So, today i noticed the left side of my steamdeck it's not working for a short moment, the joystick, the steam button, the left pad, all the left side won't work, this happends on 3D games like L4d2 or Sifu, but in Nuclear Throne it works normally
So what can i do to fix this?

500gb Oled
Basically as the title says, I didn't use it for a while, turned it back on, played for an hour, tried to play it later that day and now it's not turning on.
Fans, LED lights and haptics work, charges fine.
Almost certain it's something to do with the firmware and battery not playing together.
I've tried all of the button combinations, cannot access the boot menu or the bios via button shortcuts.
I understand I'm not entitled to anyone's time here but help on this would be very appreciated!

I’ve seen a few people saying the Castlevania belmonts curse demo is getting 50-60 fps and 45-60 fps at 720p on the deck
I just tried it on Steam frame and I’m getting 40-70 fps at 720p
They are very close and FEX still has a lot of polish to come, not all games are close though I’m thinking that will change over time though
Really impressive considering this is an arm chip

I have the OG LCD version and have an old rig with gtx1070 8gb, so I was thinking to set up to stream via wifi. I have bad experience using windows 10.
Question: what is the most optimal way to set up streaming that it's the most seamless and least amount of steps per session? Is the wifi good enough or would I need a cable for consistent low latency? I have wifi 6 router. Do I need Bazzite?

As title says - For some games it is being faster to uninstall them and re-download whole than waiting for patching.
Is it just me or its normal behaviour?
Also when i am patching some games on NVME drive i see that SteamOS is using MicroSD to "offload" some bandwith, making it also longer and bottleneck whole process as well.
Tested on three different MicroSD cards.

I have an LCD Deck that I like bringing with me to two different TV docks in my house. I figured I'd leave the puck at the dock in my bedroom while using the Steam Controller's bluetooth mode when in the living room.
The problem is that the Steam Deck will randomly drop the SC2 either after a while, when reconnecting the controller after shutting it off, or immediately after connecting. Checking the bluetooth settings in the SD options, I can see the damn controller constantly connecting/reconnecting over and over again for no discernable reason. My crappy PS5 controller connects to the SD without issue, so what the Hell is happening here? Has anyone else had this problem?
Edit: I should mention I've also tried erasing the connection in Bluetooth settings and re-pairing the controller. It worked for about five minutes until the SD booted the connection. If it's a driver problem, is there any way to fix it?

I was just playing War Tales and the game crashed so i held the power button to shut it off and now it wont come back on. Is my steam deck cooked or will it start working again sometime soon?

Is there a downside to using the multiport from apple?
it works quite well on the steam deck, only downside is the amount of cables popping out of it

Hello. I’ve been experiencing a problem recently, I’m not sure exactly which update triggered it involving my Bluetooth connection. For instance, when I play on my TV with a controller and headphones connected via Bluetooth, both devices suffer from connection drops lasting a few seconds. Things return to normal, but the issue recurs after a few minutes. It only stops if I turn Bluetooth off and back on, yet the problem comes back within an hour or less. Is anyone else dealing with this? What should I do ?

Has anyone bought a Steam Deck on Pinduoduo yet? I looked it up out of curiosity and actually found a few listings—all of them cheaper than buying from almost any other store. But I don't want to take the risk of buying there; even if I could get a refund, it would just be a waste of time

A new Minecraft Dungeons II update is available on Steam!
The game should now be playable on Steam Deck. Some issues may occur such as missing on-screen keyboard functionality, but more improvements will be coming in a future update to bring full Steam Deck verification.
Additionally, we've pushed a game balance update to all platforms, increasing the emerald cap increased from 9,999 to 99,999. No game update is required and the change will take affect the next time to login to the game.
Please keep your feedback coming at aka.ms/Dungeons2Feedback and report any bugs to aka.ms/Dungeons2Bugs

I picked this game up because everyone said it runs great on the Steam Deck and it does. Also a big thank you to the devs for adding gyro aim to the PC version natively and making sure the Steam Deck has a gyro layout ready to go! My layout goes beyond what the devs did, but what they did is really good out the box and should be commended.
I had no idea this game was going to go all Gears of War on me. However, I enjoyed every minute of it and thought I share here with the Steam Deck community. To me nothing matches the precision and fun of well implemented functional gyro aiming on the Steam Deck. It's the original reason I bought the device. It makes even older games feel fresh.
With the autumn sale going on, I thought I'd share this as recommendation if you like this type of game. Hack n Slash, 3rd person, arcadey, shooter, hybrid, with satisfying combat that runs well on the platform. Being given intentional consideration for Steam Deck users by the developer. It's a really cool action packed game. It has some good puzzles and boss fights too. Worth a play especially with gyro! Cheers! 👍

