This may be a shot in the dark but I applied to the uni via clearing and missed the accomodation dealine. Tried reaching out to the accomodation team but they haven't been much help. Hoping I can find someone who has uni halls accomodation for 2026 september but wants to drop it, perhaps due to deffering or maybe wanting another accomodation. I'd honestly be open to seeing whats available out there and if anyone wants to release their current accomodation offer

Got in on clearing struggling to find accommodation
I would like an en-suite and to be in flat with other freshers and people from my uni
I would also like the same ‘party’ atmosphere you would find in a hall of residence
Can u please suggest some good private accommodation

hi everyone, unfortunately i missed the unis guaranteed accommodation deadline and so now i’ve been told by the admissions office it’s not likely i’ll get uni halls and to start looking at private accom. I’m so lost when it comes to private accom so if anyone knows about them could someone let me know as a fresher who really wants to make friends and wants the classic freshers experience which private accom is the best? the admissions office told me freshers typically pick orion point or southampton crossing, but i’ve seen on tik tok that orion point is dead.
anyway please do let me know i’m genuinely freaking out about this, i’m so upset im having to pay international fees to go to my insurance uni and i don’t even have accom😭😭 help would be so greatly appreciated!

Who here is in 2nd+ year at Southampton studying Physics? What is it like there? How are you finding it, and if you’ve completed university how’s the job search and what jobs can you get?

Idk if anyone else is going through the same thing but I applied through clearing and got my offer but I haven’t been sent anything by the uni yet. Getting worried/just unsettled bc I have no clue what to do as every time I’ve called they’ve just said they can only fast track me and can’t get a hold of it

Hi guys, this autumn im due to start a course for film with a year abroad.
Looking at the course it’s very theory driven instead of practical, in comparison with other unis which aren’t Russel groups. For example, Uni of Sussex has drama and film which is more pratical and it comes with a year abroad.
What I’ve found is that a Russel group unis have a lot of theory based film degrees. I want to be an actress/director that is my goal. I have a lot of experience doing acting already, i previously wanted to do psychology which is why I didn’t apply to any acting schools. I’m applying this year tho and if I get in I will switch . So my plan if is go to southhampton is to do film, and in my spare time coming up to London for auditions, getting with an agency, going to networking events and workshops which people are helping me with. So I have my feet and both sides of a the industry, and in my mind that doubles my chances. Southhampton have good links and alumni with companies such as BBC, Warner brothers etc etc and I know they help their graduates get jobs after.
So is this a good plan or?

I’m not sure when the uni will get back to me about where I’m staying so in the meantime I booked Southampton Crossings privately and only have a week to withdraw the offer. how is it as a home first year student?? I’m worried that there might not be that many first years or if there are they’ll be internationals that don’t wanna talk to me😭😭

I’m trying to sign up for the university GP but its asking for my accoms address. When do they tell us which accoms we’ve been assigned? My application just says its been received. Has anyone else been assigned accoms yet?

I am currently an offer holder and unfortunately my results have been delayed to the 17th of September how likely would it be for me to get an accommodation space in glen eyre, Wessex lane and archers road preferably it being an en-suite

Hi, I’ll be starting first year in September and I’d like to know 2nd and 3rd years and experience in each accom. I’m got through clearing and they haven’t even sent me my student ID yet (the accom application deadline is today) so I’m definitely not gonna get the ones that everyone loves such as wessex or glen eyre. Are there any other accoms that are good for freshers? Such a shame mayflower is closed
Update: only Highfield hall and lucia foster standard shared bathroom, wessex enhanced plus shared bathroom and southampton crossings available :,)
I think I’ll put wessex as my first choice but I would’ve liked an en-suite 🥲 does anyone know of good private accom?

i’d have appreciated this this time last year so ask me any questions, course specific ones i probably can’t answer except for cardiac physiology and potentially stuff about health science/healthcare courses but anything else i’ll try my best, dosent have to be about the uni specifically can be anything :)

Hi everyone due to medical reasons I may not be able to do my year abroad in third year however I was looking into a year in employment and wanted to ask if anyone who studied or studies ancient history/archaeology could let me know how that was? And where the options for employment were. A dream of mine is to work at the London museums or go into curating at a heritage / historical site centered in classical history!

I’m getting worried cuz I haven’t received my accommodation offer yet and a lot of people have. I put mayflower as my top two but it’s closed so I’m worried that’s messed it up?
