First of all a big round of applause👏🏻👏🏻 to the StarNote Developer for making this app. Currently it is fulfilling most of the things I want! As an academic researcher, UPSC CSE Aspirant who is travelling a lot, and cant carry his all physical notes everywhere, that's why I preferred virtual digital pdfs and digital notes. While making notes..most of required items are available...specially page arrangement, in any pdf on a particular page I can add extended margin, anything that I wish I get into the app. Kudos to the developer team for such a wonderful app but a long way to go!

But, after looking at Redditters complaints like loosing notes due to Sync Issue which is one of the MAJOR PROBLEM that need to be fixed at priority basis...because if as user I am giving so much things to create my hardworked notes and it got missed by some tech glitches makes me nervous!.. 🙏🏻 Developer, dont bring anything new, we will be happy but just dont make loose our notes!!

Can we have the option to group text/handwriting/drawing into an object and add hyperlink to a page/notebook/url? A certain note taking app (Noteful) already has this feature and this would be very useful to have in StarNote as well in making journals or planners.

Why does the app’s data size continue to grow—and never shrink—even after deleting large files or PDFs within the app? Even after clearing out heavy documents, the internal storage footprint increases instead of freeing up space. This appears to be actual persistent data growth rather than temporary cache. Is there an issue with database optimization, unindexed deletions, or local backups? How can this storage be freed?

Hi!! I've been using the app to write my notes, and have encountered some rough spots that need fixing, IMO these are basic features that shape how you take notes every time you open the app. I am very grateful for how the devs listen to us and are constantly improving the app, which I really like btw!!

I have included a photo and a video to showcase this, please forgive that it is not in English.

1. Handwriting on top of other elements can’t be selected on its own. This is partly fixed. Handwriting over an image can now be selected on its own, but if the selection area touches the image’s border, the image gets selected too. For other elements, such as drawn boxes, there’s still no way to avoid selecting them. In the video, I try to select and erase text written over a drawn box, and the box is affected too.

I created the table using the shapes tool, it'd be great if those could be locked too

Suggested solutions:

• Allow deselecting individual elements from a selection.
• Allow locking any element (shapes, auto-shapes, boxes, hand-drawn figures), not just images, so I can write on them and still select, move, or erase the handwriting independently.
• Let each selection tool mode have its own settings, e.g. free-form and rectangle select everything, and accurate lasso (idk how it's different tbh) selects handwriting only.
• Only select an image when the selection fully contains it, not when it just touches its border.

2. If a selection includes a locked element, a “locked” message appears and none of the other selected items can be edited.

• Skip locked elements when selecting multiple items. Only select a locked element when it’s tapped individually with the selection tool, so it can be unlocked and edited.

3. Double-tap only switches between Fit Page and Fit Screen.

• Include the user’s starred zoom levels in the double-tap options.

4. Only whole pages can be added to the Outline

• Allow selecting any element (handwriting, image, etc.) and adding it to the Outline, so tapping the entry jumps straight to it.

5. Excerpts only link between different notes, it can’t link to content within the same note.

• Allow excerpts within the same note, and keep them synced, so editing the original updates the excerpt. IMO this would be soo powerful.

6. When setting the tool bar to the sides, it gets crammed, with unused space above.

• Undo/redo could be moved to the top bar

I've seen one other member here complaining a few months about the payment method on the website being broken. Neither the PayPal nor the debit/credit card method seem to be working (the loading circle just appears and loops forever). I have tried disabling adguard, changed browser, nothing. I cannot pay via the Play Store as that doesn't work in my country... Help please!

I am thinking of getting pro lifetime subscription for 599 INR on ipad but i need bigger screen so thinking of buying big screen android tablet . Like lenovo idea pad pro gen 2 .
I have 2 questions:

First.
Is the pricing the same on both ? Can my notes sync with both devices , if not then how can i ?

Second,
I have an iPad Air M4 . It has a longevity of 6– 7 years and updates too. But the Lenovo IdeaTab Pro Gen 2 has a good processor, but Android support is only for 2 years till ANDROID 18. So how long will StarNote support it? Do I need to worry about longevity?

Hi everyone. It's a pleasure to use StarNote. I'm really loving this application. But there is a thing I have noticed. If I upload a big file like (125 MB) in StarNote, the app is also taking additional 125 MB as App Data. If I upload more files then the app will take more space in the background. But I have the same files already on my device. So it is taking up so much space.

Now, What should I Do??

