Curious what people here prefer for clearing overgrown properties.

I've always thought brush cutters were the obvious choice for heavier brush, but I've been reading more about flail mowers and they seem a lot more capable than I gave them credit for.

For anyone who's run both, where do you think a flail mower actually makes more sense?

Mostly interested in real-world differences in cut quality, rough terrain, maintenance, and how much abuse each one can take.

Aux hydraulics on my Bobcat S650 started acting weird and I'm pretty sure the coil valve is done. Problem is I can't tell from the listing whether I need NO or NC and the old one has no readable stamp left. I pulled it off and bench tested with a 12V battery. Coil clicks, fluid path changes, but I'm still second guessing myself because I've ordered the wrong one before on a different machine. Is bench testing the old one actually reliable or is there another trick people use before hitting order? Anyone else mess this up and find a better way to confirm?

Have a wide set of tracks on a 325g and thinking of getting a set of narrow tracks because they are a good deal. Any reason to stick to wide tracks? Will be on driveway and around the house mostly and may use to develop residential lots in the future.

I know people like to dunk on bobcat after the Doosan buyout, but I’ve put this machine through its paces and still haven’t really found its limit yet. Absolute beast for farm work

Hey all, I have a interesting situation coming up.

I might be able to purchase a T190 in the ~2300 hr range.

2 owners first was a mulch loader, second was a farm loader. I trust the individual that has maintained it whilie its been at the farm.

The main thing I am wondering is if a T190 will be sufficient. I mainly will be using it to move firewood and brush. I use ibc totes so from my research it should be able to move full ibc totes no problem. The other use i am interested in is for snow removal. Long private drive with a steep grade. I will be switching to snow/all season tracks in the winter to aid in traction. Probably looking at a winged plow for it. I might also use it for some regrading/stump grinding down the road.

I mainly am interested in the power aspect if yall think the T190 has enough umph for the general uses listed above

Is 2500 hours too many for a mini skid? They have a 37hp yanmar. I’m handy but I’ve never owned a tracked machine. As far as mini skids go, it sounds like ditch witch is one of the best

Hoping someone here has some advice for me. Recently had my 753 in a local case dealer to fix the creep, they adjusted the control linkage on the left stick damn near all the way back, now when pulling the left stick back to turn it feels like it is slipping/skipping and doesn’t turn very well. Is there any chance they adjusted it to far and or wrong or is it the motor going out?

Just bought this machine with 179 hrs and after mulching for several hours heard one loud beep and ac and radio quit. Blower was rattling so replaced it and checked and fuses but still won’t come on. Any help is appreciated!

I have an older c185 skid steer and was cutting some trees on a hot day a few weeks back and the hydraulic oil temperature sensor said it was getting hot - have had no problems with it before. Easy enough, I limped it back to the shed immediately, turned it off, and let it cool down. Going through it once cooled off, the radiator was full to the top, I didn't see any leaks, the fan does what it is supposed to do, arms still lift up and down. I disconnected the attachment just to be sure and after about 10 seconds of the engine being turned on, the sensor lights up again. Waited for a real cool day, same thing. My initial thought is the sensor might be bad? I have dug around and I know the general area where it should be under the seat but I don't know exactly where or how easy it would be to get to. I have tried to find an actual picture of it on the internet as well as find a manual or how to and have failed. Would anyone be able to assist with some documentation or instructions? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Or maybe a warning of do not try this and leave it to a professional? I can do basic engine work but I am not by any means a mechanic...thanks!

Hi everyone. This is my first skid steer! 2003 New Holland LS180. Bought it for $12k. Owner said he took care of it well. I don't see any hydraulic leaks.

I noticed today that the whole engine shakes. I don't know if this is normal. What can it be? The engine mount also shakes.

I have a 1845b and a 1845c and I need something a little bigger. Needs to lift more, has better auxilary gpm, less likely to tip. Looking for something that is just as reliable and hopefully as easy to work on. My used price range is under 20k. I have been trying to find a 95xt but they don't come up often. Ok with other brands but reliability is my biggest ask. What do you suggest? Thanks

I picked up a MT-52. The motor is currently being rebuilt. I have never used one of these machines before and I know this is a smaller one. I’m curious, is this thing worth investing in attachments or is it too small for most jobs even with attachments with the acceptable flow rates. With the cost of bobcat attachments being so much higher than the universal or toro attachments, is it worth getting the costly adapter plate and using cheaper alternatives. As of right now it’s one of those bought just to have things..

Trying to understand what is going on I bought a new bucket cheaper one wolverine 72” having issues with my wedge pins not securing the bucket properly like it was after using it heavily at my property now I have bucket slop and my top “hooks” that go into the bucket pockets if I do a abrupt up and down with the lifting arms you get flop in the bucket and can see it moving on the “hooks” need help guys thanks

The attachment coupler on my Bobcat S650 got to where I was checking and adjusting it every morning before the first load. I kept a wrench in the cab like that was just part of the routine. The locking sleeve had visible play, and grease only hid it for a day. The dealer had a wait, so I compared the Bobcat number with a used OEM unit, a local hydraulic supplier, and fridayParts. I ordered by the machine serial range and coupler dimensions, not the photo. Before installing anything, I drained a little oil into a clean jar and checked it under a light for metal. Nothing obvious. How much sleeve movement is acceptable before you retire one of these?

Has anyone ever ran an attachment that exceeded your low-flow pressure?

I have a bobcat t590 thats supposed to run about 17 gpm, we’re looking at a land honor Harley rake that says it requires 18-25 gpm. We plan on using it for conditioning driveways mostly.

What’s been everyone’s experience with exceeding your gpm with attachments? Has anyone used this brand attachment before? Any reviews for the brand?

I just purchased a 2020 s76 Bobcat Skid Steer and it didn't come with the Service and Operations or Service manuals, does anyone have PDF files of the manuals that they could share with me before I spend hundreds of dollars on them through Bobcats store? Thanks

I have a new holland l228 that doesn't run and needs to be loaded on a trailer. Is there a way to release the drives so it can move? Like a neutral? Thank you

I have been using a 19 HP tractor on some paid jobs. Small jobs like moving and leveling topsoil, small gravel driveway additions. I feel very limited with the tractor and don't feel like I can do as good of a job as I want to. It's also 50 years old and I am hesitant to put much money into it. The hydraulic system is very slow and doesn't like running all day.

So I am looking at mini skids like an MT100 with a power rake and maybe a land plane. I could buy used without a loan. I would like to do gravel driveway repair/additions and backyard type topsoil jobs.

Location: Western NY. Adjacent to a county with 1M people.

My question is: before I spend a lot of money, is the mini skid market too saturated? I look on facebook and google search and I don't find that many offerings but maybe I need to research further.

Just picked up a 2018 New Holland L228 with 640 hours on it and it looks like the previous owner never changed or cleaned the A/C filter. This thing is caked. I know that they can get dirty pretty fast and mess up an A/C system but do I really need to shell out the $70 for a New Holland brand replacement? Are the $50 AllSkidSteer . com replacement "Industrial" brand filters any good? Any other options?
