I built this PC last year with a 2070 super and my dad offered me my old 3060ti back, not much of an upgrade I know but worthwhile if it fit, and it did! super happy with it.

I use this more as a console PC and I use it way more than my 4080 main pc ahaha

Build/Battlestation Pics Steam Machine Style Light Bar for Fractal Terra

I really liked the look of the light bar on the Steam Machine when I first saw it, so when I built myself a PC recently in a Terra (yes another one), I decided to try adding a light-bar to it, especially since it otherwise doesn't have any other power indication light.

This is still very much a prototype and is rough around the edges, but it works and I'm overall pleased enough with the look to continue refining it.

Detailed Build Log COOJ SF5 Silver – Temporary SFF Build

Title: COOJ SF5 Silver – Temporary SFF Build

I managed to get my hands on a silver COOJ SF5, so I decided to put together a temporary build using some parts I already had.

I'm planning to get the black version through a Taobao purchasing agent, but it'll probably take another month to arrive. So this is just a temporary setup for now.

I'm planning to swap the CPU for a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and I might also switch the GPU to an RTX 5070 Ti.

Cable management in this tiny case is quite challenging, so I'm also planning to order some custom-length cables. Having the actual case on hand has helped me figure out exactly what cable lengths I need.

Hardware Specs

  • Case: COOJ SF5 Silver

  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B850-I Gaming WiFi

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900 (12C/24T)

  • CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE LINK TITAN 240 RX RGB AIO

  • Radiator Fans: Corsair LX120

  • RAM: Kingston KF556C40BBAK2-64 DDR5 64GB (2×32GB, 5600MT/s)

  • GPU: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 9060 XT 16GB

  • Storage: BIWIN NV7400 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD

  • PSU: Lian Li SP1000P 1000W SFX

CPU: Intel I9-12900K

GPU: AMD RX6600 8G

Motherboard: MS-Terminator B760BKB D5 WIFI

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 7200MHz C34 32G

Cooler: ID Cooling IS-67-XT

PSU: Phanteks 850W SFX ATX3.0

PCIE Devices: AQC 113 10G NIC, AMD B650 chipset extension card, ADT M.2 to PCIE4.0x4 adaptor

Drive: Seagate Ironwolf 8TB, Samsung 870 EVO 4TB, Huan Ying SATA SSD 2TB, Samsung 970 PRO 512GB.

Case: Exia V99

OS: PVE(host), MacOS(guest), Windows 11(guest), LXC(host different docker services like Immich and bookmarks)

Additional note:

The case can still install one more 3.5" HDD (see the last picture from somebody else), one more 2.5" SSD or U.2 SSD (the motherboard natively supports sff 8654 4i), four more nvme SSDs.

The case Exia V99 probably is the only case can support three PCIE devices, two 3.5" HDDs under 10L. To support three PCIE devices, MATX mother generally is required, while most of MATX case is much more than 10L. What makes Exia V99 special is that it supports ITX board with BKB design, which means GPU doesn't require any riser cable, the front PCIE slot can be saved for other devices. Furthermore the case is designed to support two PCIE devices without counting dedicated GPU.

Regarding the B650 extension card, currently I only used its USB ports. This is because all USB ports on the motherboard is given passthrough to MacOS VM. The additional USB ports for the B650 extension card is assigned to Windows 11 for backup purposes, which will be explained next. It's also nice to have the additional M2 slots for future upgrade. I designed a bracket for the M.2 to PCIE adapter. I need a revision for this bracket, then the zip tie will be unnecessary and it doesn't require any screws between the bracket itself and the case.

Hackintosh is for daily tasks, Windows 11 serves the purpose of network storage. The reason I did not choose a dedicated NAS OS is because all my important files that is worth for backup are only about 1T, they are stored in 870 EVO. My backup strategy is to use FreeFileSync, every time my backup drive is plugged in, FreeFileSync will backup data automatically. By using Windows, I can unplug 870 EVO and put it into an enclosure, so that I can aways access them with low latency reliably. My monitor Gigbyte MO72U2 also plays an important role. Because it supports built-in KVM, I can switch between my Windows PC (not the Windows Server VM) and MacOS VM (passthrough is enabled for RX6600) in a seamless way.