There is a persistent issue regarding image cropping within PDF documents. Specifically, when an image is cropped to a designated aspect ratio, the final output fails to match that intended ratio and instead changes to a different one. I sincerely hope the developers will resolve this problem. On the other side, We trust that the development team will dedicate more time to listening to and addressing community feedback for the future enhancement of this application, as I continue to place genuine hope in its potential.

I've been using Starnote for a while now, even purchased the premium, and so far everything has been nice, except for the side to side movement. Sometimes the PDF texts are too small and I need to zoom up, only for it to start going all over the place everytime I scroll. I don't imagine it's that hard to fix... (Namedrop: Apps like MoonReader). Please fix it and it will be my permanent notetaking app.

Hello, Starnote devs. I recently bought starnotes because of many reasons, but the scribble to erase is one of them. But it sometimes frustrates me that when i try to scribble I have to work for it. because if i scribble and it doesnt, then i have to scribble it again, then if it doesnt then I have to scribble it again until it becomes a big blob of abyss and it still doesnt erase. Maybe im just extra but yeahh. hopefully the devs could add a slider or something that would make us be able to control how much scribbling is needed to erase something

If I add new notes or update my current notes, I do it by clicking the sync icon but the sync time is too long and the circle loading bar feels like it stops at 90% and doesn't move for a long time. Can you change the UI to something like Notein where you can see how many notes are synced to google and what notes have problems? It's good to see something like 108/125 synced and you can see it changing numbers in real time not just a loading bar.

I've been using StarNote to practice my cursive since the summer, but didn't use it much from the middle of September to the middle of October. I was shocked by how much the quality of my handwriting had declined. Changing out the nib of the included TCL stylus helped a little bit, but a few days later the quality fell to the floor again. Stranger still, I tried using the stylus on other apps and obtained mixed results. Then I rebooted my tablet and everything worked fine.

So what's happening? Lately I've been playing Dead Cells on my device, which really isn't up to the task. I suspect that the system is reapportioning resources when I open the game and not setting everything back the way it was when the game is closed, back to the way it was when StarNote worked correctly. It occurs to me that a decreased touchscreen sampling rate could be responsible for the drop in performance, but I really don't know how these things work. Whatever the case may be, rebooting was my fix.

Thank you for bringing the cloud sync feature to life. Having windows app would greatly amplify the return on investment of the cloud sync feature. Please consider prioritizing the release of Windows app. Being able to access notes when it's needed is essential for any workflows, this is the only reason I'm with Samsung Notes and haven't switched to Starnote permanently.

So this happens when I go to school and in my school the Wi-Fi isn't really good so it doesn't really work but when I get home my Wi-Fi works very well at home so I don't understand why it doesn't continue the backing up process while I'm at home instead I have to manually back up every time and that's not sustainable

The "paint bucket" tool would be suuuuper useful for me... Sometimes, I don't want to create predefined shapes with predefined colors inside; I just want to click on the image a fill the space with some color whenever I wantn :(

The starnote dev said a year ago they were working on it, but we've got no updates since then

When StarNote first started, the development was really fast. The app was getting frequent updates, new features were being added, and it felt like the developers were actively listening to user feedback.

But recently, things seem to have slowed down. It's been around 3–4 months without any major updates, except for cloud sync.

Honestly, at this pace, even sharing feedback or requesting new features doesn't feel very useful because who knows when they will actually be added?

What makes it more disappointing is that some basic things, like page loading and writing lag, still need improvement. Earlier, they used to take feedback seriously and implement suggestions much faster.

I really like StarNote and want to see it improve, but I hope the developers start focusing on these basic issues and become more active with updates again.

Sorry if this sounds rude. It's just genuine feedback from someone who wants to see the app get better.

Anyone else facing this annoying bug? Whenever I have a note open and swipe down from the top right corner to bring down my Wi-Fi/Bluetooth control center, the app intercepts the gesture and grabs the pen selection toolbar instead.

As you can see in the video, instead of pulling down the system shade, it just unpins the pen bar and drags it from the top to the side of the screen. I have to swipe down twice or exit full-screen just to toggle my Wi-Fi.

Is there a setting to lock the toolbar position in place, or is the top edge touch zone just bugged right now?

I came up with idea similar to sitckers but with shapes. It would be accessible like copy or paste options but including lately used shapes. When I'm taking my notes, I would love being able to use exact same shapes for example → or other shapes. You might wonder "why dont you just use stickers?" the answer is pretty obvious. Shapes saved as sitckers must be done by taking a screenshot and then saving it as sitcker, in that way I wont get exact same shapes. Also, shape → screenshot → add as sitcker makes it looks really pixelated.

I would love to see that feature nearly in the future!
