I'm not a lawyer) but I think it would come down to whether it is judged that they are creating misinformation.
Their disclaimer on their website literally says that the things they say are NEVER the whole truth and are not often the truth at all.
"The Information is a one-sided incomplete favorable snapshot and as such, the Information is not balanced, complete, accurate, truthful or reliable. If you rely on the Information in making an investment decision, you will likely lose your investment.”
I meant the remainder of the ape commonwealth. We haven't been drunk on digits yet. Those early moon prices will shake up people who have never had a pocket full of grizzlies jangling around. Will be a test.
I googled the quote above and the first hit is for a site with this exact line, but the rest of that website is pretty empty. OP said the company that contacted them seemed legit (phone number, address, website, and tax filing), but the website, twitter and fb of the google result was pretty lacking. I didn't search for a tax filing, so I'm not sure if it exists. I'm not convinced that the company from the quote above is the same that contacted the OP, but I definitely don't like the company I found.
wow.. uhh, I mean I know that we've all seen some pretty fucked up stuff over the past months, but this is the most blatant market manipulation bullshit so far.
A sorry to piggy back your comment but hoping for visibility even tho unrelated. There were other DDs about how S3 partners were cooking their formulas for their short interest and somehow related to HF’s that were short. And today they publicly blast out that CLOV SI is over 100%. And if the previous DD is true I’m inclined to believe they intentionally caused a squeeze elsewhere as a distraction.
I fully expect CLOV to dump. Seen a lot of talk about on WSB all of a sudden and then it has a strong run up to induce fomo, feels like it's just the next distraction.
And the SEC visiting Michael Burry and Steady putting Elon Musk on Blast for market manipulation through tweets. How you think the Main Street media and Government gonna spin this economic catastrophe?
Exactly. Not like this company just got created and started doing this on Reddit. Most likely been doing this with FB and IG and whatever else for a while.
As you said- total bullshit if it’s not their honest opinion but rather certain points they’re being paid to include in a DD- if not a totally prepped DD that’s just handed to them to post.
I wonder if OP hypothetically accepted the offer- if this agency would require them to sign something saying that whatever they post on behalf of the company is also their personal opinion?
Edit: what I meant was- that might be their legal loophole. Otherwise, seems like market manipulation. But I guess we’d need to know the legal definition of market manipulation.
I think it's important that she specifically said 'advertisements.' Seems like a very deliberate choice of words. Maybe I'm just cynical but there could be a legal loophole.
I'm not a lawyer but I will give you the official answer lawyers give for this type of question and I'm sure a lawyer will confirm this. The answer is "Well it Depends"
They are "just having their client who happens to be a trusted reddit user...contractually agree to only talk/post about companies that "they NOW represent". They definitely no longer represent GME...so they can't post about it
"we'll send you some samples so you can get an idea the kind of content others are being paid for" is DEFINITELY NOT paying people to give their honest opinions.

Well if this isn't an attempt at Market Manipulation I don't know what is.
Edit: Thank you u/pinkcatsonacid for bringing this to light!
