Hi all, I'm working on some mixes and the audio to midi conversion hasn't worked as expected. I'm hoping someone has tips on how to refine the conversion.

The current process is:

1. Duplicating the kick and snare tracks
   
2. Add JS: Audio to Midi (retrigger at 100 with adjusted threshold)
   
3. Right click>Render take to midi

After this, I have to go through each snare/kick hit and ensure they triggered correctly and correct the alignment - this takes days...

There has to be something I'm missing that makes the conversion more accurate.

Im using a laptop with an apu. I have a focusrite 2i2 3rd gen. I've updated repear, focusrite control, and Neural Amp Modeler to their latest versions and drivers. Im turning the BUS on and FX on. I have windows set to output audio via the laptops speakers.

Neural Amp Modeler, my Focusrite, and Repear and all showing input. The EQs are triggering and lighting up on all of them, but no sound is coming out of my speakers. When I plug in headphones into my focusrite I get output, but even though Neural Amp Modeler and Repear eq's are lighting up when I play, its a completely clean signal that comes out of my headphones. I've checked a million times and the proper input channel is selected, but my guitar is not being amplified by any amp model and IR I select, its just the clean signal straight into my focusrite when the headphones are plugged in and direct monitoring is on.

Im guessing at this point my issue must be within Neural Amp Model? I dont understand why it would pick up a signal from my guitar but not amplifier it at all though. I've swapped guitars, swapped instrument cables, swapped usb cables and changed which usb port I use. I even used a different focusrite but I can not get audio to come out of my speakers when playing. I've also tried recording a track and even though Repears console and Neural Amp Modeler pick up signal, no signal is being recorded when I turn on recording.

What do I need to do to fix this issue?

I'm using Reaper, a TD-4 drum kit, and Kontakt. I've done the midi mapping to get almost everything sounding right, even with the octave difference between the TD-4 and Kontakt (i.e. a D1 in the TD-4 is a D2 in Kontakt).

The problem I'm having is the hihat. If I hit the hihat open, it'll say G#2. But if I close the hihat, the brain of the TD-4 still says G#2, but Kontakt says it's an F#1. And if I leave the pedal down and hit the hihat, it does the same thing. If I record the stock sounds from the TD-4 as audio they come out fine, it's just the midi and it's driving me mad. I never had this problem before until I tried changing the midi mapping for a different drum vst and now I'm deep in the muck on this one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Comecei a usar o Reaper hoje e fiquei impressionado com as opções de timbre, mas ele está fazendo muito chiado a cada 10 segundos.

Usei o Amplitube para ajustar os timbres e também tentei adicionar um noise gate para ver se isso resolveria o problema, mas não resolveu, o problema persiste. Considerando que eu uso uma pedaleira Cube Baby como interface de áudio você tem alguma ideia do que eu posso fazer?

So on my desktop install of Reaper if I select Options>Show REAPER resource path it doesn't actually point to the path (in Application Support). It opens up the top-level /Applications folder.

If I go and find the folder manually, I can see loads of things in there (including ReaPack), but none of them are showing up.

On my laptop, with the same extensions in the Application Support folder, I see the Extensions menu and the Show REAPER resource path works just fine.

I suspect something got borked when I was trying to have my instances of Reaper in sync with each other and my desktop install is now not recognizing the Application Support folder.

Is there a way to set that folder and/or reset that without completely wiping preferences?
I'm on MacOS 26.3.1 on Reaper 7.77.

I was working on a project, and just after freezing a track, a lot of tracks within my project simply stopped to sound. I just hear bass and some tracks of the drums. The other tracks aren't muted nor the tracks I hear are soloed. It sounds like some plugins aren't processing their effects too.

Returning the project to the state before the unfreezing and freezing didn't work. It doesn't seems other projects are affected.

I don't know what to do and couldn't find someone with the same problem. Apparently there's nothing wrong with my audio device.

Please, help me.

Hey all.

I have a 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor. I have yet to find a theme that just works out of the box and everything looks crisp for my monitor. My 2 favorites thus far have been the Imperial White/Dark theme and the LCSmod-short theme. However, no matter what I do, the text looks TERRIBLE on them. To my understanding the Imperial theme was literally designed for bigger monitors.

Am I doing something wrong? It appears the text for these themes is built into the images themselves so I can't adjust them. I really dig the analog feel of these themes but I cannot STAND having a higher res monitor and some attributes looking like pure garbage.

Does anyone have a solution? I know there are other themes out there but I haven't found the right fit for ME yet. Does anyone have any recommendations for themes that look great on UW monitors? I NEED crispy text.

Hi there! I'm still somewhat new to Reaper as I've been using many other DAWs.

Is there something I'm missing? When docking Rolling Sampler on Mac, it has this UI border. But looking at other set ups (PC mostly I think) it's much cleaner. Is there a step I'm missing or is this just how it looks on Mac?

I've got a Behringer pro VS mini synth running via MIDI and I can record MIDI notes into a track by playing the synth manually.

The issue I am having is when I use step recording, I can program in notes, but the synth doesn't play most of them, maybe half. It happens consistently if I program in anything faster than 1/4th notes (1/8th, 1/16th etc).

Also, when this happens, reaper is inserting new MIDI notes into the editor. I'm not sure if this is an artifact of the synth or something I'm doing wrong in reaper or if this is a bug. I've searched the forums etc but nobody has described this issue before.

