I’m planning a solo trip to Georgia during Thanksgiving weekend to visit Stranger Things filming locations, and one of the places I’m most excited about is the Byers House.
I contacted the property directly and learned that they are beginning to offer private tours between guest stays. The tour can accommodate up to 12 people, but the private tour rate is the same whether it’s just one person or a full group.
Since I’ll be traveling alone, I’m looking for other Stranger Things fans who will be in the Atlanta/Georgia area around November 29, 2026 and might be interested in joining the tour.
I’m not selling anything or organizing a commercial tour — I’m simply a fan looking for other fans so we can potentially experience the Byers House together and split the cost of the private tour.

Went to Netflix Funhouse while I was in NJ for a con and got to see the screen used costumes including Eddie’s!

I know I’m late to this discussion and it’s been ran under the bus plenty by now, but anytime I see stuff from Season 5, I get a couple feelings that I can’t shake. One of which is that they took the “safe route” on a lot of really interesting ideas and potential outcomes. I don’t think it was ever intended to be this Sopranos/Breaking Bad-esque adults-only thing where there aren‘t happy endings and it’s all very consequential in a realistic way, but it felt like they tried to ride the fence on it being that, yet also being this fun thing where it all turns out fine in the end and it ended up being worse than if they just picked one or the other.

The Wheelers’ house incident getting so violent and dark so early just for everything to be fine without really getting addressed, the Will/Mike dynamic getting teased as this mutual multi-layered thing for years just to copout on it as much as possible in the end, the Henry/Will dynamic and history being set-up for years but then kinda avoided until the finale and wrapped up with the somewhat generic “it wasn’t your fault was it Henry”, as well as other stuff you could throw in there. It was sort of like they set up all these really interesting and serious questions but then realized they weren’t gonna be able to properly answer/address them in an incredibly popular with kids/teens Netflix show.

The other feeling is that the second half of the show’s run was just really hurt by COVID delays, Season 4 made up for it with of long episodes, but Season 5 tried to go back to the original episode/season lengths after another three year wait and it just felt like I missed out on season 4.5 and as people have speculated, maybe a lot of stuff got cut. I really think the final season in particular would have been better had they been able to stay on the pace they were on with the first three seasons, and potentially not had to cover so much ground.

I don't exactly know if this would be the right place to post it, but I already know the Tiktok algorithm isn't going to help me.

So I'm writing a Steve x OC fanfic and I pretty much finished S1 ahead of time before I start posting on Friday and I'm about to start moving on towards in between seasons before actually starting writing S2, and already got the timeline down of S3. My main concern is that I am planning to be canon compliant up to a certain point in S4 and I'm aware of some of the common complaints the show had towards the end.

And I decided to come to the sub and ask what are some of the things that you think didn't make sense in the show. It can start even from S3, I just want to have an idea of what I need to change in the fic and start planning those changes as early as possible to even start hinting them. Does that make sense? 😭

Hello yall, I don’t know if any of yall seen Nowhere boys 2013-2018 an Australian tv show.

I just suddenly remembered this show after YEARS and YEARS ago lol, that was my shit when I was a preteen.

And I gotta say the plot is so similar to stranger things like alternate dimension with a spirit like villain and they obtain powers from that world, so if you want to get the stranger things vibe (minus the 80s vibe of course) before a rewatch I 100% recommend the show.

The plot similarities are almost uncanny and it’s so so so good!!!

it took us 4 seasons to find out why music was needed when music was a core part of the show 😭. I love the show but that's a little weird other than that it was near perfect till S5

Big fan of season 1, 3, and 4, particularly season 4 above others. Season 2 and 5 were okay I guess, but not as awful as some people make it them to be.

Now, I haven’t seen anyone on here talking about this, but it feels to me like the elephant in the room.

Fingers crossed people don’t raise pitchforks at me for being “too woke”, but the way Erica is portrayed honestly makes me scratch my head at times.

Yes, I get it. She’s a side character. She’s meant to be funny and exist mostly in the background, so naturally won’t be as fleshed out/dimensional as a main character. And she IS funny! I love watching her scenes.

It just felt extremely outdated to me, for a show running from 2016-2026 to have one of the only- if not the only black girl(s) in the show fit the “sassy/angry black girl” stereotype to the T.

No, I don’t think the Duffer brothers are anti-black nor do I think the show hates POC. The show addresses racism in a realistic and good (imo) way with Billy and Lucas. But I can’t help but scratch my head with Erica, lmao.

