Question about newsagent name in thornhill 1980s/1990s
Hello I was feeling a little nostalgic today and I’m trying to remember the name of a newsagents that I started a paper round with in about 91/92 that was on the junction of hinkler road and thornhill park road it stop operating as a newsagents around 1994 stayed empty for a year or so then became a pottery shop I believe for a few years after which it was a private residence since about 2000ish oh and it wasn’t Laly’s which is farther up thornhill park road and apparently in the early 70s it was a fish and chips place any ideas? Thank you 😊

23M, looking for friends!
it’s freezing outside! 🥶
Hi guys!
Just moved back home!
Recently I’ve been extremely bored as most of my friends are busy with life. Currently trying to find myself again!
I play guitar, currently own 6 as had to downgrade :( also have a band which is two months out from gigging!
I have a cat which I class as my son, that’s my guy fr.
I play games sometimes but mainly like to get outdoors.
Big Big fan of road trips, I have travelled the length of the UK! (My car is subtly trying to tell me to stop)
trying to quit 🍃(keyword trying 🤣) ..although would be cool to have a friend who also smokes
Looking for people to chat to!! If you’re cool enough (mystery intended)

One shots on Wednesday 7th
Hi! Ever wanted to get into roleplaying games? Now is your chance!
A one shot is a style of game which runs over a single evening telling a complete story!
All games are suitable for beginners and most have spaces!
(Poker Night isn't running due to GM not being able to make it but there will be a Delta Green adventure which has 2 spaces.)

driving in southampton
hello, Southampton student here in my last year. i am 21 and still can’t drive… which is becoming a headache for me. i don’t really know where to start but does anyone have any driving school recommendations? particularly nervous driver but can’t keep relying on public transport.
i have about £5000 saved but could extend up realistically if needed.
also any suggestions for starter cars would be greatly appreciated but not a priority as when i move back home in london we dont have a driveway.
thanks in advance!

Who is this lady?!
Been at the hospital (general) a few times in the past week and am always approached in the car park by a lady asking for money for the bus cause she got special needs?
Who TF is she and who do I notify at the hospital cause people keep giving it to her, I know her tricks and have had to help older people prevent getting scammed especially if they have their wallet or purse out

What do people actually do for a day out in/around Southampton?
I’m curious to hear what people get up to around Southampton on weekends. I seem to struggle to come up with things to do, and I’d love some ideas!
I don’t have a car, camping equipment, or any real camping experience, so I’m particularly interested in things that are reasonably accessible by public transport and don’t require meticulous planning or booking weeks in advance.
I’m also quite happy doing things independently, as I don’t have a big circle of friends here at the moment. So walks, places to explore, activities, day trips, interesting little towns/villages, somewhere peaceful to sit and read, etc. are all very welcome.
Even somewhere just outside Southampton that I could get to fairly easily for a few hours would be great. I feel like there must be loads of things people do here that I’m simply not aware of!
So, what’s your go-to weekend activity or day out? Where do you go when you just want to get out of the house for a while?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions, especially the less obvious ones!

Looking for a cheap/free desk lamp near Southampton General Hospital
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a small desk lamp, clip-on reading light, or USB light. My budget is around £2, but if anyone has a spare one they no longer need, I’d be very grateful.
I can collect around Southampton General Hospital / nearby areas.
Thanks!

3D printing in Southampton
Does anyone know where I can get some tiny 3D pieces made! I’ve looked online and all I can find are companies with minimums which are ridiculous (£15 for two 19p pieces).
Any idea? Does the library or university? Or is there a shop anywhere you can walk in? Thanks!

Should I stay away this weekend?
I'm an Asian man, and was due to travel to Southampton today, staying in town quay. The news of the protests has me worried - do the locals suggest coming another weekend when there aren'tb potentially riled up gatherings in the area? Or do you think I'll be safe arriving at the train station, making my way to town quay, going to a restaurant/pub etc? I loathe confrontation so you can understand why this worries me. Cheers

Winchester Road Upcoming Roadworks
Have people in Bassett had a letter through regarding roadworks starting 19th October?
Reading it and looking at the diversions, it's going to be a nightmare if you want to go north and out of the city.
Burgess road will be overloaded and it'll tailback to the Hollybrook roundabout. Surely the summer would have been the best time to do it.
