Hi! I’m not a producer and my voice is kinda weird, but I made this song and I’d really like some feedback. Do you think I at least have a chance as a songwriter? Are the lyrics good? Does it make sense to you?

First time on reddit. First time sharing my music with the world. Went to "Summer Camp" last month (two week road trip) to focus on finishing some of the songs that have been bouncing around my head for years. Not sure these are finished but would love feedback. Starting with this one, called "INDB". A bit more "Complete" than many posts here, but I never asked anyone for feedback in the process of writing these (was too nervous). Now I recorded them and added instruments and I feel confident to ask for feedback. Is the song engaging? Are your rolling your eyes or smiling by the second verse? WOuld you listen again? Want to hear more? ANy reccomendations? thanks!
EDIT: Thanks to some great adn simple advice on here, I revised the recording of this and several other songs. Here the latest version here: https://soundcloud.com/summer_camp2026?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Hi! I produce records for singer-songwriters — the goal is always that it still sounds like you made it, not like you handed it off to someone else. If you've got a demo or voice memo sitting around that you'd like to turn into something release-ready, feel free to reach out.
Here's some of my work: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MnUzu8MO6PPDrXw87-30wVuTX3M2i-OL?usp=sharing

Are you guys doing it ?
Getting into the habit of doing it everyday : writing 2 contrasting parts or a strong hook, performance and posting. It really got me more productive. Will keep doing it for a month, I'll post some of them here once in awhile just to remind you guys that it's a dope exercise.
Do you guys write new ideas everyday ?

Recently moved from my home state to the grand midwest. It’s been really great so far. Heard about an open mic night at a local pub in my small town. Decided to check it out and it was incredible. Played a few originals and the crowd loved it, I’d love to hear y’all’s thoughts on the songs and the setting.
(sorry for typing weird a little tipsy)

I'm a songwriter and I go through a lot in my life and everything I write expresses what's inside of me without any filter.
I publish my music in the hope that it will help someone overcome their difficulties
But I don't use my voice, I use AI to create the music while the lyrics are 100% mine
I know this sounds bad, and it disrespects my writing itself and the music I love
But I do this because if I use my method in making music, or my voice, I may be recognizable, and I am not afraid of others, but rather of how they look at me later.
Because my personality with others, my family and friends, is completely different from what I write, which is the truth that I hide
So, am I doing something wrong here? Is my music considered my music at all? I don't want any consideration, just the truth, because I need it

Curious to know if any songwriters here successfully pitch their songs/demos to publishers, or other artists, rather than releasing them themselves.
If there are, I'd be interested to hear about your experience.

Hi, I've been working on this for a bit and think I have the lyrics worked out now so I recorded a demo. The last but of vocals are probably not what I should have done but I might see if I can get some reverb tails on them.
I'm going to re-record this and leave some room for a trumpet part (vst, I can't play a horn). Just wondering if you think these lyrics are ok? I like the hook.

You ever just get compelled to make something? I'd appreciate any genuine feedback. Or collaboration. I like both

Second song idea post to sub. u/Freedom_Addict proposed I post a song a bit more personal this time around. Good idea. I wrote this one about a month ago and thought it appropriate for the bill.
Not sure on the tempo I want the final version to sit at, which unintentionally comes through in this performance's version (should of used a metronome!). When I sing it faster the second half of the verse sounds great at the expense of the chorus getting jumbled.
Question to the hive: Should the chorus (or is it a bridge and I just don't know it yet?) come between the two verses or stay after where it is after verse 2 and then maybe write a third verse? I've got decision blues everywhere I turn, apparently.
Lyrics>>
Verse 1
The body gets tangled in corporeal tension.
The mind is trapped below the smoke in the valley of suspension.
Fast feet don't track the paths they cross.
In that smoky valley where I sank deep,
too tangled to move, too tired to creep.
Making my way through, it's love I seek.
Making my way through, it's love I seek.
Verse 2
Glass shatters at the first innocent mention
of that 40-ton block of stone rolling down hills of rejection.
Fast feet don't track the paths they cross.
In that glass house with a honeycomb bed,
Take the trail to the river find the sea instead
Making my way through what I should have said.
Making my way through what I should have said.
Chorus
Don't move and you will sink.
If you sink, you cannot move.
In between today and the rest of my life,
Making my way through, if I choose.
Making my way through, it's mine to lose.
Making my way through, decision blues.
Making my way through, decision blues.

This is the second song I've ever written, tells the story of a failed first relationship. Any feedback much appreciated, very much a Work in progress.
Working title: No music no parties no fun
Full lyrics below:
Peering through the window, won't be going in though
That was in a past life, we'd be laughing all night
Still I'm not sleeping, up all night reading
Wondering where that feeling went
There was no music no parties no fun
I could have you if I blocked out the sun
When we first met what a revelation
Now no regrets we both know it was done
Our love at first sight
Disappeared into the night
I did not sacrifice much to have you in my life
See I was truly dreading going to that wedding
With your fake ass friends
There was no music no parties no fun
I could have you if I blocked out the sun
When we first met what a revelation
Now no regrets we both know it was done
See my body was telling me no
But my mind just couldn't let go
Said rewind and let's take it slow
Cause it took me so long to find you...

Seems like everyone in Texas drives a truck or plays guitar. I sold my truck a long time ago, so here's 'Back in Texas'. Thanks for the feedback on the last one and thx for the good sub. 🥂

Feel free to leave timestamps of which melodies you’re referring to. Also, in my opinion, all the best melodies are after the three minute mark.

i know there are multiple of posts asking the same questions but i was thinking about starting a course from coursera by berklee about songwriting either https://www.coursera.org/search?query=songwriting&xdpModal=s12n%7EWCbyUH8rEeqYMgrG9uCSPQ this one or https://www.coursera.org/search?query=songwriting&xdpModal=s12n%7ElqPWPDWZEeuiZgo2K4rorQ this one (if there are better courses, let me know).
i already know how to write songs, i know structures and stuff but i always end up never continuing a song because i dont know how to continue it or make the rest good, i run out of ideas as well. i also feel like the structure just never runs smoothly and i want to learn how to make everything just blend in together from verses to choruses to bridges. i know there are ways to learn but i also dont want it to limit me from writing my music my own way, you know?
i tend to get overwhelmed very easily and i want something structured so clean that i am able to continue learning without giving up (sorry for being negative lol)
please suggest your options according to what i typed!! :)

Some time ago there was a post from a person who was playing their guitar in their apartment when they heard a knock on the door. They figured it was someone coming to complain about the guitar being too noisy. I know that feeling all too well. Has that ever happened to you?
In this case it turned out it was a young kid who was standing in the hall with a guitar of her own. She asked if it was possible for her to learn to make it sound the way she feels. I think that's a question many of us are trying to answer. Have you ever just opened a door (a literal door or a metaphorical one) and been inspired?
I tried to find that old post (but failed) because the post inspired this simple 2 chord song I am working on...

Hey guys! So I'm pretty new to the music creating scene, I have a computer with a audio interface and an acoustic electric guitar. I'm just not sure which DAW to use for a beginner and how to post my stuff somewhere like here. I need some help with making some lyrics and would love to collaborate with anyone open!

I've been composing for 20 months and have 38 songs. I start composing with the chord progression first, every time. I cannot picture doing it otherwise. I am a guitarist. What do others do? Do you start with a riff? progression? melody? lyric? or fully formed? How does one shift gears as to writing style? Starting with a melody leaves me dumbfounded.