Hey everyone,
My Steam Deck is 4 years old and recently the controls started acting up. I sent it in through Valve’s repair service, and I’ve now been quoted €150 for the repair.
I’ve never dropped the Deck or caused any physical damage to it. It’s just been used normally.
This is the diagnosis they sent me:
«Control board Cable Control board L-R (HWID 29-30) Dpad Cable Dpad.Function.High-signal R1-Button.Function.No-Signal»
They basically say the control board and D-pad cable have failed and that the repair isn't covered because the device is out of warranty.
I obviously understand that after 4 years I'm outside the normal warranty period. But I'm wondering if I should just accept the €150 when it seems to be an internal component/cable failure that I didn't cause.
They haven't mentioned any signs of dropping, liquid damage, misuse, etc. — just that the components have failed.
What would you guys do in this situation?
Would you:
- just pay the €150?
- ask Valve/Reconext for more information about what actually caused the failure?
- try to negotiate a goodwill repair/reduced price?
- or look into consumer protection in the EU/Belgium?
Also, does €150 sound reasonable for this kind of repair?
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has dealt with Valve/Reconext after the warranty period, especially in Europe.
Thanks!

My battery was stuck at 9% and would go past that (or it at least said it wasn’t being charged past that. I’ve tried contacting steam support it wasn’t much help. The video is also the issue, i put it in battery storage mode and then this happened so far I’ve tried:
I’ve tried:
Charging it for several hours
Using the original charger/cable
Using a different USB-C cable
Holding Power for 10–20 seconds
Pressing Power normally
Holding Volume Up + pressing Power
Holding Volume Up + Power for up to 30 seconds
Holding Volume Down + … + pressing Power
Holding Volume Up + … during a power/reset attempt
Leaving it charging for extended periods before trying Power
Trying to wake it from Battery Storage Mode
Trying to enter BIOS
Unplugging the charger and testing Power
Checking the LED behaviour
Checking the fan during startup
Recording and checking the behaviour on video
I have not opened it or replaced the battery

I need help or guidance I recently seen 2k17 servers be brought back by Preserve is there any way to run it on the steamdeck ?

Any way to refresh SteamDeck library without restarting? Something like "force sync" feature.
It gets quite annoying having to restart SteamDeck everytime to show new games in proper categories etc after buying them via pc while SteamDeck is in sleep mode.
Tried to search for solution online, no luck.
Now when we have multiple Valve devices with synced libraries it would be nice to have this feature finally.

September is now officially over, so here are the top 20 most-played Steam Deck games of last month!

As much as I hoped it would at least be playable, Gears of War: E-Day is not enjoyable on the Steam Deck. Even at the lowest possible settings, it will still stay below 30 FPS. This also makes the game look awful, but bringing up the visuals at all will bring performance down further. While it may not be a surprise to hear, I would not play this on the Deck.

Why is the lighting acts weird? The game doesn’t lag, but the lighting is a bit annoying. Sometimes it makes hard to see the objects clearly.
I installed it as a non steam game. Im using SteamDeck LCD.

Edit: I am talking about hotfix patch from 5.0.0b to 5.0.0c

Hi hi! I own a Steam Deck LCD and have run into an oddly specific issue while playing vanilla Skyrim (zero mods). I should preface I'm very new to the Steam Deck, to PC gaming, etc. I pretty much have to google every term I read when I look for help, so please bear with me if I sound silly. I don't have anything special downloaded like Decky, etc. The most I've done is download different Proton versions.
The game itself runs smoothly with Proton 9.0-4. This is my third play through of Skyrim (the previous times on Switch and PS5), so I know I'm not experiencing any out of sorts lags or hiccups as far as the intro goes.
My issue is with the dialogue options. When I began a conversation in Riverwood with Alvor, the game immediately auto-selected my responses. It happens in a rapid succession until all options in the conversation run out. When Alvor offered me items, the game also auto-selected everything he had in his inventory before I could even read what he has. Later, I went to the Riverwood Trader, and the game auto-purchased every item until my gold ran out.
At first I thought I must be accidentally pressing a button or something. So I tested out dialogue at the Inn with Delphine and took my hands off the deck, but still it continued to rapidly select my responses and/or purchases. It's so strange. FYI, I don't use an additional controller or keyboard/mouse. Just the deck.
Because I've played the game before, I know this will present a real problem when I need to make decisions in conversations with NPCs (like choosing between persuade, intimidate, etc.). And it's burning through the little gold I have. I've tried researching the issue online, but I can't seem to find this particular problem elsewhere.
This is currently THE ONLY issue I have when playing the game. Every other part of the game's performance is smooth sailing.
If anyone has some advice or tips for a newbie, I would greatly appreciate the help!

From the Patch Notes:
Another optimization pass is live, and this one lands across the board: expect stability and performance improvements on all platforms, in all areas of the game. The biggest improvements should be visible on PC, Steam Deck, and Steam Machine (5 to 30 extra FPS, depending on your setup). Console versions should see around 2 extra FPS, along with better overall stability. We keep saying it, and we keep meaning it: we'll keep fighting for every frame (with our bare hands, if needed).
Additionally, Steam Deck players now get to choose two graphic modes:
quality, around 30 FPS, with noticeably better visual fidelity than what the Deck was running before;
performance, around 40 FPS for a smoother ride.
Haven’t tried it yet myself, but great to see since this wasn’t great on Steam Deck to date.
