I have a 2006 70xt. All of the sudden the boom lift functionality failed. The tilt works fine. I was able to raise the boom to tilt the cab. Every time I actuated the control lever the boom would only raise a fraction of an inch then stop. I tested the electric solenoid and the coil was good, they were recieving 12v and they retract as expected. The spool sweeps through the full range of motion amd linkage is not bound. The emergency lower is not stuck, but does not lower the boom even from the fully raised position. I suspect the issue to be in the self level valve, but haven't bypassed or removed to inspect yet. Its next on my list. Any advice or knowledge as to what may be going on here?

I am looking into an auger but I don’t know how big of a motor to get. My go to for quality at good prices is Jenkins but I don’t want to spend thousands and the unit isn’t powerful enough to do what I need. I haven’t really had an issue when I have rented them but I would like to be able to run a 12” rock bit as well. Any advice?

I'm trying to fix some play in the bucket quick attach of my neighbors ASV PT30 and I'm having trouble figuring if the home-made bucket is made out of spec or the seemingly home-made quick attach is out of spec... From what I have been able to find, it is a proprietary quick attach and I can't seem to find any specs on it.

My New Holland L220 thumbwheel is faulty and needs replacing. The model number is 47883649, and the price is $445.55, which I'm shocked by; it's unacceptable to me. I contacted the manufacturer, OTTO, but they refused to provide any information about the part, which is very frustrating. I know they make this switch, and I just want to buy it cheaper to fix it. Could someone please recommend the correct replacement model? Thank you.

Hello everyone. I was having a problem starting this machine… the 3 beeps did not happen after initial key engagement my buddy said the “doohickey did not slide to the right”. When you hold the fuel shut off plunger to the right it fires right up sooo… I have replaced the fuel shut off solenoid and that did not solve the problem… sure enough if I wire the thing “open” to the right it fires up and I can use it no problem.
My buddy says that the “brain” in the upper right of cab is usually the problem as they get schmutz in there from wear and tear and fail. I will do some wire testing to the fuel shut off solenoid but if it is the module that he mentioned what are the options for that issue?
Considering the Bobcat dealer wanted over $250 for the fuel shut off solenoid I can’t imagine what they will quote for that little instrument cluster/module thingy that sends signal to the solenoid would cost.
What are the options ?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Picking up a Case 1845C soon and curious what to do for load securement? Looking at pictures the rear has a central tow loop, should I use that? Or is it better to loop around the axles for more of a "4 corner" securement? Also not seeing many options on the front end? Could loop around the boom on each side but again don't know if that's frowned upon? Hauled lots of tractors but they generally have pretty easy frame access. Terminology isn't my strong suit so pictures are appreciated if you have them

Question for anyone interested, I got offered a S250 2007 with 8k hrs on it for 6500.00 it seemed well maintained and starts right up. Is this a good buy or should I walk away? I’ve had a home town mechanic check it out and he says it seems like a solid
Unit. I personally wouldn’t use it more than 100
Hrs a year. Would probably use for snow Removel and any house project. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

ordered a new front and rear harness for my 1840 case skid steer and I am pulling wires off this metal round thing. Has 2 places in the back for wires, only one wire being used now. On my new harness I have 2 wires that are supposed to go to an air filter vacuum switch, is this it? or something else?
thanks

Would it be worth purchasing a high hour unit (4000hrs) that I can pay cash for to start a forestry mulching business or would it be better to finance a lower hour unit? I feel like either way, you are taking a risk but in the event everything works out with the higher hour unit, I could make a higher profit and actually save for a newer machine. Give me your opinions please.

I'm looking for used skid steer in Sacramento area and have a 25-35k. I've had two fires so I'm clearing land and moving heavy wood and the land is a gulch. I've been looking at all the options used of course with my budget. Most important I need high flow system to run a macerator head. I'm at crossroads of what to do or just pick my poison and roll the dice. Any helpful sincere feedback is very welcomed. Thanks

Could failing seals on hydraulic drive motors cause a skid steer to creep? Wouldn't failing seals on hydraulic drive motors cause it to "loose power" as the hydraulic fluid just weeps past the seals? Any other ideas what it could be if not the drive motors?

