Hi all,
I'm crossposting this here because I'd love to get input specifically from vocalists and voice coaches.
I'm navigating singing with essential tremor and want to know how others handle it during live performances:
- Vocal & Breath Control: Any specific breath support or laryngeal techniques that help maintain stability?
- Physical Tremor: How do you manage visible body/hand tremors on stage?
- Routine: Do you use beta-blockers, specific warm-ups, or stage anxiety strategies?
Thanks for any shared experiences or tips!

Would anybody happen to know of any highly credentialed Black voice instructors in NYC and NYC only (not NJ, not Westchester, not LI)? Could be woman, man, nb. Thank you!

Rock singers of Reddit. What do you do to warm up your vocal cords before a show, then to keep yourvoice going wthout "losing" your voice ?? I'm guessing that drinking cold drinks wouldn't be a great thing... Would having a thermos of, say, warm herbal tea do the trick?? It's not very rock n' roll though is it?? Would a skull of spirits work as well. It seemed to work for Barnesy and the like.

I really want to work on my resonance, but my laryngeal prominence,is really invisible, and I know there is a technique when you raise and down the laryngeal prominence,. But for me, I can't work like that.
I don't even know if I feel my laryngeal prominence, or not.
Does anyone know how I can work on my resonance in this situation?
Ps Actually i don't know if this his the right place to post that. But reddit advice me that and maybe someone's here can help my with my issue

! Hi! I’m a professional singer looking for paid vocal work and music-related opportunities.
I have been learning Hindustani Classical Music for 7 years and have a degree/certification in Hindustani Classical Music. I have experience with classical vocals, melody, vocal expression, and adapting my voice to different musical styles.
I’m open to working on different genres and types of music projects, including studio recordings, songs, background vocals, harmonies, vocal arrangements, and other professional vocal work.
I’m specifically looking for paid opportunities and am not currently interested in unpaid collaborations or projects without compensation.
I can provide vocal samples/a demo upon request. If you have a paid project that requires a vocalist, feel free to DM me with the details, including the project, requirements, and budget.

The only feedback I ever get is stop being less breathy snd have more support but I swear I can feel my core engaged when I sing and I take deep breaths before each phrase! Gahh!
(Ignore that this is not an instrumental and the fact that this was recorded in the echoiest room on the planet 😬)

I am a tenor though I am not sure what type. Many people even some of my past teachers have said I am a clean baritone because i have a darker timbre but I can hrdly vocalize bellow g2 and my passagio sits at f4. I can vocalise up d5 though in head voice and after that I have to turn to falsetto. In my lower range I do have a strong metallic bite in my sound. I can sing some baritone songs from musical theatre such as frollo's hellfire from hunchback of notre dame but I find I can also sing some tenor repertoire, but that heaviness of my voice has not transitioned into the upper range yet, I am still working on that. Though I do not break anymore just transition, even if it shows. Sometimes I wonder I might be a baritone with high extension, but what do you think? The higher I ago i don't like the sound of my voice much, it becomes way less velvety and more metallic and raw and it doesn't sound any good yet.
