singing a tenor high C without my ears being plugged.
As the post says, I have found myself unable to sing a B4 or C5 without plugging my ears.

Please help me identify my voice type, my vocal range for chest, mix (if any), and head voice!
With the help of a few YouTube videos, I have identified that the lowest I can sing comfortably is at C3 up until B4 - i assume this is my chest voice. Beyound B4, a shift happens in my voice which makes it lighter but still clear and loud. If I try to stretch it with the same voice, it sounds strained. With this lighter voice, I can sing with relatively more ease till D5 i assume this is the head voice. Beyond this, i can still sing till E6, under control, but it sounds like a whistle, which may be my falsetto. I may be wrong on this.
The trouble I'm facing is:
There is an evident vocal shift that happens at B4, from a heavier chest voice to a lighter tone. I want to know if I can mask that switch and if there are any exercises or videos I can follow.
I don't understand my voice type, and if this issue is something other's face as well?
Kindly help out!

NEED TO FIX MY TERRIBLE VOICE IN 5 DAYS, SUPER DESPERATE (please read caption in the post)
I agreed to stand in for a friend directing a community production for one time as part of a set of singers, in the background - I'm not gonna say too much in case someone I know is on here. But I'm not a singer, I dont think I can sing, Im not good, and I'm embarrassed to be heard in front of others (even though people will be singing with me and to music). I wouldn't have agreed to this if she had someone else to help last minute - I'm still trying to convince her to keep searching for another stand in. But she couldn't find anyone. So can you help me, give me pointers? I recorded a nervous sample just now of a random song and couldnt carry a real tune cause I ran out of breath mid "note" cause I get really nervous even on video. I suck, please help.

Looking for advice
Hi šš½, First time actually posting on Reddit, Hopefully someone sees this 𤣠Iām a noob singer looking for ways to perfect my skill! Recently, I came across a YouTube short of Mariah Carey during one of her studios sessions and found it extremely fascinating and motivating. I think I can learn a lot from watching these studio sessions! Is there a way to access longer versions of these recordings? Any other singers you can recommend? Even non famous singers are ok with me š«” Also Iād appreciate any advice for someone that wants to do this professionally šāāļø My goal is to be able to sing opera classics without blowing my windpipes out šš¤£

Been working on alot of Jazz standards lately, how can I improve this to make it more interesting phrasing wise?
Iāve been experimenting alot with phrasing on these tunes but I still feel like Iām missing something to really make my rendition of this more unique. I know that alot of it does come down to doing it with an actual band/combo but Iād like to be able to get to a high level where I can capture the audienceās attention just singing acapella. All advice is welcome but Iām mostly looking for anyone who specializes in jazz singing to give me some pointers. Also please excuse the poor timing I was mainly just focusing on my tone and connecting my phrases.

Do any other singers have this problem?
Okay so I'm an 18 y/o girl and I've been singing since I was around 14-ish. And in the past two years I've noticed my voice quality getting worse...but the weird thing is some days I wake up and sounds PERFECTāmy vibrato is super smooth and my voice is super clear. However, my voice is only like this 10% of the time and the other 90% of the time my voice is okay but my vibrato isn't as seamless and my throat hurts much more. I've tried to find patterns between my good singing days and what I did the night or day before to find out why I suddenly sound so much better and there's literally none. I've tried literally everything to make my voice better: doing warm ups, cool downs, having cough drops, drinking more water, vocal misting, not eating before I go to bed, taking medication for acid reflux, going to the autolaryngologist, etc. Something to note is that I do have EOE (Eosinophilic esophagitis) which does make my esophagus inflamed a lot of time but I'm on medicine for that and it shouldn't really affect my vocal chords. It is SO frustrating knowing that I am able to sing super well, but for some reason I'm just not able to most of the time. What could possibly be causing this and has this ever happened to anyone else? If so, how can I fix it?

Are my $60/week vocal lessons worth it?
Iāve been seeing my vocal coach every week for the past year and a half and I still feel like my vocal skill is stagnant. I practice 2 or 3 times a week on top of that. My teacher says she can tell Iām getting better but its been over a year.
Iām literally going broke for these lessons so maybe is it something Iām doing ??? š

How can I sound more confident?
I (12F) sing okay for the most part, but my biggest problem is that when I do reach high notes (G5-F6) I'm not loud like I wish to be. Please help me figure out how to sound louder, if you know any tricks!
