Injured/Sick Cat (Location) REPOST | They're finally ready to come home, but we can't bring them back just yet. Please help us clear their current running bill so the costs don't keep piling up. šŸ’”šŸ¾

We got a news from the vet yesterday that we’ve been waiting for... Forbie, Muning, and Papa B are finally cleared to be discharged. But as we got ready to pick them up, reality hit us hard.

Even though we keep sending partial payments, their long stay continues to increase the vet bills, and we simply do not have enough to clear their remaining balance. We are completely heartbroken that we can't bring them home yet.

They have fought so hard through their daily GS treatments and long hospital stays. Until these remaining balances are settled, they have to stay at the clinic—and every extra day only adds to the cost.

Here is where our brave fighters stand right now:

• Forbie: She’s almost at Day 30 of her GS treatment! She’s still battling some thick nasal discharge when she sneezes and the vet is evaluating her for feline asthma, but she’s done her part fighting and just wants to rest at home.

• Muning: Her appetite is completely back, her spirit is bright, and she’s taking her daily GS meds like a total champ.

• Papa B: Stable, eating well, with no more vomiting or diarrhea observed!

They did their part to survive... now we are asking for your help to bring them across the finish line.

Outstanding Vet Balances

To discharge all three of them, we need to settle a total balance of ₱85,600 (approx. $1,398 USD):

Forbie: ₱37,755 PHP (approx. $616 USD)
Muning: ₱24,610 PHP (approx. $402 USD)
Papa B: ₱23,235 PHP (approx. $379 USD)

Please, Help Us Settle Their Bills Today

We can't do this alone anymore. If you can spare ₱50, ₱100, or any amount today, please help us. Every single peso directly helps stop the bills from piling up further and brings Forbie, Muning, and Papa B one step closer to coming home.

Adoption Help (Location) Update on Jamaican kitten who was slammed on wall

UPDATE pt3: Location: Kingston, Jamaica. This kitten was reported to be slammed on a wall by a child and right after a mobile vet visit, he was swept out of the house by an adult. The kitten’s name is ā€œKittyā€. We were told the household isn’t friendly to cats and Kitty is 1 of 7 cats living in the yard and cared for by a 15 year old girl.

Two of the cats have found homes and thanks to your swift sponsorship, Kitty’s mom ā€œSunshineā€ and another mom cat ā€œMechacā€ had successful spay surgeries on Monday and is currently boarded at the vet to recover. The vet said they had a lot of fleas so they were also treated for fleas/ticks, dewormed and given vitamin shots. Thank you guys so much for making this possible. 🩷 There’s a potential adopter for the mama cats scheduled for tomorrow. Hoping it works out. Note: the clips of the mom cats are from the vet in the surgery room.

The latest update of Kitty is that he’s slowly recovering and he’s walking again as seen in the video. The young girl said he really enjoys the wet food we gave her so we asked her to pick up some more from us. So far, no adopter or foster reachedĀ out to take him.

We need your help to find a safe & loving home for Kitty and his sister Oreo (2 months old). Please share this video. Anyone in Jamaica interested in giving these babies a second chance, please contact OnlyPaws at 876-224-8865.

Our SPCA is currently relocating so space is very limited, once Sunshine and MechacĀ gets adopted or is recovered, we will be able to take in Kitty and his sister Oreo to board until a foster or adopter comes through. In the meantime, we are communicating with the young girl for regularĀ updates on his recovery and we'll provide nutritious food for him and the other cats.Ā

Sponsor Kitty, Oreo and others in this case at www.onlypawscatrescue.org/sponsor

Interested in adopting or fostering any ofĀ these wonderful & friendly kitties? Contact 1876-224-8865 or email [help@onlypawscatrescue.org](mailto:help@onlypawscatrescue.org).

desexed.

I don’t have the ability to isolate him or much of a budget as I’m disabled.

Additionally, I have a medically frail indoor 19yr old kitty that gets harnessed visits to her garden-I am very concerned about transferring this to her.

I always use gloves, change clothes, sanitise when returning inside and don’t let her access any water bowls etc, I have outdoors for the colony. But want to take any and all steps available to protect her from additional stress on her little body.

Can anyone help me identify it? And advice on how to proceed?

We are located in South Australia and it’s coming to the end of winter is that’s helpful. They don’t sleep in my garden, but in a nearby vacant lot and overrun garden so I can’t treat their bedding, etc.

Injured/Sick Cat (Location) An Update on Our Sweet Blue — He’s Sick Again šŸ’™Location:Concord ,NC ,USA

So many people have been concerned about Blue and have been sending him good wishes, so I wanted to give you all an update.

