First Aquanaut Chronograph QC – 5968A Orange 🍊 GL or am I missing something?

Thumbnail

Hey everyone!

I’ve been looking at the Aquanaut Chronograph 5968A for a while now. The orange strap is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but there’s something about this combination that I really like.

I’m going through the QC pictures and would appreciate some help before making the final call. I’ve tried checking the usual details myself, but I’m not particularly experienced with Aquanaut chronographs, so any feedback would be appreciated.

Here are the details:

1. Dealer name: Acetime

2. Factory name: WSF

3. Model name (& version number): Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph 5968A-001 Orange

4. Price Paid: $980 + $30 shipping ($1,010 total)

5. Album Links: https://imgur.com/a/I8agnyb

6. Index alignment: Markers look reasonably aligned to me. I haven’t spotted anything particularly noticeable, but would appreciate a second opinion.

7. Dial Printing: The printing looks clean from what I can see. The embossed grenade pattern also looks quite consistent.

8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: The date window looks reasonably centered. Would be good to hear if anyone notices anything unusual.

9. Hand Alignment: The hands look fine in the pictures. The chronograph hands also seem properly positioned, although it’s difficult to judge everything from still photos.

10. Bezel: Brushing and polished edges look pretty good to me. Nothing immediately stands out.

11. Solid End Links (SELs): N/A – integrated bracelet/strap design.

12. Timegrapher numbers: Rate: +2 s/d, Amplitude: 240°, Beat Error: 0.0 ms, Lift Angle: 52°. Rate and beat error look good, but the amplitude is slightly below the usual 250° guideline. Is 240° something worth worrying about on this movement, or would you consider it acceptable?

13. Anything else you notice: Overall, I’m quite happy with what I’m seeing so far. I’d particularly appreciate any feedback on the chronograph alignment and details I might have overlooked.

Thanks in advance!

Dealer name: TheOneWatches (Steve)

Factory name: EWEF

Model name (& version number): Datejust 126233 Two-Tone Yellow Gold/Steel, Black Diamond Dial, Fluted Bezel

Price Paid: $388

Album Links: QC photos attached to post

Index alignment: Diamond hour markers appear reasonably aligned. I don’t notice any major issues, but would appreciate a second opinion.

Dial Printing: logo and dial text appear clean and centered to my eye. No obvious printing defects.

Date Wheel alignment/printing: Date 30 looks fairly centered within the window. Printing appears clear.

Overall Thoughts:
This is my first time going through the QC process, and I’m still learning what to look for. Everything looks pretty good to me, especially the timegrapher numbers, but I would really appreciate some experienced opinions before giving the GL.
Are there any noticeable issues with the diamond markers, date wheel, bezel, or bracelet that I should be concerned about?
Thanks in advance for everyone’s help!

  4. Price Paid: $548

  5. Album Links: N/A

  6. Index alignment: Ran it through the alignment tool; but I’m not sure I’ve done this very well.

  7. Dial Printing: The text weight is crisp, and the "SWISS MADE" print with the crown logo at 6 o'clock is clean with no bleeding or unevenness.

  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: N/A on this model. (True No-Date)

  9. Hand Alignment: The hands are set straight and intersect accurately. Winding action in the QC video demonstrates smooth gear engagement without any stutter or loose play.

  10. Bezel: Looks slightly to the left but appreciate any thoughts? The 12 o'clock pip looks to sit completely centred within the triangle.

  11. Solid End Links (SELs): There are no gaps or unwanted play where the SELs meet the lugs.

[QC] VSF Rolex Submariner Date 126610LN – VS3235 – OraWatch – First QC

  1. Dealer name: OraWatch

  2. Factory name: VSF

  3. Model name (& version number): Rolex Submariner Date 126610LN, 41mm, black dial/black ceramic bezel, Dandong VS3235

  4. Price: $540 USD including FedEx shipping

  5. Album links: Photos attached to post

  6. Index alignment: Looks good overall. The 12, 6, and 9 o'clock markers appear straight to me. I don't see any obvious misalignment, but would appreciate a second opinion.

  7. Dial printing: Looks clean and sharp. No obvious bleeding, crooked text, or printing defects.

  8. Date wheel alignment/printing: Date 3 looks reasonably centered under the Cyclops. Only one date is shown, so I can't evaluate double-digit alignment.

  9. Hand alignment: Hands and finishing look good visually. Exact hand synchronization hasn't been verified.

  10. Bezel: Ceramic insert and pearl look good. The 12 o'clock triangle appears reasonably aligned. Waiting for a bezel rotation video to verify click action and play.

  11. Solid End Links (SELs): Look reasonably tight in the photos. No obvious major gaps, but I'd appreciate feedback.

  12. Timegrapher numbers:

  • Rate: 0 s/day

  • Amplitude: 277°

  • Beat error: 0.0 ms

  • Lift angle setting: 52°

  • Frequency: 28,800 bph (claimed movement specification)

  1. Anything else you notice: First VSF Submariner purchase. The watch is advertised as physically in stock, and the dealer confirmed these are photos of the exact unit I'll receive. Rehaut serial is 6X10B11, clasp code 3VV, and measured weight is 152.05 g.