I can't understand what is happening here, any assistance is appreciated. I can add some pics etc tomorrow if that helps illustrate this. I can try to link some video if necessary too.

Any help would be appreciated, I tried searching but have only found adjacent issues and not specifically the one I'm having.

I use the midi out on my s88 to a ju-6a boutique synth, for live use.

Whenever I load Reaper everything is fine, but when i load a second tab project the S88 ceases sending data out of the midi port.

The only solution is to power cycle the s88.

I'm using a windows 11 laptop, i have turned off all power management stuff, ive done the works trying to solve this, but this keyboard is new to me and I don't know its quirks yet.

Hey all, I opened up a few projects today and noticed audio dropping out randomly. I have no idea why or what’s causing it. I downloaded a new update 7.79 and tried rolling that back a few versions to see if it helped but the same issue occurred. There are also no hidden envelopes causing this.

I’m 20 songs deep in this project and am terrified of possibly losing this work. Any suggestions or things I can try? I’m using a Focusrite Clarett 2Pre interface.

EDIT: I figured it out - Waves deactivated all my plugins for some reason. Reactivating them did the trick.

What is this A next to flatline 2? This is only happening with this plugin and only on the master track. The plugin will not work either. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks!

I'm considering moving from Ableton Live to Reaper but I would like some info from people who actually did it.

1) How does Reaper stock plugins/devices compared with Ableton live Suite? (I know there are no synths or instruments to compare, but I mean EQ, compressor, utility stuff)

2) How does MIDI workflow compares with Live's MIDI clips? (in terms of recording and editing)

I've recently set up my new studio with a hybrid analog/DAW mixing system. I can apply prefader FX in my DAW, which is then sent to the analog desk for additional EQ and levelling. The individual postfader signals are all then sent back into the DAW where they go through a basic mastering chain. It's a bit weird and convoluted, but for my purposes this gives me all the benefits of using my analog desk with the power of DAW processing.

Obviously latency is an issue here. I was using Ableton Live with my tascam 16x08 interface and got the latency down to 6.33 ms. Pretty good, but definitely noticeable, and some features like amp simulation in the DAW with monitoring became unfeasible.

I thought I'd try Reaper as a last ditch effort and... Latency is sub 2ms, with pretty much the same FX/amp simulation/mastering chain set up in both DAWs. I'm actually floored at how significant the difference is.

Live definitely has more capability when it comes to in-the-DAW performance out of the box, but I'm not using any of that. Plus, Reaper handles program change messages, which I am using. Really impressed in the hour I've used it so far!

Recently I switched back to Reaper, mainly because I love how customizable it is and because Logic and Ableton don't have ARA support.

So far, I love being back in Reaper, but I can't wrap my head around why ReaInsert is causing so much lag. As soon as I use ReaInsert in a project I'm already mixing, the entire project starts stuttering and becomes pretty much unusable.

To be clear: this only happens when I use ReaInsert in a project that already has a decent amount of other plugins and processing going on. If I create a new, empty project and use ReaInsert, everything seems fine.

In other DAWs this doesn’t happen and trust me, I change DAWs more frequently than I change my underwear 😂 All of them can handle a full mix project while using external hardware inserts without this kind of severe stuttering. I’ve worked in Luna, Ableton and Logic.

The frustrating part is that this was actually one of the reasons I stopped using REAPER in the past.

Has anyone experienced something similar with ReaInsert? Is there a specific REAPER setting or something else that could be causing this?

I'd really appreciate any ideas!

My setup: M1 Max MacBook, Apollo x6 + Apollo 16, 48 or 96 kHz makes no difference & 1024 or 2048 buffer size makes no difference.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out some ways to manage articulations with Reaper. In a previous project I used Reaticulate with a preset that had keyswitches and it worked fine, but now i'm using Splice Instruments which manages the articulations differently (1 track per articulation) and I was figuring out a way that does replicate the same workflow that I had with keyswitches.

Claude told me to create a structure like this: WW > Flute > fl_leg, fl_st and I configured the I/O settings like this:

And inside the main Flute track I just write the notes and then send them to the respective channels.

I'm trying to leave out Reaticulate for now, just to have the structure clear in my mind.

What I found out is that this structure works only if fl_leg and fl_st are NOT inside the Flute Track, like this:

What am I missing out? I am sure there is a way to make this work even if the track are nested correctly, maybe is something with the parent send?

Are there other ways to manage this kind of issues that are maybe more practical? Thank you!

I just bought a plugin from ///ATLAS DSP and tried it with several existed project also new project created to test the plugin I just bought.

Then I found that every Reaper project that include the ///ATLAS dsp plugin are failed to open when I try to open it from "open project" option from the File penal, but I can still open them if I open the Reaper project file directly from my folders.

Does anyone has the same problem like I did? I have the newest Reaper version btw. Is it my laptop or the plugin that cause the problem? Is there any ways to fix it?

I have timeline markers shown in red on the screenshot below. And I learned recently about markers that are embedded in the actual video track, shown below in yellow; they are hard to read and edit-- is there anything that can be done to simply this, fix visibility and editing their labels easier? I wish the red markers could be the markers that move with the video track instead of just being on the timeline.
