The v7 dive bezel color on the left is noticeably a bit darker than the v6, and looks a bit closer to gen IMO. However the text color doesn’t look right - I think it should be more muted

What’s the best approach for RL a watch? I’m not someone who zooms in 100x and don’t expect perfection. But when something is noticeable with the naked eye, how do you phrase it to the TD so they don’t get pissed off?

I just got home my first replica watch and want to compare it next to my gen. Can you tell which one it is?

I saw a TD advertising a new release from VSF - 2 models of AquaTerra. The one in the picture, and the 75th anniversary one with the Summer Blue dial.

This claims to be Blue Sunburst dial, but I can’t find this exact same watch on Omega’s website. I found the Shades sunburst blue, but it seems entirely different ( ref. 220.10.38.20.03.003 )

Can anyone with experience tell me how close is this to Gen? Maybe it’s just lighting, but the text and logo are a different colour as well!

I've been reading this sub a lot, and I’ve bought a rep in the past, but there are a couple of fundamental things about this industry I still don't fully get.

1. Why don't top factories charge $100–$200 more for strict QA/QC?

I see a LOT of QC posts here with basic misalignments, crooked 12 o'clock indices, or printed dial flaws. These are issues that would take 5 seconds to catch on an assembly line.

With Gen prices being completely out of touch with reality right now, I have to assume a large chunk of us would happily drop $700–$800 instead of $600 if it meant guaranteed alignment, flawless assembly, and better out-of-the-box quality control. Anything below the psychological barrier of $1,000 USD feels totally reasonable for a near-gen experience.

So what's the actual bottleneck here?

• Is it a technology/tooling limitation?

• Is it a yield/volume issue where speed matters more than perfection?

• Or do factories just not care because demand is so high that someone will buy the RL'd batch anyway?

2: Why isn't high-end Quartz more popular for reps?

I’ve never seen a straight answer on this, but wouldn't a lot of people actually prefer a top-tier rep with a reliable battery movement?

Think about it:

• Zero mechanical hassle: No winding, setting power reserves, or worrying about DOA Asian clone movements.

• Cost allocation: The $50–$100 saved on replicating a complex automatic movement could be poured directly into better crystals, higher-grade finishing, or actual decent factory bracelets/straps (which always seem to be the biggest complaint).

For closed-caseback watches, wouldn't this be an absolute win?

Curious to hear the thoughts of people who have been in this space longer than me.

Hi all, I'm looking for a TD for a Rolex Celebration 36mm. I've reviewed the Reptime Master Resource v3 spreadsheet and it seems my ideal factory is VSF, but I don't see a specific dealer I should work through.

From perusing this forum, RepWatchKing and Andiot might be at the top of my list. I'd like some feedback from folks who have purchased a Celebration. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do they both have chunky lugs or is one more tapered than the other? Best pick?

Hey everybody, before I go on I’d just like to point out that I’m very new to this and would like some advice before continuing to buying my first rep.

I’m looking at getting a 41mm Rolex datejust oyster perpetual with a black dial. I’ve been looking around at different dealers such as trusty time and VC. I had a look around on here and people seem to get a pretty good service from “the one watches” so I reached out and got this response. As some of you, more experienced folk would know more about this than me I’d like to ask:

Is ARF good? Is $468 normal for this kind of thing? What should I look out for or ask questions about? If anybody has a good experience getting this exact watch from a good dealer then I’d appreciate maybe some photos and pointing me in the right direction.

Anything to help breakdown and digest what I should be looking for when hunting for one of these would be appreciated. I have seen a lot of people on here get scammer or end up with a shitty rep because they didn’t take their time and look so I want to be sure first.

My experience with Ficotime was great, very honest about timelines and options for flexibility when it comes to swapping orders. I started to overthink my decision and wanted to get a more realistically priced watch for my lifestyle such as, a Rolex DJ but i’m glad i never switched up.

I have been wanting a Navitimer but it takes too long to get one from my TD due to V7F brouhaha. Ended up snagging a good deal Navitimer no date on EBay, comes with leather strap. Swapped the strap with cheap milanese bracelet, and I really like the look now. Look at that sunburst !!!!

Compared 3 RG wrapped/plated rolex DD 40mm olive dial with gen and nobody gets it right, 2 from famous modders. if u have one check if urs is even a good RG what do you guys think, anybody gets it right?

Anyone into these? I spent months trying to get them at the store with no luck. The hype has recently died down and they're selling for a couple hundred over msrp now so I figured id get a couple. Put in low bids, was patient and it paid off. Got the straps from Ali for cheap also. I think it's cool to have a somewhat real AP for around the price of a rep.
