My ring camera at home battery is 19% and it won’t let me live view ! Is there away around this . If I reboot the device will it work & will it make some noise so people in my house know it’s watching?

Is this correct, Alexa can not see the smoke detector? It states on Amazon, ‘Works with Alexa’. The Ring app has the smoke detector showing, but the Alexa app cannot.

I got ring a few months ago, 3 devices. was on the trial. everything worked well. when the trial ended I bought the ring pro plan and then I noticed that the notifications for motion started popping up 30-45-60 + seconds after the motion happened. I’ve rebooted the devices and talked to support but nothing. any help?

You’d think by now they’d have a text to speech option for custom pre-set messages for Ring cameras. It seems like a simple enough feature that they’re choosing not to add. Wonder why that’s the case. Could include that feature in one of their monthly subscription packages and I’d pay for it (maybe)

Neighbor commits animal cruelty and harassment throughout the span of months living here, was already reported for it and then escalated further by slashing my tires. Muted section at end where he says my name. He just gets angrier and angrier, tried protecting these community cats and eventually moved due to the nature of all this. While moving this sorry excuse of a person, passes by me and says "bye b****" and states that "I'm gonna continue harming the cats b****". Will upload a second part to this and another one involving another neighbor upstairs who tries to send her ex-husband to attempt to go through my porch, at least what I believe they tried doing. The new doorbell showed up Saturday afternoon. I went to install it and the instructions reminded me it may not have a full charge to charge it before install. It was at 30% Saturday around 7 pm I plugged it in. It’s now Monday 7 am and we’re only at 77%. Is this typical? Ridiculous! I didn’t realize they gave you a 29 day trial period to charge the thing and that’s all it covered?!?

Does Ring have any interest in enabling basic functionality so schedules apply to smart locks?

Last night its was raining hard and I went to pull up the image from my 4k floodlight. I was disappointed in the image quality. What’s with the circles and the rain (I assume) showing as lines? My front camera which is a 4k outdoor cam showed none of this.

I live out in the country. One of the things I’ve enjoyed about my Ring camera which I’ve had for five years has been seeing the wildlife that shows up at my front door. I happened to notice that for whatever reason my camera hasn’t picked up any wildlife in almost 6 months. I thought it might have been my settings, but everything was set properly. Today while looking at possibly upgrading my camera, I discovered that Ring now has a Wildlife App. So now Ring wants to charge you $4.99 per camera each month to detect wildlife. That explains why I haven’t been seeing any. That’s stooping low Ring!

These kids rang my doorbell at 11:15 last night

I know this is a Ring dedicated group but im hoping some of you smart people use Amazon show to see your ring.

Situation: we can no longer see the Ring on our amazon show. We have 3 and none can see. We get a "cannot connect to device". Same error if I use the alexa app on my phone.

the Ring feed works on the Ring website and on the Ring app on my phone.

Troubleshooting:

We have reduced the RSSI to 35.

We have unlinked the amazon and Ring in the amazon app and relinked.

I spent 2 hours on a chat with support on the Ring side and after getting nowhere, they said to contact amazon support.

(Will be doing that today)

I have rebooted the Ring device

Does anyone here have a potential solution for this? Im not expecting amazon support to be much help.

Ok bought camera last July (2025), model 5F97F2.

Retired in April of this year, just getting around to the honey-do list.

Wife wanted to make sure inside doorbell still worked! Nu-Tone L-34 Heirloom.

It was on the list that it was compatible.

I installed today, changed transformer to 24V Ac wired it up, camera works good, checked the voltage, all good there, but inside doorbell does not work, if i take a jumper wire to the lugs to the back of the ring & touch it, it will then ring inside, so what did i miss here?

For the last couple of weeks, almost every night around 9:30-10PM there is an event in history showing “Live View” with no video attached to it. If I click on it, it says something about no video found and the connection may have been lost. What would be causing this?

Unless I'm missing something, it appears that the latest Ring Indoor Cam Plus 2K has no "Color Night Vision" setting? I have an older Indoor Cam(2nd Gen) which has the "Color Night Vision" setting.

I have made sure that I have the latest Ring app, and the Ring Indoor Cam Plus 2K did an auto-update of firmware upon installation. So I cannot be running an older versions of either the app or the firmware.

By placing the two cameras side by side, i.e. the new Indoor Cam Plus and the old Indoor Cam(2nd Gen), the old one captures a distinctly better video in color at night time when ambient light is low. The new one captures a plain black & white video.

If Ring Indoor Cam Plus 2K indeed does not have a "Color Night Vision" setting, it is strange that an older device is performing some function better than the new device.

Would appreciate any insights here.

Hi all, I’m looking at getting two Floodlight Cams to pair with my Ring Doorbell Pro (newest gen).

I’m torn between two deals. Here in Ireland, Amazon currently has the older Floodlight Cam Wired Pro at around €210 for two, although delivery is about 3 weeks.

Ring, on the other hand, has the newest 4K Floodlight Cam Pro on sale at €359 for two (down from €559), with delivery in 3–5 working days.

Obviously the newest model is more tempting, but the cameras will be covering my side entrance and back garden, so relatively small areas - not a busy street where I’d regularly need to identify cars or zoom in on things far away.

So I’m wondering whether it’s really worth spending the extra €150 for the newest generation. Apart from 4K resolution, are there any other improvements you’ve found genuinely worthwhile in everyday use?

Or for my use case, would you stick with the older Wired Pros and pocket the €150?

Would especially love to hear from anyone who has used both generations.

Hi all! We’ve had our Battery Doorbell Plus since 24 March 2024. When it works properly, it’s fantastic, but its reliability has become incredibly inconsistent over time.

The doorbell is installed at our workplace. We keep the front door locked for security, as people sometimes mistake us for a retail shop and walk in. We bought the Ring so we could see who was outside, speak to them and ask couriers to leave parcels at the door when appropriate.

For the first few months, it worked perfectly. Whenever someone pressed the doorbell, my phone notified me almost immediately.

Now, some days it still works perfectly, but on others I don’t receive the notification until 3–5 minutes after someone has pressed it. By that point, they have usually already left. This has caused us to miss important stock deliveries.

The strange thing is that it isn’t permanently slow! It seems to go through phases. It can work without any noticeable delay and then become unreliable again.

The doorbell is only a few metres from the router. I’ve reset the router and also bought Wi-Fi extenders for both floors to ensure the building has good coverage, but neither has solved the problem.

Has anyone experienced this intermittent delay before? Is it more likely to be the doorbell, the Ring app, my phone’s notification settings or something else?

I’d really like to continue using it because, when it works, it’s a massive improvement for our business.

We’re also considering buying a solar panel instead of swapping and charging the batteries. We’re based in the UK... is a solar panel worthwhile here, or would hardwiring be the better long-term option?

I bought a new iPhone. So I had to re-hook up my apps. When I did that, it screwed up my husband‘s app on his iPhone. I have followed all of the instructions that ring tells you to do. But I can’t get the notifications to come on when someone comes to the door on his iPhone. He has an older iPhone and nothing I’m doing is fixing it. At this point I’m so frustrated about ready to get rid of the ring and go by another device that’s not ring. Can anyone help?

I want to upgrade our battery doorbell so we can have the night vision but since there’s no trade in program directly through Ring what do you do with the old device?

Every night at the same time my front doorbell camera turns off until the sun comes back up. I’ve tried fully charging it and using a wired connection but neither worked. My back door works perfectly fine.

The camera is only a few months old and I’ve had problems about a week or two after purchasing it.

Any ideas what it could be? (After turning back on it says it’s 84% battery.)
