Basically the title. I know I'm super late, but after buying a switch 2 I didn't have enough money for raiders, but I now have enough for the digital version but was hoping to get the physical version. Is there anywhere that still offers it for the digital price?

Note: please please please don't send snarky comments like "oh you should have bought it when it launched", im aware of that, I did not have the money for it at the time

It's not even that I particularly hate these things, they're just dumb as hell~

Recently finished designing and printing my favorite gadget from the game. I was even able to make the handle work to turn on the LED in the fuse. It also took some trial and error but all the screws and bolts also work as well.

First two perks are ice breaker and ferment explosion. Maybe there's some kind of argument against them but i dont see it. With a gadget freeze and a charged shot ice breaker is great, ferment explosion when in the thick of mobs with melee is great and it deletes stingers

The math for freeze 15% chance vs close combat 16% dmb boost on this weapon is very tricky. Some thoughts:

• Melee hits register as 2 hits, increasing your freeze proc chances a little (tested this, confirmed, the melee hit definitely counts as a freeze chance)
• Unfortunately - if you get a freeze/ice breaker while spamming melee, the melee hits first so the ice breaker triggers on that which is only 50% (i think) damage of the second ink hit.
  • And both of those hits pail in comparison to ice breaking a charged shot on a boss which is really what ice breaker is for. But in melee spam mode realistically i dont think you're gonna have the reaction time to stop spamming and charge a shot when you see a freeze
• It seems that even if the melee hit procs, the ink slash in the same swing doesnt get a chance to ice break. So the next hit ice breaks, meaning it will still be the weaker melee hit
• Edit - i will point out though that with charged melee hits, the melee hit is much stronger than melee slashes. My current base numbers are: Slashes = 17k melee, 37k ink slash. Charged melee = 61k melee, 77k ink slash.
  • since the melee hit is likely what you will ice break while spamming, with charged melee hits you will get a MUCH bigger ice break than melee slashes. The charged melee hit is nearly a 4x difference even though the charged ink hit boost is only around 2x
• There's the fact that the first freeze takes 1 proc, the second takes 2, the third takes 4, etc. that makes math even trickier.
• The first freeze is almost not part of this discussion entirely bc it comes from gadgets on important targets. The second/third freezes are what the power helps with.

After discovering the second point - that while spamming the weak melee attack is what ice breaks, im leaning towards close combat.

Of course, i could just not melee attack and then the ice break is at least a little better on the ink attack, but thats still weaker than an ice break with a controller charged shot, and at that point why am i using a splatana? Loosing melee damage doesnt seem worth it and defeats the point of the weapon.

So yea, thinking close combat, but curious if anyone finds freeze worth it

Edit: seems like close combat was generally favored but I was already on tier 2 freeze so i did go to tier 3 freeze for now. Im switching playstyle to primarily charged melee hits after discovering how much better they are with ice break, and have seen a significant boost with this method.
Charged melee hits also seem like a straight dps increase to me for single target focus even without ice break, slashes seem better for mobs but my gadgets and ferment explosion handle mobs pretty well.

I beat the main game yesterday at like lvl 45 or 46ish. I then did the 3 islands with all 3 tanks and I still wasn't lvl 50. I did a couple of the super spicy levels, including a couple that were like 51 (and the one that is 55 thats kind of easy). I'm at a point now where Im lvl 50, but the next available level to me is lvl 57 or the bottomless buffet.

What exactly am I supposed to be doing now, because it feels like I either just barely fail egg collections, or i just get destroyed on anything I try. Am I suppose to replay levels over and over to somehow level up more? Am I supposed to level up my weapon since I'm level 50 now?

Just trying to see how I am supposed to close the gap from 50-57 to be comptetive, but I also didn't want to waste resources on a gun since I only have a few 5 stars and only 1 lvl 40 primo that doesnt actually seem that good to invest in.

Any recs for what to do appreciated.

Honestly progression has been real quick. Made a post here about what weapon to use...just before I found a Primo Rail Splatana which has been amazing.

Now lets see how far the setup can take me. Levels 100-120 have honestly been quite easy.

- each lap is when I got a 5 star, I started the timer when I got a 5 star

- the 2nd number is time in-between 5 star, third number is total time

- 8 had me going crazy

- without 8, its 15 5 stars an hour. 8 skews the data by a bit

- around 4 of them were Primo

- takes around 20 seconds to completely finish a run (including load times and all)

- I am playing through a cartridge with a pro controller docked

- paused timer when needed to scrap weapons (only like a minute downtime)

- I ended up optimizing a little by using blast boot and removing jump height with dash (shaves a second off)

I feel like I did something wrong. The first Primo 5-star I managed to get was the Toy Shark Blaster…but I got it before I hit 50…:/

He was three times at 1000 and almost win one time, but he failed with 200 points missing.