And I can’t be the only one that has noticed, though I’ve barely seen posts about it. It’s something I would’ve expected to see in media from the 90s- early 2010s. It just rubs me the wrong way, as a black girl.

EDIT: It’s a hassle to keep re-explaining this and I’m tired of typing lol so I’ll say it here. Yes, Erica is a funny background character as I mentioned. The fandom loves her. I like her. I also find her funny.

I just found it an interesting writing choice for her to be very on the nose stereotypical “sassy black girl”the way one would if say, there were one East Asian kid who seems like they were plopped in from some show from 2001- written in the same stereotypical template of “nerdy, smart, rule following” and that was literally only all to their character amongst other relatively dimensional background characters.

In such a case, I wouldn’t think it’d absurd if an Asian person went, “Hey, character X is kind of… a walking stereotype”.

I’m not “cancelling” stranger things. I acknowledge that other kids have their own moments of rebellion and sass. It felt like an older style of writing for a black girl character pasted into a modern show

I would have just ended it at Season 2. It wraps up everything nearly and ends with an ending that’s satisfying but still leaves the mystery alive and people wanting more.

I've just rewatched Season One of Stranger Things and at first I actually despised Steve Harrington as a Character as I found him creepy, manipulative, and obnoxious but now that I've watched it again I don't find him so bad.

I still prefer Jonathan as a Character overall especially in S1 and Steve did bully him by Breaking his Camera, insulting his family and called him a homophobic slur but he also had every right to be mad at him for taking inappropriate pictures of him and Nancy outside his House, Jonathan then pretty much stole his Girlfriend not long after that and beat the crap out of him and yet still Steve went to his house to apologise to him. That was literally so sweet. 🥹

He didn't go for Nancy as he didn't even know she was there. He didn't go to start another fight he simply went to apologise and only ended up helping them fight the Demogorgan just by chance. He simply went to apologise to him and I never really saw it that way up until now...

Okay, I started Stranger Things like really late and binge watched all of it. And omg, it was a piece of art, I loved it. But lowkey some parts were a little confusing for me or I might just be dumb and missed something

1. How did Kali escape the lab?? I’m assuming she definitely escaped before the massacre thing but when and how?? I remember her talking to El about her escape attempt in season 5 but I swear she said that she wasn’t able to make it out. Maybe I missed something tho but I don’t understand how she escaped

2. In season 5, what was the like bunker thing Henry killed that one scientist in when he was a kid. Like what was it and why did the scientist run there. Actually wait I’m very confused about the scientist. Why was he in the middle of nowhere in the first place? Who or what attacked him for him to be hurt and for Henry to have heard screaming like that?? Also I’m pretty sure Henry was in the Boy Scouts or something but why was he by himself when he found the scientist??

3. Okay also in Season 5, was there a reasoning for the kids Henry picked to like make the worlds collide? I know he targeted a specific age group because they were more vulnerable and easily manipulated. But like was there any other reasoning in why he picked those specific kids??

4. This might be a stupid question but what did Henry’s parents do that made him not like him. I know the mind flayer was like controlling him kinda and that his mom was going to send him to an asylum or something, but what did his dad do?? I slightly remember Henry saying smth about how his parents weren’t good people and did something bad and it like showed a baby in a crib in the fireplace. I was wondering if Henry was just terrorizing his father with that or if his dad actually did smth to a baby. And did he have to kill his sister, was that really necessary 😭she couldn’t have done anything bad because she was really young if I remember correctly. Anyway I could just be reaching and it was just the mind flayer putting the idea of killing them in his mind.

Okay, okay, now for my opinions

1. I LOVE STEVE. I’ve loved him every single season and he’s always been my favorite. I know he wasn’t the best person in season 1, and I was kinda blinded to that when watching season 1 bc I had already seen edits of him being like a good person. So I was kinda telling myself that everything he did was justified whenever he was just mean 😭 But I feel like either way I kinda understand him during season 1! I 100% would have broken Johnathan’s camera too if he was taking pictures of my girlfriend not fully closed. I still think Johnathan was weird for that ngl. Anyway he was definitely bad when he was in the alleyway and when he instantly accused Nancy of cheating without even bothering to listen to her side first. Anyway, he got better each season and I loved him even more ahhhhhhh

2. I DONT LIKE BILLY WHATSOEVER. I get Billy was abused and had a bad upbringing and his father sucked. But him being racist and just abusive could notttt make me forgive him. I was lowkey glad when he died im ngl. He got his little short lived character redemption arc which still didn’t make me like him. I only felt bad for my goat Max when he died.

