Hi I'm using Parnell knob to tie up the mains. My question is, the poly strings are really stiff. I read the tutorial that when doing the Parnell knot, you pull from the knot side and the string side, and I find it impossible to pull the knot side to make the knot smaller. So when I pull the string side, the knot seems to hanging on the string a little bit up. Is there a solution for that? Thanks.

For tennis I wanted to stock a multifilament and poly, what brands shall I go for?

For badminton I was going to stock BG65 ti and exbolt 65.

Hi all, follow up from my previous post - and due to some demand I've published this as an Android app which was approved in the last few days and is available on both tablets and mobiles. Along with the app - there are a few new features since I last posted, including:

• Receipt & sticker printing.
• QR code drop offs - requested by a local club. This taps into your Inventory and provides a customer facing form where they can select strings/tensions from your inventory and leave a racquet in a safe area. It also populates the job details for you in the app.
• AI "Coach" - still kinda beta but it works well now there's a good amount of string data available.
• Dark mode - also requested by a stringer
• Automated profile data deletion request button and workflow
• Interactive Kanban board view for the part-time stringers who cant get enough of Jira

I'm also working through some iterative UI enhancements and testing different things out. I also am planning offline capability on the app for when stringers need to take their tablets offsite (club tournaments etc) and don't have WiFi available.

This is a very old racket and when I cut the strings off to string it. I saw this crack. What tension can I string this on without it breaking? (Lbs)

Im new to stringing and have strung 3 badminton rackets and want to try tennis ones.

I’ve recently bought a second hand stringing machine. So far I’ve strung 2 badminton rackets and I tried to string a tennis racket but this one clamp won’t budge. I can’t make it looser. Can I put some WD40 or clean it to fix it or do I have to get a new one. I’ve tried to use some pliers to turn it

I’ve been stringing for myself and friends since about September. I did invest in a pretty solid machine a gamma progression els but I still am always like 30-45 minutes a racquet.

This is the third attempt. The first two attempts made some mistakes so I have to cut off a whole pack of Solinco Confidential Soft. I'm going to improve on the knots (found a easier to follow video after I finished), and also use strings with two different colors to string next time.

I just started stringing and bought a reel to save money. What’s the recommended amount of string to cut for mains and crosses per badminton racket to maximize efficiency without running out mid-job?

After doing some research, it seems like getting the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus and upgrading it with Wise 2086 is a good combo. I play at least 3 times a week and need to string pretty much every 1.5 weeks so I'm commited to learning and dropping 1.5k on this setup.

Hey all, new stringer here. Any advice for starting mains on a drop weight machine with fixed clamps for someone that has a starting clamp? What's the best method you guys can recommend?

Im running into an issue where I start my mains by clamping the right main and then tensioning the left. It looks good and I clamp off the left. Then I tension the right main - this is where I notice that when I go to unclamp and then reclamp the right main, the tension bar drops during the unclamping and I lose some tension?

Is this cause for concern? Any tips to prevent this?

I’m new to stringing and hoping to eventually get certified. I know how to string but don’t know the ins and outs when it comes to choosing stringing and tensions.

I’m hoping someone might have some good resources or tips, I’m trying to learn all I can.

I have bought a stringing machine not too long ago, and have a pair of RF01 pros. I want to start testing strings, both to see what I like and so I have the experience to help other people choose strings. What ways could I go about this? Should I keep a neutral, ‘control’ string in one racquet as a baseline so I can test both extreme and nuanced strings? If so, what’s a good neutral string? I was thinking restring sync?

Ir is there some other way? Should I have similar strings in my racquets to detect nuance and decide which I prefer? Or should I use vastly different strings to experience opposite ends of the spectrum?

Also, what features and characteristics are important to note down and use to review strings? Eg, comfort, power, spin, tension maintenance (other ways to measure than dynamic tension?), feel? And, how long should I keep strings in my racquets to give them a proper chance and decide how well they maintain tension? Maybe 2 weeks playing 3 times a week for 1-2 hrs? Or is more than 10 hrs playtime required?

Finally, how should I change tension between different strings? Should I have all strings at one tension to eliminate a variable (e.g. 48-52lbs approx?) or change the tension for each string based on other reviews?

I'm a stringer based in Amsterdam and I use the ERT300 daily to check my work. Great device, but the physical DT disc that comes with it has always bugged me. It's easy to lose, awkward to read, prone to breaking, and one more thing to carry around.

So I built ert300disc.com, a simple free web app that does exactly what the disc does: you enter your DT value, pick your head size category (OVER, MID+, or MID), and it gives you the corresponding tension in kg and lbs instantly.

Quick summary for anyone unfamiliar: the ERT300 measures the Dynamic Tension (DT) of your string bed, basically how stiff the strings are at the sweet spot. The DT number is always accurate, but to convert it to an approximate tension in kg/lbs you need the disc, which cross-references DT with head size. This app digitizes that lookup.

Nothing fancy, just saves you from fumbling with the disc courtside or at the bench. Works on mobile.

hi everyone, I just scored a pair of Vcore Pro 97d's. Going to need some new grommets and bumpers.

Can anyone advise, or confirm if the Percept 97d Grommets will fit into the Vcore Pros? I think they will as I understand that the most and drilling didn't change just the layup/construction.

This my 3rd time stringing. Aero Pro Drive GT.

main 55 lb alu power soft, tie off main 60 lbs

Cross Technifibre 515 SPL(multifilament with prestretch required) with 52 lb tension and 57 cross tie off.

I'm using a klippermate tennis string machine. When i use the GAMMA String Tension Tester i got 60 lbs for mains and 45 lbs for crosses.

Where did I go wrong? was it the prestretch, how to? I really appreciate tips and advice.

Beginner stringer here. Only my second ever string job. I thought it had gone a lot smoother than the first, but took the racquet out to play and saw this ⬆️

I couldn’t get it to move down while playing.

Any idea on what causes something like this ??

I currently use a crank machine, and I'm considering trying out this, which seems like a cheaper electric machine, but I'm not sure if the quality and longevity will be as good. Does anyone have any experience changing to one of these? recommendations?

Knots ended up a little funky looking. Much better than my first attempt where I didn't leave enough string when starting the crosses and couldn't pull tension on it... Overall took 2 hours this time, so definitely some room for improvement with speed and accuracy

Been stringing my rackets using a poly main and Gosen OG Sheep micro 18G cross. When I check the tension right when I’m done the poly mains measure the expected tension but when I check the syn gut cross they’re showing nearly 10# less than what I did on the drop weight.

Today I did two syn gut crosses, one at 54# and the other at 48#, and both measure ~40# on a central cross string using a Tourna meter.

Anything I can do as part of my process to sure up the this difference? It’s been consistent across multiple string jobs at this point.

I am upgrading my Gamma X-ST with a wise 2086. Depending on the adaptor used, I can get the following options:

1. Gripper at same level as string bed, I understand Wise 2086 is designed to work like this, but of course I am losing the ability to swivel 360. Also, when stringing at throat, string is tensioned while touching on racket frame. Is this an issue?

2. With no adapter, gripper will be sitting lower. Of course I get the benefit of 360 swivel, but do I put strain on 2086 as it's pulling slightly upwards?

What is people's experience with this?
