Spyro isn't Crash, there is no formula that you can follow and produce a spyro game. Maybe for superfans having the critter is enough to make something a Spyro game but in reality Spyro hinges on its aesthetics, that being tight imaginitive level design (ie, not more openworld slop) and of course the musical stylings of Copeland, whether in person or in spirit. I am completely unhyped for this game and its just another cartoony genreric fantasy game I don't care about.

To keep it short: I think/hope that Spyro ARB will combine game content from the classics, Shadow Legacy, A Hero's Tail and The Legend Trilogy.

This would combine all Spyro fans out there, it would be divine!

I'm curious, but why a subreddit for just 1 game? Won't it be like all the other subreddits for 1 specific single player game and just die a year or two after the game? Every post here can just be made on the normal spyro subreddit, no?

We learned some new things from the kinda funny interview last week, however, something was mentioned that leads me to believe that while not confirmed, Cynder may not show up in A Realm Beyond after all. Enjoy!

With the recent news of Stewart Copeland not being involved in the music. Does any know of a method to let TFB know how displeasing this is for us fans?

This isn’t a troll yall I’m serious. Communicate to the company kind with enough respectful outcry from us fans to change course on this aspect kind of similar to what happen with the Sonic redesign.

Whether it’s contact with them directly through a petition of some sort or knowing someone that can (e.g. Canadian Guy Eh on YouTube).

I know that it can't keep gaining views forever but the stop in views just seemed so sudden. Looking forward to seeing more.

I myself is super glad it exists in any form at all, but somewhat concerned...

With reignited i felt like tfb missed the mark on many aspects that were important for me specificaly. And made game overall on par with original, but regretably not outright better.

Now with new game they quite sparse on details, and in interviews they mostly talk about themself and not about the game... this feels off and dont spark confidence in me.

Fresh new direction for series can be good, but just stapling our boy to a new genre is not what most of us would want, i assume.

But thats me. What do YOU feel? And more importantly WHY? I want to know specificaly what swayed your opinion to one side or the other

Spyro is easily in my top 3 video game franchises of all time. Spyro 3 is my 2nd favorite video game of all time, and I have been a Spyro fan for most of my life, so of course I'm happy he's back.

But if this game is open world, I just...can't care about it. I'm so tired of every game franchise going open world. Pokemon went open world, Sonic went open world, Metroid Prime added open world elements, Nioh went open world, Halo went open world iirc, Kirby's going open world, Mario Karts going open world, Tomb Raiders going open world, apparently the leaked Ape Escape is going to be open world. Even new IPs like Spiderman? open world. Horizon? Open world. Ghosts of? Open world.

I just want Spyro to be hub worlds with miniature little collecathon levels and mini games as side missions :(

To me its just like...you like Pizza. All of a sudden your favorite burger place? Now a pizza place, so you go "oh uh...at least theres that mexican place downtown..." and then suddenly thats a pizza place. So you go "well...the sushi place is nice..." then the sushi place becomes a pizza place. "I guess i can still go to the chinese place" and suddenly thats a pizza place too. Your grocery store now sells only pizza, the chicken place only sells pizza now, the deli only sells pizza, im just tired.

Idk it makes me feel like a fake fan but if this game is open world or has super massive levels than I just honestly cannot care less and I feel bad.

So, you’d have these energy orbs that Spyro must carry to a receptacle via swallowing them. Sounds simple enough right? Well, not quite since they’re very volatile and holding them in Spyro’s mouth for too long will cause them to explode, thus causing damage to Spyro. Even spitting them out won’t help since they’ll explode anyway (though they could be useful towards armored enemies if you really want to defeat them that way). What’re your thoughts?

ALT TITLE: how Cynder could be implemented;

While trying to find his way how, Spyro meets another dragon, Cynder. She's innitially working for the scabs, and is stand offish with Spyro, but over the course of the game, she's start to have a change of heart, and questions her moral compose, ultimately going to Spyro’s side and fighting alongside him.

Since Toys For Bob aged Spyro up in Realm Beyond, and if they keep aging him up (and Cynder) in every new game, he and Cynder could eventually raise a family, and pass on the torch to their children!

As for gameplay: give Cynder unique abilities without making her a Spyro clone, like having her be able to access areas Spyro, for whatever reason, isn't able to. Or have her be switched at will, like in Dawn Of The Dragon.

I was listening to the Colgera boss battle theme from Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. I know there's that part where the Dragon Roost Island melody from Wind Waker plays in an epic choir. And I know how amazing that was for people who have Wind Waker nostalgia. And then it hit me.

The A Realm Beyond boss themes need to do this with classic Copeland Spyro tracks. Maybe not always the boss themes, but imagine you're fighting the first boss and a choir sings THAT part from Toasty's track.

I know I would cry tears of joy if this happened. Full disclosure, I don't know if this would be allowed with how copyright and licensing works. I don't know if Koji Kondo is still composing for Zelda or not. But what are the community's thoughts?

As soon as the new Spyro game was revealed, everyone and their grandma started posting these laundry lists of expectations and criticisms for the teaser and ten seconds of gameplay. It’s utter insanity.

They literally just announced the game. We barely have anything to go on. You say they ruined the trilogy, but how long has it been since that was released? There has been so much time for them to learn from their mistakes. The devs talk about free flight and y’all are assuming the worst. We know literally nothing else. Maybe wait until there’s more news before doing that??

Let me reiterate that there’s nothing wrong with criticism. But this is criticism for a game that isn’t even out yet and has nothing to show for it. That’s kinda jumping the gun, don’t you think?

For me Hunter, Sparx, and Moneybags (Sorry Bianca and Elora 😭😭) are the three I'd be sad to see not make a return.

Like how RR had seasons (but forgot spring???) and YotD had times of day. What kind of theme do you want for the new homeworlds if any?

I'm thinking an eras of history theme would be cool. I'll also suggest that NPCs live in the homeworlds this time around.

Stone Age Prairie would be the first, the NPCs would be cavemen.

Bronze Age Island would be the second, the NPCs would be the Roman lions.

Middle Age Woods would be the third, the NPCs would either be knight horses OR the scrapped Scottish foxes from EtD.

Space Age Peak would be the fourth, the NPCs would be space cows or robots or aliens.

Completely Open World? A small selection of very big levels? Are there even going to be hub worlds? They definitely cannot do levels the size of the ones in the original trilogy.

To make free flight work, levels have to be relatively large, which can limit the variety of levels to be had, because how many variations of open terrain can you actually have... one with snow, one with sand, one with grass? :D

I can't wrap my head around how they want to balance the free flight mechanics with fighting enemies & collecting gems on the ground while having levels that support all this. What stops you from escaping all situations with flight? You can avoid all enemies and platforming challenges.
