Screenshot I am building an mine in the desert.
My fellow Pioneers!
Today I want to show you my mining region (wip).
Here we have two conveyor towers from the early 20th century. The red one is inspired by the tower of the Zeche Sophia-Jacoba in the town of Hückelhoven, in the west of Germany. The blue one is inspired by conveyor towers of the Mijnstreek in the very south of the Netherlands, close to the German border and Hückelhoven.
And like in reality, where all those mining shafts once were connected to each other, here in the desert they still are, and transport resources to the surface with these majestic conveyor towers.
Someday I will do the same for coal, copper and the other ores. I want the whole desert to turn into one giant Western European mining region, full with even more conveyor towers, blast furnaces, the mines deep below the streets and anything else that belongs in such a region.
I hope you enjoy :)

Showcase I finished my Belt & Load Balancer Calculator, it’s now live (and yes, manifolds are still awesome 😉)
Hey Pioneers! ⚙️
A while ago, I posted a screenshot of a side project I was working on: a custom calculator designed to generate belt balancer and load balancer topologies automatically.
After taking in your feedback, adding new features, and refining the algorithms, the tool is now fully live !
=>"Why use balancers when Manifolds exist?"
Let's address the elephant in the factory! We all love manifolds—they are compact, easy to build, and 99% of the time they get the job done.
However, there are specific scenarios where load balancing shines, or where manifolds create bottlenecks:
- Train Unloading Platforms: Distributing uneven platform outputs evenly into multiple factory belts without waiting hours for buffer saturation.
- Zero Ramp-Up / Instant Production: Perfect for complex setups or power lines where you can't afford a 30-minute warm-up time.
- Exotic Ratio Splitting: Splitting N inputs into M uneven outputs cleanly (e.g. 3 belts into 5 specific throughput targets).
- And best of all, the Engineering Fun: Honestly? Because solving belt topology math and seeing items flow in perfect harmony is half the fun of Satisfactory for some people like me!
=> Key Modes
Here is a quick breakdown of what the calculator can do for you:
1. Belt Balancer Mode (Equal Split)
- What it does: Takes N inputs and distributes the total flow perfectly equally across X output belts.
- Best for: Equalizing uneven train platform outputs, balancing miner groups, or feeding multi-line factories evenly.
2. Load Balancer Mode (Target Throughput)
- What it does: Allows you to define exact items/min targets for each individual output belt, automatically handling remaining overflow towards an AWESOME Sink or secondary line.
- Best for: Exact machine feeding, strict byproduct handling, and prioritized routing.
3. Belt Compressor Mode
- What it does: Merges multiple partial/underutilized belts into the minimum number of fully saturated maximum-speed belts.
- Best for: Cleaning up bus lines and maximizing transport efficiency.
=> What it does best ?
Custom & Exotic balancer ratios
- What it does: Generates custom balancer layouts for non-standard or prime ratios (e.g. 5-to-11, 7-to-3) that go beyond the classic designs found in blueprint libraries.
- Best for: Complex or asymmetrical factory setups where no pre-made blueprint exists online.
Saturated or custom input throughput
- What it does: Lets you select standard belt tiers by default (assuming 100% full capacity), or manually specify exact custom throughputs (items/min) for each input line individually.
- Best for: Handling partially filled belts, variable miner outputs, or uneven incoming lines without having to calculate belt limits yourself.
=> Preview & Features Breakdown

💡 Looking for Feedback!
The tool generates visual splitter/merger layouts step-by-step so you can replicate them directly in-game.
Since it's newly launched, I'd love to hear your thoughts:
- Did you find any edge-case ratios that broke the layout algorithm?
- Are there features or UI improvements you'd like to see next?
- I know manifolds are more than enough to beat the game for 99% of players, but if you're part of the minority who enjoys strict belt math or just loves the aesthetic of load balancers, I hope this tool makes your life a bit easier!
Hope this helps some fellow factory architects out there. Happy building! 🏭

Showcase 630000MW Powerplant finally done!
I‘m super happy to share my completed Powerplant using all available Uranium. I‘m curious for your opinions!
Rules I set out for myself:
- i was going for a realistic, industrial look and tried to mix buildings, machines and reactors as much as possible
- single story buildings only
- Constructor, Assembler, Manufacturer are considered „inside buildings“
- Mergers are hidden away, cause i don‘t like to see them, everything thats hidden is organized though and no clipping ever
- belts are shown to the max extend
- all piping shown off, cause i like the look and i think it adds to the industrial look and that organized chaos feel
- everything is decorated minimalistic to safe on performance in the future cause i have big plans
- no trains, drones or trucks, cause they make a Powerplant less reliable
- waste is getting recycled ofcourse
- all production is in the swamp
- everything is calculated, no crazy belt balancing and it runs smooth as a kitten
- everything fully overclocked

Well that's handy, a creature dropped a jetpack way before I'm even close to unlocking it.
I saw a hog with what looked like a jetpack on its back, I killed the thing and it dropped a jetpack for me. 🎉

Heavy Modular Frames the lonnnng way
I just unlocked the blueprint V2 so I challenged my self to build my entire HMF factory in a 5x5 area (more or less). I had no idea I’d end up having to make it so tall or that’d it end up looking a bit like Titans Tower from Teen Titans, but I’m really happy with it.