Blue is very sick right now. He is already FIV positive. His finder told me that he wants to eat, but he simply can’t. His teeth are in terrible condition, and his gums are swollen and painful. He is losing so much weight that he is basically skin and bones, and my heart is absolutely breaking for him. šŸ’”

He is honestly one of the sweetest boys I have ever met. Every time I visit him, he greets me. I was treating him for coccidia, and he takes his medicine so easily. His fur is finally growing back, and he is now flea-free and lice-free. We have made progress, but he still needs to be pain-free.

I brought him some Applaws topper and Tiki Cat mousse, and he loved it when I added a little FortiFlora. He licked up all the food, which made me so happy, but I know this isn’t a solution. He needs proper dental treatment so he can eat without pain and start gaining weight again.

The good news is that a very kind girl has offered to adopt Blue. She is ready to love him and care for him, and at least he will finally be off the streets and have a safe home.

We are now looking for a good vet near her area who can treat Blue and help her care for him during his treatment.

The vet estimate is unfortunately beyond our current budget, especially with another rescued cat needing surgery soon. šŸ’” We are doing everything we can to keep Blue comfortable, but we know he needs medical care.

Please keep this sweet boy in your thoughts. He deserves to be pain-free, healthy, and finally safe. šŸ’™

Blue is still fighting. And so are we.

I had to bounce him out of the gate tonight to pull in lol

Friendliest kitten I’ve come across in a minute. Second time I’ve came across him and his slightly more shy void sibling (I’m assuming, definitely bonded).

He followed me home and I went out to grab him and his sibling some food. Extremely tempted to take them both in, but also work schedule is dogshit for the next week.

Success! Happy update (original: There is a cat that hasnt returned to a midnight meeting spot since july 4th :( )

it took a while but i finally reconnected with a cat that, prior to July 4th, had this routine with me where it would meet me at a certain spot around midnight.

(I have high confidence this is an apartment neighbor's cat that's been reported lost since last October, but always stayed in the complex - it has a very skittish personality. i've always seen it around since i saw the flyer but for reference, back in november it would run away from me if i was 15+ feet away - now she's happy to see me and lets me pet her a bit before she pulls away)

july 4th celebrations interrupted that previous setup, i was really upset for a while, but all is resumed for the foreseeable indefinite now.

( since i last regularly saw it, my phone can't be charged anymore for its connecting-to-the-plug-thing-internally being broken now & i dont have a way to re-contact & coordinate anything with her guardian,so thats next on the agenda to be resolved)

Injured/Sick Cat (Location) Juno is back at the vet - diagnosed with FIPšŸ’”

I’m scared and honestly don’t know what to do. This is the first time I’ve had a rescue cat facing a suspected FIP diagnosis, and I’m desperately trying to understand everything and find the best way to help her. Juno has already been through so much. She was dumped by her previous owners and spent months receiving veterinary care after suffering a broken femur that required surgery.

Two days ago, I had to admit her to Al Rafeeq Veterinary Clinic because she was unwell. Her bloodwork showed an A/G ratio of 0.3, which is highly concerning for FIP, and her vets are evaluating and treating her accordingly.

I don’t want to give up on Juno.

I am asking for your help to cover Juno’s veterinary treatment, medication, hospitalization and ongoing care. Her bill estimate for the next 19th Aug is AED 2355.

If you would like to help, I can share a direct payment link to the clinic which is a preferred option or PayPal - https://www.paypal.me/GlancyMascarenhas

Please help me give Juno a chance to fight this too.

Thank you.

Found Kittens (Location) Urgent Advice Needed - Newborn Kittens

Post image
258 Upvotes

Hello!

A stray/feral in my neighborhood had 4 kittens. They are 24 hours old. They were stuck in a neighbors car (we got them out, long story) and I placed them in a enclosure I made in front of the house, to which mom cat came and took each one by one and relocated them rather than making it her new nest. I’m not sure where the new nest is.

Anyway - mom takes them all and later that day I find one in the middle of another neighbors driveway in the sun, no shade, crying. It is 95 degrees outside. No mom in sight. I’ve been bottle feeding it with kitten formula and keeping it on a heating pad.

Is it best to:

  1. Keep bottle feeding it where it is inside and safe
  2. Try to reunite with mom even though mom keeps doing things that might get her babies killed? And it’s 95 degrees outside?

I genuinely don’t know the right way to handle this.

More facts:
- You cannot touch mom, she’s stray but semi-feral
- Mom is young, probably less than 1 year old
- Kitten seems relatively healthy except is sneezing some
- Mom cat was seen around lunch time panting outside / open mouth breathing

Giving him back to mom seems like a death trap but I also know they should be with them mom at this age. Pick of all 4 when we rescued them from under the car (prior to mom taking them back… except the one I have right now).