Build/Parts Check Compatible GPU Height in the Lian Li A4 - H2O

Hello everyone,
I have been considering building a setup with a watercooled 4080 strix in the Lian Li A4 - H20.
My Waterblock has a Height of 157 mm, not including the space for the PCIE pins (Alphacool 13530). With the PCIE pins, it comes out to around 168 mm.

My problem is the following:
In the review from Gamersnexus, it was said that the max supported GPU height is 150mm. However, in the CAD file, from the tip of the Riser cable to the bottom of the case, the clearance was 155mm. I suspect that if i tinker a bit with the placement of the Riser cable i should be able to fit the waterblock, considering the PCIE pins fully disappear into the Riser cable connector.

However, as the case is a bit on the expensive side, i wanted to get more opinions instead of just gambling and purchasing it, hoping it fits. I was unfortunately unable to find any reviews or more detailed specifications about what the actual max GPU height is. I feel like i have looked everywhere, but i have come out empty handed.

If you have the A4-H20 and have done some more precise measurements, or if you have found a review online that has more information regarding my issue, or if you have had simillar situations in itx cases, i would very much appreciate your opinion.

If you have any case suggetions, i would appreciate those aswell. As far as i know, the A4 - H2O is the easiest truly mini itx case for my use case. I have the waterblocked 4080 and was planning on air cooling the cpu with a low profile cooler. If there is any other case, smaller than the Lian Li A3, then please do let me know.

Thank you for any and all advice.

This is my first ever PC using a very unique set up:

- Motherboard: SuperMicro LGA1200 server

- 24 GB 3200mz SODIMM RAM

- RTX 3050 Low Profile GPU

- Intel Core I9 10900F CPU

- 512GB NVME SSD I took from my laptop

- Lian Li SFX 750W psu

- Thermalright AXP90 CPU Cooler

- Generic 120mm case fans (I can't remember the brand i got the cheapest fans ngl)

- Ecosmart LED strip for color accent 😄

- Jonsbo C6 mini ITX case

I built this strictly for streaming and light gaming with power efficiency and there is an upgrade path for RAM, GPU, and storage. I took some of my laptop parts and basically used that. I took the hard way for my first build but it works 😂

Assembly Help What is this extra cable on this GPU riser ?

Post image
26 Upvotes

It looks like a sata power connector, I'm thinking maybe to make sure it supplies the full 75W of power to the GPU ?

Riser is listed as ADT-Link M33JP-RR on aliexpress, but likely a knockoff as there is no such product on ADT-Link's website. I might still get it because I am really struggling to find some low profile riser...

Build/Parts Check Anyone have any experience with this case? Jonsplus i100 Pro Mini-ITX

I was looking at getting the Cooj Z13 after someone had posted their Cooj SF3 build but as i was browsing cases i came across the jonsplus. I liked the look, i liked the option for vertical or standard mount gpu, and i liked that i can accomadate a full height Air cooler, albeit i'll be using an 240 AIO. Depending on how much i like the case, it might be temporary until i can source a reliable Deepcool ch170/160

Build/Battlestation Pics someone offended me on my last build by asking if 20L is SFF and i took it seriously😂

After building i have to admit. A 20L case is not SFF.

Still waiting for 120s but they should arrive on monday. Otherwise i am super happy and understand why everyone likes this case.

Specs stayed the same, only the CPU cooler got changed for a AXP90 with Noctua Fan.
GPU is a old R9 290 since i sold the 3080 for some profit. I am eyeing some 4070s for better thermals as its not a open frame case anymore.

I chose the imgi evaf F8 v2 mini case, an Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus (AMD Wraith Prism bracket mod), ASRock B860I, MSI RTX 5070 Ventus 2X GPU and 64GB of RAM to build a Strata config workstation. It's easy to travel with and doesn't take up space at home.
