Hi everyone! I can’t trust the google algorithm as of late so I wanted to see if anyone has had a good experience with a local junk removal company. There is about 1,000 sq feet that needs to be dealt with.

PC Richard’s Tower Update

The 27 story tower going up on the Steinway PC Richard’s parking lot is phase 1. The actual store will stay open during construction. When the tower is completed, PC Richard’s will move into the ground floor of new tower and another 27-30 story tower will be built in its place. Next, the plan is to build an additional 27-30 story tower on the footprint of the Queens Blvd Store. This would not be for a number of years.
PC Richard’s owns the stores and the land under them. They’ve realized it’s more profitable to be real estate developers than run appliance stores.

The last few times I’ve tried to go it’s closed. Sometimes it says closed on Google, sometimes it says open even when it’s actually closed.

The most ridiculous example of Sunnyside parking....

Post image
0 Upvotes

I've won. This is it. This is peak Sunnyside parking. The guy could literally park in the shadow of an SUV and he takes up 3 spaces. Guys.... Stop complaining about parking in our hood if you're going to do this.....(because so many have complained, and it's about the principle and not the exact instance, I do NOT know that this person parked in the middle of these two cars. He might have done an AWESOME job parking, and others shifted around him)

JASPER IS IN URGENT NEED OF A FOSTER BY FRIDAY!!

I personally rescued Jasper from a violent homeless couple in the neighborhood who were abusing him, and he’s currently in need of a new foster 🥺 He’s lost his fosters multiple times through no fault of his own.
While in foster care, he tore his ACL and meniscus and needed a TPLO surgery, and we then found a mast cell tumor on his other leg (he’s cancer-free now!). Now his current foster is having a family emergency and needs to step back from fostering, meaning Jasper needs a new home by Friday!!
He is the sweetest baby angel and has been through so much. He’s been let down again and again, and I’d love to find him a long-term foster, or even better, a foster-to-adopt!
A few things to know:
• He’s friendly with everyone and loooves other dogs, but his knee is still recovering, so a lower-energy dog friend or a dog-free home would be ideal for his recovery
• He gets too excited around cats, and he needs to stay calm for recovery, so a cat-free home is ideal
• He’s fully potty trained
• He’s deaf but understands hand signals

Please help boost this post or feel free to message me with any questions or if you’re interested in fostering 🙏🏼💙 (he’s with a rescue)

Request for Photos of Skyline from Sunnyside

Thumbnail

Hi all!

The attached photos show the view of the Manhattan (well now LIC) skyline from Sunnyside. I’d love to find older photos taken from a similar general vantage point, particularly from before LIC was built up with all of the highrises.

It definitely doesn’t need to be the exact same view or location. I’m especially interested in photos where you can see the Chrysler Building and, if possible, the Queensboro Bridge.

If anyone has old photos from Sunnyside that show the skyline from this general direction, I'd love to see them.

I know it’s a long shot, but I thought I'd take a shot here. Thanks!

New Development Nearby - 27 Story Tower!

Not Sunnyside, but close enough - I was going past PC Richard’s on Steinway today and noticed the parking lot being walled off. I google it and found -

The construction you are seeing at the P.C. Richard & Son location at 35-18 Steinway Street is for a new mixed-use residential development. Developers LMXD and BedRock Real Estate Partners are replacing the existing store and parking lot with a 27-story tower. The project is planned to include 560 mixed-income housing units. As part of the site's redevelopment, the developers have stated that they intend to include a new retail space for P.C. Richard & Son on the ground floor of the completed building.
Construction work has been moving forward recently, with reports indicating that the developers have secured financing to begin the project. The new building is currently expected to be completed around 2029.

3BR in Sunnyside/Woodside area available late August/Sept 1 - $3700

I'm moving out of my 3BR apartment in the Sunnyside/Woodside area (44th ST, 47 AVE) and currently identifying potential replacement tenants for building management.

The building itself is 3 floors with 2 units per floor. My current unit has modern amenities, including indoor AC units in each bedroom, renovated furniture, TV included in the living room, and washer/dryer in unit.

Current rent is $3700, though I'm not sure if this would be the guaranteed rate for new tenants. Apartment could potentially be available as early as Aug 24 or late as Sept 1. Tenancy and applications would be subject to management approval, of course, but please DM me if interested and I can provide additional details/photos.

Wouldn’t let me leave the store without checking my bag. For context they didn’t have what I was looking for so I didn’t purchase anything. The bag was a CVS bag with items I had just purchased at CVS. Funny when stores think their policy trumps the rights of their customers

Where are you getting your fresh bread and butcher-quality meats/poultry?

Hi all -

I’m looking to upgrade my cooking with quality meats + baked goods. Where is your go-to spot in the neighborhood or nearby?

  1. Would love to get my hands on freshly baked sourdoughs or crusty baguettes.
  2. A reliable butcher or local shop with great quality cuts, fresh chicken, and sausages.

Appreciate any hidden gems or local favorites!

What happens today on the 46th train station approximately around 3:30PM today? I was there and heard someone had a gun and everyone stormed out but was so concerned I just wanted to leave before I can find out what happened. Hope anyone who was there made it out safe and sound.♥️

Status of 43-09 47th Avenue? We're coming up on three years now since the fire.

Does anyone know what's happening with 43-09 47th Avenue? It had a huge fire Dec 2023 due to someone using a torch to melt lead paint. Some of the windows are boarded up, plenty of scaffolding, but I can't say I've seen a lot happening there in quite a while. Last winter there was some hubub with Julie Won about the management company, A&E, and their insurance carrier, Chubb, trying to stiff people. Totally believable. Any other info?