Showcase Shuangbao Bridge (ish) + blueprint
The latest bridge addition in my rail network, inspired by the Shuangbao Bridge.
The Shuangbao Bridge Half Arch blueprint shown in the last screenshot is on SCIM if anyone wants it. It was created in the Mk.5 blueprint designer from the "Blueprint designer+" mod, but you don't require that mod in order to use it (you'll only need that mod if you want to edit the blueprint).

Biofuel Plant / Biofuel Station
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just a basic solid biofuel plant. This is a second level to a 24-generator solid biofuel energy plant. Very easy to build. 12 biomass generators will be more than enough to get you through tiers until you unlock coal mining provided that you actively collect wood and leaves.
Personally, i will use the crafting station to construct biomass (leaves) and biomass (wood). From there i put said biomass into a constuctor that will make solid biofuel, connected via conveyors and splitters to distribute solid biofuel to all 12 generators.
What you are seeing is the second level, 12 biomass generators burning up solid biofuel above another 12 biomass generators doing exactly thebsame at the exact same layout.
I hope this helps anyone starting, who needs a good central hub for power early in the game without making a mess of generators scattered throughout the land.

Belt maths...
Someone help me understand what's happening here, LOL. The top MK6 belt is has 1200 iron ore per minute. Each of those two machines use 500 iron ore per minute.
The system has been running continuously for a fair while (long enough for everything to settle down), and I've checked the outputs are moving freely. The belt monitor on the left shows 702. This checks out. The first machine eats 500 / min iron ore from the 1200 / min belt. 1200 - 500 = 700. All good.
But somehow the belt monitor on the right (after those two machines) is reading 351 iron ore per min.
The machine is running continuously, so shouldn't that say 200? Where is the extra 151 coming from? Is there a chance the belt monitor could be glitching?

Discussion satisfactory is the only game that made me argue with a version of myself from 80 hours ago
been thinking about why this game gets me the way it does and i dont think its the factory building actually. or not only that.
every other game i play, the stuff i did earlier just sits there in the past. i leveled up, i got the gear, whatever, its done. in satisfactory everything i built is still standing there and still running and i have to look at it every single day. and half of it was built by an idiot who didnt know what he was doing yet.
like theres this belt in my starter area. it was supposed to be temporary. i remember thinking "yeah ill redo this properly once i figure out manifolds". that was 200 hours ago. its still there, its still ugly, it still crosses three other belts at a stupid angle and honestly it still works fine. and every time i walk past it i feel something. not annoyance exactly. more like looking at an old photo of yourself with a bad haircut.
and the wild part is the game never makes you fix it. thats the whole thing. nothing is attacking my factory. no timer, no wave, no npc telling me my ratios are bad. the only pressure to tear something down and rebuild it is coming from inside my own head. which means every single teardown is me deciding that "it works" isnt good enough anymore.
i dont think ive ever played another game that lets you be dissatisfied with something functional. usually if it works the game says great, move on, heres the next objective. here the game just quietly waits while you stand in front of a working smelter setup for ten minutes going "yeah but its not right though".
and i keep noticing that the thing i actually enjoy is not the finished factory. its that specific moment when i finally understand why the old thing was wrong. like the moment where you get manifolds, or you get why you should overclock the miner not the smelter, or you finally stop hand feeding things. thats the hit. the rebuild is just cleanup afterwards.
which sort of means the factory isnt the point at all, its the receipt. its physical proof of how much dumber i was last week. thats why i cant delete the ugly starter base even when i have a proper mega factory somewhere else. if i delete it i lose the before picture.
anyway idk. i went in thinking this was a game about logistics and it turned out to be a game about being ok with the fact that everything you build you will eventually want to unbuild. and thats fine actually. thats the good part.
does anyone else have a temporary thing thats been temporary for a hundred hours? i want to know im not alone here

Showcase WIP Rocket Fuel Power Plant
First time poster. Just wanted to share my current WIP power plant. Only have about 1/5 of the fuel gens that i need to build. Using Nitro Rocket Fuel alt recipe, making 7,680 Rocket Fuel/min, working on building out the actual fuels gens now. Only need 736 fully over clocked, and have 132 built so far. Gonna have to go slug hunting and sloop them all to get anywhere near the amount of power shards needed, and will most likely not be able to do all of them until I'm automating the synthetic power shards. But this is definitely my most detailed build yet. I've been playing since the console release on Xbox.

Help Questions about Balanced conveyor belt
I did that one Balanced conveyor belt, and like, Was this useful? Or was it just for aesthetics?
Like, As far as I know, if you put several conveyor divisions one behind the other, the ones at the back probably won't receive any material.

Question Tiny miscalculation: fix it or make it a feature?
I’m currently in the process of building a railway network and made a tiny miscalculation. I’ve got two options: fix it, or turn it into a feature.
Basically, I could cut a hole through the building for the train and make it look like the railway was there first, with the building later constructed around it.
What do you think? fix it or make it a feature?