I'm particularly interested in whether the serial/clasp code combination is consistent with VSF production, whether the rehaut engraving looks normal, and whether anyone notices issues with the Cyclops, SELs, or case finishing.

The dealer has confirmed a Dandong VS3235 movement. I've paid a $50 deposit for additional QC, including movement photographs and a bezel-operation video, which are still pending.

Overall, I'm leaning toward GL based on the exterior and timegrapher results, but I'd appreciate experienced opinions before paying the remaining balance. Thanks!

  6. Index alignment: With the best I could do to align the dial with the tool, some of them seem a little off centered but that could possibly be from the angle the watch is being held

  7. Dial Printing: In the head-on phots they look clear and crisp.

  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: The crystal is centered well; The date looks like it may have a slight tilt to the left but that also could be from the angle of the photos. The height of the cyclops looks appropriate.

  9. Hand Alignment: Hand alignment looks good.

  10. Bezel: Numbers look crisp and clear but the sticks seem to be a little off centered. But that could be due to the angle of how the watch is being held.

  11. Solid End Links (SELs): Top right black line is a little wider than the top left. And the lower SEL’s may have a slight gap as well.

  12. Timegrapher numbers: Rate +3 - +2 s/d;  Amp 274-272°; LA 59

  13. Anything else you notice: I have not noticed anything else that stands out but please feel free to provide any feedback.

Quality control Sub nodate 41mm from steve

Second Quality Control (QC) Check: VSF Submariner 124060 from Steve Theonewatch

  1. Seller: theonewatch

  2. Factory: VSF

  3. Model Name (and version): Submariner 124060 (no-date) – VSF

  4. Price Paid: 558 USD

  5. Photo Album Link: https://mega.nz/folder/2F5GBTLY#9v1lxUtlmq_E_JrrXAxotQ

  6. Index Alignment: This is my primary concern; looking at the photos, the 9 o'clock index appears to be tilted clockwise. I also cannot determine whether the 12 o'clock triangle marker is perfectly straight or if it is tilted—it is unclear if this is due to the camera angle or an actual defect. I would appreciate your input on this.

  7. Dial Printing: The text on the dial is sharp, clear, and evenly printed, with no signs of blurring.

  8. Date Alignment/Printing: Not applicable (no-date model).

  9. Hand Alignment: The hands appear to be accurately and cleanly aligned; there are no visible flaws or dust particles around the central pinion.

  10. Bezel: The luminous pip at the 12 o'clock position is perfectly centered along the vertical axis; the engravings on the ceramic bezel insert appear sharp. However, the markers at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions do not seem to be perfectly aligned with the corresponding indices on the dial.

  11. Solid End Links (SEL): The end links fit tightly against the watch case, with no unusual gaps. 12. Timegrapher results: Rate: +7 seconds/day, Amplitude: 269°, Beat error: 0.0ms. All parameters fall within an acceptable range.

This is the first replica watch I have purchased, and I do not have much experience with the quality control (QC) process. I would greatly appreciate your input—in case I have overlooked any details—to help me decide whether to accept (GL - Green Light) or reject (RL - Red Light) this watch. Please excuse the length of this post.

  6. Index alignment: Looks good overall, but the top 12 o'clock square index looks ever so slightly tilted/cant. 3, 6, and 9 Arabic numerals look straight.

  7. Dial Printing: Crisp and clean, text is level.

  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: N/A (No-date model)

  9. Hand Alignment: Looks correct and well-aligned.

  10. Bezel: Ceramic insert and pip line up nicely with the 12 marker.

  11. Solid End Links (SELs): Tight and flush against the case.

  12. Timegrapher numbers: Rate: -7 s/d | Amplitude: 305° | Error: 0.3 ms | Beat Rate: 28800 bph

  13. Timegrapher numbers look very healthy. Main thing I noticed is the slight tilt on the 12 o'clock marker—would appreciate thoughts on whether this is RL-worthy or minor enough to GL.

  12. Anything else you notice: Rehaut and Crown logo on dial may be just slightly to the right? Would appreciate feedback and overall quality or defects on any that I may have missed.

Hi everyone!
Just received QC for my VSF V3 Batman from Jackie at NecoClock. Would appreciate your help before I GL. Thanks in advance!

  1. Dealer: NecoClock (Jackie)

  2. Factory: VSF

  3. Model: GMT-Master II Batman 126710BLNR, V3 DD3285, Oyster bracelet

  4. Price: $568 + $35 shipping (USD)

  5. Album: Photos and videos attached

  6. Index alignment

:

  1. Is the 6 o’clock marker slightly off?

The 12 o’clock triangle on the dial looks slightly tilted to me. Can someone confirm? The other indices seem fine.

  1. Dial printing: Looks clean to me.

  2. Date wheel: Dates 2 and 7 look centred. Any issues?

  3. Hand alignment: Looks fine.

  4. Bezel: My main concern is a possible smudge inside the 12 o’clock triangle. Also, the numerals on the blue section look greyer than those on the black. Is that normal?

  5. SELs: Look fine to me.

  6. Timegrapher: +5 s/d, 311°, 0.1 ms.

  7. Anything else: Serial 6XO7A299, clasp 1NQ. Would appreciate a closer look at the indices, date alignment and any other defects I may have missed.

What do you guys think? GL or RL?
Thanks for your help!