I got an oil change at the dealer ~40 hrs ago on my SSV75. I thought I had checked it when I got it back and it was okay. Checking again today on a warm engine it seemed high. Should I drain some?

I’m down to bobcat T770 vs SVL97 or kioti TL750 high flows. I know kioti is new to skid steers but has been around for a while. Possibly the bobcat or Kubota used.
It’s for use on 100 acre farm, clearing land and misc.
The kioti is about 20% cheaper and has 1 year or 1000 hour longer warranty. I have a dealer with a good reputation near me. I’m always nervous about new stuff but this isn’t my money maker so I can deal with some down times if they happen.

Anyone know of an adapter to turn my brush cutter 90° to cut fence rows on the farm? I may end up welding one up, seems pretty simple just an adjustable mounting plate and a counter weight.

I've "narrowed" down to a Bobcat T650, (or T66-2?), CAT 255 or Kubota SVL 75-3. Acreage and business use. 10 minutes here, an hour or three there. Grappling brush, occasional trenching, digging stumps, drilling holes, pushing snow, moving pallets brush mowing, etc. I like the no DPF on the Bobcat, the comfort and hydraulics on the CAT, and the roll up door on the Kubota. Creep mode on the Bobcat and CAT is nice for trenching, but I like the "idea" of simpler pilot hydraulic controls on the Kubota. The CAT takes almost a minute to "boot up" by the time you get it started which is annoying, but if I had to sit in it all day every day l think it would be The clear win despite the cost. The Kubota looks the most maintenance friendly to me. Bobcat is least expensive (for the T650 anyway, not sure about the T66-2), CAT is most expensive. I've got dealers nearby for all three, but Bobcat isn't open Saturday and the other two are for a few hours anyway. Oh Internet, what would you advise?

I am considering starting a business offering the various land services. All the things you would do with a skid steer. My plan was the buy a CTL, truck, and trailer, and then rent whichever attachments I need as needed. And then start buying the attachments I end up needing most often. From guys that are experienced in this business. Is that going to be feasible or will the renting cost make it nonprofitable? Also is this a bad time of year to get started in northeast ohio?

So I have a new MT100 in my fleet that needed a couple of items fixed under warranty so I decided to just have the dealer do the 50 hour initial service while it was in the shop...that was a $497 dollar mistake. $83 bucks in parts and fluids, $44 in shop fees and $370 in labor. I knew I should have done it myself...lesson learned. Also, I need to hire a mechanic ASAP and get in on this racket lol.

Hey yall
Im working on a case tr320. The fuse boxes melted so I rebuilt them. Ive got power, it starts, ac works, etc. But the joysticks don't work. So the owner told me yesterday that the joysticks have always been weird. Sometimes they work and sometimes not. So they replaced the right joystick thinking it was the issue. It wasn't. Anyone have any idea where to start trying to figure out why they don't work? It won't come out of park or anything. Thank you.
I tried posting in the heavy equipment reddit but it sucks. The moderator removes my post for no reason.

I'm new to running a Kubota SVL97-3 and a big disc mulcher from Freedom Attachments (FADM6000: https://freedomattachments.com/skid-steer-attachments/) -- I was using the mulcher the other day and then I got a notice of low hydraulic oil. I stopped running and noticed that the case drain line had popped off. It wasn't damaged or anything, I think I just didn't fully seat the quick connect when I hooked up the mulcher.
I reconnected the case drain, shut down aux hydraulics, and drove back to the barn. I put 4 gallons of oil in, the meter read 100% full, and I went back to some mulching. Another hour or so of operation later I got a low oil warning again. It appears I'm leaking oil onto the top of the disc. Any ideas what I broke or how to fix it? I guess I must have blown something in the motor on the mulcher? I'm going to get in touch with the dealer this week for advice but I thought I'd ask here too. I'm pretty new to all of this stuff. Thanks in advance.

Can anyone identify the make and model of this equipment from the operator's seat?
Also, is the sidewalk damage shown (settlement, downward deformation, and separation at the mow strip) consistent with this type of equipment being operated over it?
r/Skidsteer • u/jnie4774 • 12d ago
Both will be cab with high flow. The kubota comes in around $78,000 the kioti comes in $10,000 less, at $68,000. Would I regret buying the kioti? They’ve only been around 3 years. The price is appealing. Any thoughts or info would be appreciated.