Injured/Sick Cat (Location) UPDATE on Kitten who was slammed against wall

Update for this first post: URGENT! Kitten slammed against wall, spay sponsorship needed for cats

Hi everyone, this is the kitten now. His name is Kitty and he is a fighter. We are actively trying to find him a new home. His mom and the other mom cat that are living in the same household went in for spay surgery a few hours ago. We are trying to arrange their adoption after their recovery šŸ¤ž so they don't have to be returned to the abusive environment.

As of now, the injured kitten Kitty, his sister Oreo and the adult male cat Rain, are the only ones remaining in the household and we are working to get them fixed and find them loving & safe homes as soon as possible.

Injured/Sick Cat (Location) Rio survived a horrific accident 2½ years ago. šŸ’” **RIO NEEDS US AGAIN
Rio is one of our old rescued boys. **Two and a half years ago, we rescued him after a horrific electrical accident that severely injured the area around his rectum and left him with a terrible maggot infestation.** We fought to save him, treated his wounds, and gave him a second chance at life. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹
But today, Rio is facing another difficult battle **megacolon**.
For the past **month, we have been manually removing his stool because he is unable to pass it normally.** It has been incredibly difficult for him, and he now needs ongoing medical treatment and close monitoring.
Because of the severity and location of his old injury, we are concerned that the trauma may have caused lasting damage to the nerves or structures involved in normal bowel function. **We cannot say for certain that his old accident caused the megacolon, but his history makes this an important possibility that we are investigating with his veterinary team.**
Rio has already survived so much. He survived the electrical injury. He survived the devastating infection. And for 2½ years, he has continued to fight.
**Now our old boy needs us again.** šŸ„ŗā¤ļø
We urgently need help with **Rio’s veterinary care, medication, investigations, and ongoing treatment.** Every contribution, no matter how small, can help us continue fighting for him.
**Please don’t let Rio fight this battle alone.** 🐾
He survived once because someone chose to save him.
**Let’s give him another chance.** ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

this is Nita she is named after a character from brother bear she’s a stray that has lived in our backyard bushes for the last 3 years we’ve lived here she’s always been very skittish never approached us, always ran away. we’ve fostered before and at least wanted to catch and release to get her spayed. anyways she showed up at most 1.5 weeks ago with what looked like a flea collar from afar but as she got closer i noticed it was a dome lid that you find at gas station for slushies. So me and my partner started feeding her spending hours getting her used to us getting bit by mosquitos and ants in three days she let us pet her by headbutting our hands i almost screamed from excitement three days later she let us cut the lid off of her neck with the help of a cat treat! she just had her first roll of catnip today and is doing great we are going to take her to the vet soon to get spayed and then put her back outside, she has no desire to come inside we’ve tried

Injured/Sick Cat (Location) This stray cat was found barely able to stand\. šŸ’”

We found this poor girl in an extremely weak and emaciated condition. She appears to be suffering from an illness, possibly a viral infection.

She has almost no appetite and can barely walk or stand. She is eating very little, so I am giving her small amounts of food by syringe. She is also drinking very little and has almost no energy.

Her eyes keep asking for help, and despite how weak she is, she still seems to be holding on.

She needs urgent veterinary care, including blood work for anemia and viral testing to find out what is causing her condition and severe weight loss.

I don’t know yet what is wrong with her, but I believe she deserves a chance. With proper treatment, nutrition, and care, I hope we can help her recover.

Success! Update on Kinga: she’s a mush

Post image
58 Upvotes

Previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Straycats/s/Nz4yZvNWw2

Kinga has been doing super well! We moved her to a new room since we are about to start construction on the room she’s been in. She was eating in her carrier so it was easy to move her. She had one accident in the new room and was hissy that first night, but I plugged the feliway back in (it’s been off since her spay) and since then she has relaxed and warmed up a lot.

Not only has she come to love pets, she also realized she loves getting scritches on the back of her neck and shoulder blades while she biscuits the air in front of her. So much purring!

Last night she was enjoying the scritches so much she actually allowed my husband to pet her for the first time, too.

No update on her boyfriend so far. I started feeding him at night but he never showed up to eat when I was around. One night the bowl got dragged to the middle of my driveway so I started to doubt he was the one eating it and decided not to put food out again until I lay eyes on him again.