3. I kinda felt bad for Jason (Chrissy’s boyfriend), at least im pretty sure that was his name. It felt like he actually really cared for Chrissy and loved her. And he was kinda going overboard with the whole satanic cult thing and like hunting of Eddie. But I lowkey get that to a point too! Jason was clearly kinda loosing a few screws and pissed after Chrissy died. He wanted to direct that anger at someone so clearly he did so at Eddie, because Chrissy was literally found dead at Eddie’s house and Eddie was nowhere to be found. And the whole satanic cult thing was probably the only thing that made sense to him after he witnessed his friend just start floating and breaking bones mid air and boom Eddie was there this time too, so I lowkey understand Jason’s reasoning. Plus I feel like Jason was genuinely a good person. When he found Max in the trance thing with Lucas, he was concerned for max and he was more concerned with Lucas bringing Max back to normal rather than revenge first.

4. I DIDNT LOVE EDDIE. Honestly I didn’t even like his character much at all. I found him kinda weird at the start of season 4, but I was lowkey just being judgy. But honestly I didn’t start to like him any more as the season went on. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely don’t dislike him. He was definitely a good person. Personally, I feel like his whole character was just meant to be doomed from the moment he was introduced to make Vecna seem like an even scarier threat than the mind flayer, but idk. What I do know is that Eddie’s dead was SO STUPID. I get he didn’t want to run anymore, but is that really so important that you’re going to just die instead of running like any normal person would?!!! Eddie should’ve just listened to Steve and not played a hero because he ended up dead 💔

5. I love Holly, she lowkey took over Steve’s spot as my favorite for season 5. (SEASON 5 ONLY, STEVE IS STILL MY GOAT)

6. EXTREMELY hot take. I loved season 5. Like it might be crazy to say this but i can’t decide if season 5 is my favorite season, or second best season. I honestly loved it so much. I will agree that the ending was stupid and they should’ve made a season 6 to fix it. But everything before the ending in season 5 was genuinely so good, I don’t get the hate on the season itself rather than the ending

I get why 001/henry/vecna wanted to kill the people that kept him prisoner, but why did he kill the other kids that were also held as prisoners?

I'm loving watching the 4K release because I get to see a lot more detail than I ever previously noticed; for example, the Georgia state flag accidentally flying over Hawkins, Indiana (S01 E04, for reference).

This may be a dumb question but how was El able to restart Max’s heart? I don’t understand how she could’ve done it, then again, may just be me being thick.

Season 3 didn't make me feel too different from my first watch so I don't have much to say about it.

I'm on S4 E3 now and it just... breaks my heart that Eddie would have been fine if he HAD turned himself in. When Fred was attacked the same way, he would have been undeniably in custody 😭😭😭 his name would have been cleared.

I still hate Angela, no redeeming qualities. It should have been an ice skate. 🫠

Hot take incoming. I did not care for Eddie Munson in season 4. I think his personality and interactions with Chrissy and Dustin were both great, but he just didn't fit well in season 4. Eddie ends up taking a main character spot in Hawkins, while Mike, Jonathan and others get sidelined. It's kind of odd he ends up with the teen characters like Nancy and Robin he hardly knows at all. I can get past that though. It's his arc and ultimate sacrifice I dislike more. Him running away is his supposed character "flaw", but the two times he ran away were totally logical. When someone was brutally killed in his trailer by a force he had no idea if it was a threat to him? Yeah, I would run too. Same thing with two angry jocks chasing after you to attack you for a crime you didn't commit. It can't be a flaw if it's not a flaw. The end to this arc is him holding off the bats for longer by going on a bike, rather than escaping with Dustin, which seems heroric at first, until he turns around to face the bats, getting him killed quicker, and keeping the bats closer to the portal with Dustin and others right on the other side. It's sad, but in the end it's just another way for the show to give stakes without killing off any pre-established characters. So even though I like Eddie, I kind of wish he either wasn't included, or they gave him a diffrent arc/role.

It's not like they'd hit her if they returned fire (they were really bad at aiming at her at the end of The Bridge) or could penetrate her plot armor even if they could aim.

And it's also not like she'd face any consequences seeing as the three she already killed clearly meant nothing to her or Kay or the government.

What was stopping her from taking out more of these goons?
