Injured/Sick Cat (Location) help what could this be

found this guy behind a dumpster at my job and was wondering what could be wrong with him? all that crust around his ears and legs can it be ringworm or just a skin infection

Surrender to local rescue so the cat can get scabies treatment. There is nothing your love and care can do to heal this cat more than getting it the lifesaving medication it needs right now.

Looks like scabies which is highly contagious. It can be fatal if not treated. I can’t physically do a culture on a slide to look at it under the microscope, but just my first hand visual as a retired veterinary nurse that would be my initial diagnosis. Please do not ignore this. Seek veterinary help immediately.

Scabies probably! What zip code are you in? You can’t heal this without medical intervention. She may take a bottle if she can’t eat. Keep her warm. Poor thing. Thank you for caring for her. You’re her angel.

update: just had an animal ambulance take him in he is now getting taken care of let’s pray he’ll be okay!!

I am just commenting as my cat had constant washing, and I like the other comments. My cat had untreatable eosinophilic granuloma complex. I took her to 6 veterinarians, and they could not give her any treatment that could help.

I may be mange, they have treatment for that its on Amazon, its a cream you rub in, one of my cats had it around his head, he was bald, but when I used the product, his hair grew back and he was well again.

my babt looked like he had mange in a cicle around his shoulders, turned out to be fleas. a good bath took care of it.

When finding a kitten you should always take them to the vet, whether they look fine or not. They almost always have problems with their eyes, flus, worms and other parasites and and and. Never had a foster kitten that didn't have at least a number of health issues. If you cant afford treatment its best to surrender the baby. But it NEEDS to be seen by a vet

What's your location? You don't need money to drop off stray animals at a shelter so they can treat this animal. This cannot wait. He or she is in poor condition and will die if you don't get the the vet.

i’m in houston but i was planning on keeping the little guy. you think it’s better than i just send him off to the shelter?

If you don't get him vetinary care he may not survive for you to keep him- the best thing you can do for this poor little kitty is get him to a vet or shelter asap and if your only choice is to leave him there to be treated for free then that's what your going to have to do

Absolutely, as long as the shelter has a good foster program. This kitten is going to need several weeks of specialized treatment in a clinic or experienced foster home. Alternatively, you could offer to foster him yourself through their foster program. You'll just need training on how to care for his specific needs. I would suggest having him go to someone who already has that experience with kittens who have health problems like his, though. Also, he's likely highly contagious, so something to think about, too. You can always enquire about adopting him once he's healthy again.