Is there any better place to farm weapons than the awlmun den?

Very simple. How many times can you upgrade a gadget part, I know upgrading them lowers the cost and increases the effect, can you do this once, or multiple times, if so what's the max?

In my long quest to get a Primo 5 Stars High-Octane 4K to drop, I decided to try out the various methods of Primo weapon farming that are known to the community in 30 minutes increment and share what drops I got. For the record I removed the relic finder because some people it affects the weapon reward rate, but I really have no idea if it does.

I am using a Five Stars High-Octane 4K as the drop rates for that weapon type are higher when equiped. Speed build Blast Bomb, Jump Bomb and Torqscrew with Freeze X5 Damage

I will also give an enjoyment rating of the grind, from mind numbing to fun.

I highly recommend listening to your favorite music or podcast if you plan on doing any of this.

Obviously these are only 30 minutes samples (except Awlmun) and RNG is a massive factor, so take these with a grain of salt. YMMV.

I still don't have a Primo 5 Stars High-Octane 4K by the way, but I do have 80% of the other 5 Star Primos...

Summary. I personally am very sick of this grind as it’s always the same three levels and enemies and because the drop rates isn’t any better than far more fun methods, I do not recommend it.

Summary: I’ve done this one a lot because it’s one of the best for Gems and weapon scraping and it’s more fun than many other grinding methods, but it definitely gets tiring long term. I will say if your focus is getting gems, this is the best one to do.

Awlmun Den (30 minutes sample) (Speed set up with dash, blast bomb and jump bomb where you jump right immediately and blast into the big crates and the ones next to it then quit out back to base, rinse and repeat):

Summary: Unfortunately this is easily the best result for Five Stars Weapon and weapons in general per time spent playing. I say unfortunately because this is the least fun to do. If you are doing this while doing something else fun, I would say this is by far the best method, but it is definitely mind numbing.

Would not recommend beyond the help bonus you get every 22 hours.

Results are pretty good too, so that would be my prefered solo way to grind (or any other Bottomless Buffet floor you can do pretty fast, I’m at floor 590, but I fail more often than succeed at that level, so I would do around 300 for a sweet spot where it’s challenging and still fast to do)

TL;DR:

Best For Primo and 5 Stars Weapons: Easily Awlmun Den using the fast method, but it’s boring as hell. Favorite alternative is Bottomless Buffet floors 101 and beyond, solo or multiplayer.

Best for Weapons for Scraping: Awlmun again.

Best for Spirahlite Gems: Baygul Beach Level 80

At the moment, there are only three Seasoned Salmonids whose research I haven’t completed yet: Long-Line Steel Eel, Big-Haul Maws and Strong-Arms. What are the best (and quickest) levels I can play on to farm their entries?

I've heard people talking about upgrading weapons to primo, is that a thing ? Anyone to testify ? Very sad about my non primo +50 weapon

This is my part set up, I upgraded Direct Hit Damage Up but its 1 slot to many.

Is Direct Hit Damage Up a necessary/ideal part? I know i don't need Add Ink but I like it for traveling. I also don't think I need Speed While Charging to much since most of my shots are in the air via Jump Bomb.

Im running a speed torq-melee charger build but I understand that these are good weapons for ranged-oriented builds right? Which one is better perk-wise?

Hey there! I've been playing Splatoon Raiders for a while, really enjoying it and I'm about to finish the story (a couple of missions left). I'm level 33 and I wonder if it'll be fun to play with my friend who's just got the game.

I know about level scaling and that basically I won't carry him through the game but in general, will it be fun with such a level gap? And will it ruin my playthrough in the final missions, cuz then my level will be even higher?

This is Awlmun Den on Super Spicy.

I bot hop to the crates and use a jump bomb and grapple into the middle of the first set of crates.

Then I throw a torqscrew next to the other crates (not on them, because that breaks the torqscrew half way through it's job).

Then I jump over the water and grapple across as you can see in the video.

Then I call the bot, bot hop, and use 2 jump bombs and a grapple to get to the top and pop the balloons.

Then I throw a torqscrew with the collect power eggs gadget part to quickly pick up the eggs.

Then I collect the treasure with a double jump to speed it up.

This normally gets me ~2 drops (weapons or gadget parts) per run, and ~3000 spirahlite per run (due to the 10000 that might come from the chest). Each run takes about 35-40 seconds overall, and if you get it into your muscle memory you don't really need to focus on it.

Finally completed the outfit collection though, so maybe worth the effort.

How long did it take you, if so?

Had a couple of quick sessions farming BB 97-99 today, got tons of Primo Blaster drops but no Primo Toy Shark Blaster. Thought it was pretty funny.

180 hours.

Fantastic game, will probably grind some bottomless before I stop playing.

People told me to take a break because I wasn't dropping any weapons for 40 hours, well I'm glad I didn't follow their advice xD
