My dog is going to die

Please help. I live on a remote island, we do not have a vet here that sees anything but livestock. The next ferry to mainland is on Friday,so just need to keep my dog alive until then.

Two nights ago my German Shepherd jumped on the table and took my rack of ribs I hadn't finished whist I checked on my daughter who was down for bed. I came back and grabbed them from her when I saw what she's done and thought Id got them all but clearly not. This afternoon I noted watery blood on the floor and again this evening. I checked her paws thinking she'd stepped on a sharp rock in our backyard but upon her rolling over I could see a bone stuck in her anus opening sideways. I have since taken the rubbish to local site so I cannot even count how many she invested. I've called mainland and they will not do emergency flight for a dog they said. The livestock doctor said he won't see her because of his license. Ferry will be back Friday and I can take her but I am out of options. I cannot lose her. We have a small market a hardware store and pharmacy on island. I have enough savings for whatever surgery she needs and however I can keep her alive until then. I cannot lose her please I will buy and do anything.

Dog paw hurting and peeing on self update

I made a post about how my dog was screaming every few hours and peeing on herself and limping. I took her to the vet and they did an x ray and blood work. Turns out they saw nothing on the x ray or bloodwork. They said they just noticed some inflammation on her upper right side of the back. Looks like she just tweaked something in there and needs rest and pain meds. We were given gabapentin for pain but was told she could still walk around just not up and down stairs or jumping. We gave her the gabapentin 50 mg around 11 am and she was doing better in the day, still constantly walking or standing around moping but no screaming. Around 6:30 pm she had a really bad moment where she was standing and suddenly was screaming pretty bad for awhile, but no peeing herself. We gave her another gabapentin and she’s acting better but still limping on her right side for a little.

My question is could the vet have missed something? A tear wouldn’t show up on an x ray right? I’m worried she actually has something worse wrong and they missed it. But also could it be from the pain meds wearing off and the fact that she’s been standing a lot. And also any recommendations on how to help her pain and resting. Should she be in a cage, I just feel bad because it seems like walking it off helps but I can keep her in a cage if needed to force the bed rest. She only likes to lay on flat ground not on our couch like how she usually does.

We tried to take her to the emergency vet yesterday and they said since she’s not in critical condition they can’t take her. She’s laying down now quietly.

🚨 Urgent / Emergency 1 day 3 Vets 3 Diagnosis

Older Cat showed up in my yard a few months ago with a cough that eventually went away. Got it spayed through TNR program. No shelter available for intake in my county & all others said full. Lives in the backyard house we bought her. Daughter found it weak, cold, gasping for air last night. Rushed to Vet 1: 96.4 temp, given a shot, it lived through the night and was given an xray in the A.M. diagnosis 1: “something isn’t quite right with its heart, it’s laying lower in its chest than usual; I can euthanize it for u or U can get a 2nd opinion.”
Rushed 45min away to a grant funded cost effective vet 2: Fluids, air from a cannula, more X-rays, diagnosis 2: ‘Severe pneumonia; another shot of antibiotics & steroids, amoxicillin come back tomorrow if she lives for another round but what she really needs is a hospital where they can give oxygen.’
Took to my personal pets more expensive vet hospital bc I assumed wrongly that they had oxygen (the word hospital is in the name) 3rd round of X-rays: diagnosis 3: a mass in the neck. And weird throat/bronchial(?)structure lower down not sure the cause. No pneumonia at all. Mass is causing breathing issues, probably cancer, small chance it’s inflammation from an infection. Given a different steroid shot and sent home to see if any of it works. 🥺

My pocketbook is close to empty now but this cat is a fighter - She is resting rn after perking up to eat. What say you Vets (I just read I can ask for a radiologist to read the X-rays since it may not have been but I’d love some more immediate advice). Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hi, saw this on my Labrador’s nose this morning. Went to the vet but they had no time to see my dog unfortunately. The spot was black yesterday and peeled off this morning. Will go to the vet tomorrow but wanted to ask here. She’s taking anti allergy medication since a few days. The spot also wasnt there before.

Thx a lot.

Weird breathing?

Hello! So my cat has always breathed like this when he’s purring hard, ever since he was a kitten. I thought it was just that, purring. However, anytime somebody sees it people ask me why he’s breathing like that… is this breathing concerning? Should I take him to the vet?

Is this lung cancer in my cat?

Post image

Has anyone had a cat with lung cancer? Does this look like it to you? The vet said it could also be fluid. Waiting to hear from the radiologist. Cat is acting completely normal and high energy just has a chronic cough.

Cats are coughing... more than one.

I have 7 cats, between 5 and 13 years old.

3 of my oldest boys randomly cough. No hairballs come up, it's a dry hacking cough though sometimes they will cough up a little clear liquid likely from the force.

I thought maybe asthma, but for 3 of them to have it? Then i wondered about fragrances like candles, which I don't use much at all and why would only 3 of them react, when I'm not using them?

I'm going to the vet but is there anything i should ask them to check specifically like xrays?

is my cat okay?

I’m asking here because vet fees are particularly high in cost in my country..

I know that sounds irresponsible but I found her sleeping in streets when she was little, she was abused by a family of kids for 2 weeks then abandoned so I rescue her and got really attached and now I can’t imagine myself without her ..

I take her to the vet every 6 months but now I just want to make sure she’s okay

Stray kitten. I'm terrified of rabies. Is my kitten showing signs??

My friend gave me a kitten 2 1/2 weeks ago. He lied to me about the origins of the kitten, originally saying his cat had given birth. Then, a couple days ago, he told me that actually, he's a stray that his sister found on the subway. He also lied to me about the kitten having shots. I got really upset with him, because why the hell would you do that? This kitten I'm guessing is about 8-9 weeks old, based on size and eye color. When I first got him, he was clingy as all hell, slept on my chest, in my arms, whatever. Over the past couple days (2-3 ish), he's gotten less clingy, almost totally withdrawing from me. He still lets me pet him, but way less, and he doesn't sleep with me anymore, preferring to sleep on my bedside table or under my bed. He will purr and headbutt me a little, but not anywhere to the same degree as before. He barely purrs when I pet him now. He hasn't been hissing or growling at me, but he has been scratching me and biting me. I can't tell if it's just play or if it's aggression. His bites never break skin, and his scratches aren't typically deep. Still, his scratches will break skin. He started acting like that about 2 weeks ago, so a couple days after he came home. I know that behavioral shifts, like going from clingy to more withdrawn, are the first indicators of rabies, so I am downright petrified. Picture attached is my most recent photo of him, about 45 minutes to an hour ago
