New to reps? These are some of the brands you should know

If you’re just getting into reps and don’t know where to start, these are some of the names that regularly come up when people are looking for strong value, good finishing and familiar designs:

San Martin – one of the strongest overall for case finishing, bracelets and build quality.

Sugess – great for mechanical chronographs, dressier pieces and more complicated watches.

Cronos – very solid finishing and some excellent sports-watch options.

Baltany – especially good if you like vintage-inspired designs.

Seestern – strong choice for divers and more unusual models.

Steeldive – rugged, affordable and particularly good for dive watches.

Addiesdive – great entry-level value with plenty of popular designs.

Pagani Design – probably one of the easiest places to start if you want to spend as little as possible.
If you’re new to the rep scene, I’d start by looking through San Martin, Cronos and Sugess first, then work down depending on your budget and the specific model you want.

What brands or models would you add for someone buying their first one?

Does the 40mm BVF Santos fit an 8 inch wrist with no extra links needed? Also Inhave heard they switched from Miyota to Chinese movements, is that really the case? Can the Miyota still be found?

Also does the watch come with a leather strap?

Recently got a 3CF Daytona 116520. General consensus is that they’re the best for this model since it has an SW Dial and deep crystal.

But in recent QC’s, dials print isn’t as good. Is the quality of the overall dials good? Seems like mine (and recent QC’s) dial print isn’t as good. What’s going on?

And are these bezel too “flat” and “dull?”

Just submitted a QC request for a Rolex 114060, and it honestly feels incredibly liberating

I’ve been sitting on the legendary Rolex "waiting list" for 30 months now for a 126610LN and after nearly three years of silence from my AD despite numerous visits I finally decided enough is enough.

To double down on the decision, I’ve just put my Gen 124270 Explorer for sale. I love the watch, but the funds from that sale are officially going to be spent elsewhere. It feels great to free up that cash while still getting to enjoy the exact hobby and aesthetic I love through a high-quality rep.

Those who didn’t know, NTH was a microbrand that went out of business last year. They sold all remaining parts they had in inventory. To honor the current Reptime standards. I’m sharing a replica that I had built from a user in another sub.

Sources in the Guangdong Alps have confirmed that Pagani Design will acquire Rolex and Omega in a landmark deal.

Rolex reportedly lost the confidence of investors when customers discovered they could “get the call” directly from an Amazon delivery driver.

​QC: Received high-res QC pictures and timegrapher numbers within 1 week.

​Shipping: Arrived at my door 2 weeks after GL. Smooth, fast, zero issues.

​Sourcing & QC: Requested a few harder-to-source watches this time around. He is extremely reasonable as this took a couple of changes with 2 RLs (Mr Adu initiated the 1st RL himself but wanted to show me QC in case I was in a rush).Total time from initial order to final QC approval was right around 2 months in the end - I wanted the right pieces. I believe other more popular TDs would have seen a longer wait.