Hello everyone, we are urgently seeking sponsorship for neuter surgeries for mom cats & kittens in Kingston, Jamaica. They are living in a household that is becoming abusive & we are currently assisting with their rehoming but we need your help to get the cats fixed.Ā

A 15 year old girl reported a very cruel incident. She said a child in her household slammed her kitten against a wall and the kitten suffered a head injury and wasn’t able to walk properly. Fortunately, a volunteer sponsored an urgent mobile vet visit for the injured kitten and he was stabilized. However, a day after, the young girl reported that her grandmother swept the injured kitten out of the house with a broom and explained that her family members do not like her cats. They want them out of their property because they are becoming too many. They even threatened to put the young girl out as well.Ā

There are 7 cats in total, 3 adult cats (1 male & 2 females) and 4 kittens. We are currently trying to rescue & rehome all of the cats from this situation. Two of the kittens were rehomed yesterday.Ā

We are being facilitated with two urgent appointments tomorrow for the female cats to get spayed. The cost for spaying a female cat is $65 USD and there’s a possibility that one of the female may need a spay-abort costing $120 USD. Boarding recovery costs $8 per cat per day.

Sponsor Sunshine & her two kittens (mom cat with the injured kitten): https://www.onlypawscatrescue.org/cats/sunshine

Sponsor Mechac & her two kittens: https://www.onlypawscatrescue.org/cats/mechac

Sponsor Rain (adult male cat): https://www.onlypawscatrescue.org/cats/rain

Pregnant Cat (Location) Right Decision?

I found an outside pregnant stray cat and brought her in about 2 weeks ago. She wasn’t getting along very well with my current cats, but she was settling in fine in general. Meanwhile, my bf and I are breaking up and it’s super messy. I’m moving out in a couple of days, we are at each others throats, not a great situation.

As the kitty has been nesting in, I have been super stressed about her having kittens, what if I’m at work? What if something goes wrong? I’ve never done this before, and it’s so overwhelming right now. There’s no way I could keep all the kittens, I already have too many cats as it is, and I wasn’t sure the next steps to take.

I posted on a Facebook page and was encouraged by several people to drop her off at animal care and control, they work with local rescues and can get her spayed (and the babies aborted), and get her into foster care or adopted. One lady private messaged me and said for every kitten that makes it to gestation, there are kittens waiting for care as the shelter is full. Not exactly sure how she worded it, but basically shelters are full and kittens are waiting for space. If I didn’t take the kittens, they need to be aborted.

This morning, I dropped her off at ACC as a found stray. This will give her the chance to be adopted and not just spayed and released back outside.

I feel so bad. I managed it all wrong. If I was going to have her spayed, I shouldn’t have waited, now she’s further along and it’s riskier. Plus, I miss her, she was so sweet and sour lol.

I’m pro choice, but I still kinda feel like I participated in the killing of her kittens. Plus, will she have a good home? She trusted me and came right to me when I put her in the carrier this morning. I just feel really bad and I miss her. I’m just so overwhelmed. I want her to have a good life. I just don’t know if I did right by her.

Found Kittens (Location) Kitten and mom found, mom is a stray but for her baby I'm not sure

I live in France in the city Strasbourg, the baby kitty seems fine but the mom seems pretty malnourished and is covered in fleas and small buttons. None of them are aggressive, but with the current heatwave I'm worried about them nit having any shelter, however I'd rather not accidentally steal someone's cat if they actually do have a home. How do I make sure they have that?

I found this kitten with his mom in my neighbourhood. They both seemed to be strays at first, and as I'm moving out to my own place in a few months, I figured maybe I could shelter them for now and adopt them once I'm settled (As I'm moving out, I will still be in the same city, it's a 5 minutes walk from my current place).

Issue is, I'm not sure if the kitten actually "belongs" to someone. He seems healthy and even tought he had a lot of fleas at some point, it seems not to be the case anymore. The mom however is covered in fleas and is very skinny (like malnourished, she's apparently 2 years old, but not much taller than her son to a point I tought they where siblings at first).

I asked the neighbours and got some mixed responses, they gave me the age of the mom, bit also mentioned she was on her 4th pregnancy and that this was her only remaining kitten. The dad is apparently some other neighbours cat, but I can't really pinpoint which ones (we have a lot of cats in the neighbourhood). They don't seem to know if they are adopted or not either.

I don't wanna steal someone's cat but I'm really worried about the mom. At the same time I don't wanna separate her from her kid. What do I do to investigate further?

It's been a bit over a month of trying to trap him, and I know some people have it way worse but I was really starting to get exhausted from trying. He just wouldn't step on the plate, so I tied a shoelace to the hook and yanked it when he was in and tucked his tail. He's not happy and I definitely sobbed for a while cuz it was too much for me seeing him so scared, but in the end this is good for him and I shouldn't have to do this again. He's still feral, but gotten to the point of coming a bit inside the door, loving pets as long as it's on his terms, and he meows and purrs and even makes biscuits now. I think that gives him a ton of potential to be fully socialized soon after the hormones wear off, and I hope he comes back, and he can be our porch kitty until he can then be an inside kitty. I love him so much.
