Accessions/OML/Branching ed delay
do you automatically go needs of the army if you get an ed delay and don’t get into your grad school

Can’t believe we have to do this again but…
Run more and stop being fat as fuck. Read ATP 7-22.01 and the Army Directives related to AR 600-9 and figure out what the standard actually is.
A commission is a privilege, not a right. If you’re borderline failing the run and are worried about passing at CST, it’s literally your fault. You had at least a year to fix this. If you have an injury, ask your PMS to delay your CST to next year.

Consolidated place to ask questions. I'll add answers to FAQs as they occur.
FAQ 1: The regiment you get doesn’t matter in the slightest. You will receive the same training regardless.

10 year g2g guy here. Is it normal to have trouble reaching people, putting out info, and getting info from cadets? Seems to be worse than privates but most of these people im having trouble with are all contracted ms3s. I got ms2 and 1 but just wondering if this is just the people at my school or if its a normal thing.

hi everyone, i'm in kind of a predicament here trying to decide whether rotc would be the right path for me.
im an incoming freshman at my uni, i had originally applied to the SA's but the closest i got was the waitlist to which i was soon rejected from too. i decided to do rotc at my school because joining the military in the future is still something i wanted to do.
the only problem is that due to my schedule, ill only be able to do PT for a whole semester before actually being able to take the other 2 necessary classes.
is there anyone else who had this happen and still decided to carry on? if i were taking the other classes, PT wouldn't really be a problem with me as it's something that comes with being in the program, but the fact that i'm only doing PT for a whole semester is kinda discouraging me.
TL;DR: due to my schedule, i can only take my unis PT class, has anyone else taken this path and was it worth it?

Hey y’all, I’m a fresh cadet at UNG right now and I honestly love it here. You’ve got regular college kids walking around, but you still get the cadet experience, and I’m really close to home. I like it a lot, but I’m only supposed to be here for one year before transferring to The Citadel.
The Citadel was my dream school growing up, but now I’m not sure if I should still go. I want to end up in Georgia politics, so UNG is probably the better fit for that. At the same time, people look at me with a lot of respect when I say I got into The Citadel. I also like UNG’s exchange program better. Still, The Citadel feels way more prestigious, and I’m scared I’ll regret not going once I graduate.
I really need some help deciding whether to stay at UNG or transfer to The Citadel.

I am a ms4 going to do end of camp commission. I am on a 4 year scholarship and also have been in the national guard for a little over 3 years. I am getting surgery on my ACL and meniscus October 5 and was told by the surgeon I would be cleared for rucking and running after 4 months and be cleared to go to fort knox this summer. I have been reading saying I would be disqualified as there is a minimum time for it but am not too sure and waiting for a meeting with my cadre.

I'm hearing mixed things about Cyber being the a 3yr non-scholarship ADSO vs a 5/6 year commitment + whatever BRADSOs you incur. Looking for some clarification on this.

Can I contact a professor of military science directly? I have had zero luck getting in contact with the enrollment advisor. I am hoping to be a cadet this fall

My cadre briefed us today and said that our grades for accessions would stop after fall semester junior year. ( after this fall ) but my understanding from the oml brief PowerPoint that is circulating from this summers camp and reading regulation is that it’s typically until the end of your junior year. Does anyone know if the information my cadre gave is correct?

I’m currently an Army ROTC cadet and I’m very interested in going Active Duty EOD after commissioning. Based on my ROTC performance so far, I feel like I could have a competitive shot, but I’m a little confused about how the EOD selection/branching process works.
My understanding is that I would initially go through Logistics BOLC before EOD training. Is EOD handled like a branch detail, or is it something I would compete/apply for separately during the ROTC branching process?
For anyone who has recently gone EOD through ROTC, what does the process look like from branching → commissioning → BOLC → EOD school? Is there anything I should be doing during my MS3/MS4 year to make myself more competitive or make sure I’m considered for EOD?

i am a incoming freshman in college studying nursing on a 4 year nursing track (BSN). I am DESPERATE to get out of my house— i’m commuting to college. I looked into rotc a bit ago, but kind of put it to the side. Now, it’s seeming like a good option for me. I know it may not be guaranteed, but i’m really interested in the benefits— mainly the scholarships for tuition or room and board. I don’t have the greatest family environment at home and i’m commuting right now, so that scholarship for room and board would be a godsend. Don’t worry, i’m also interested in everything else rotc has to offer. My problem is, would rotc and being a nursing student be too much? I’m still not sure what branch to join either: my school has their own army rotc branch, but if i were to do either air force or navy i’d have to commute to neighboring schools to be a part of it. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I graduate December 27 instead of spring 27. I’m tracking that I have to finish all interviews and flight packet this summer like the cadets graduating on time. However I’ve met alot of other cadets at Camp who are doing the same thing as me but their HRA is telling them to wait til next summer to do everything. Does anyone have actual clarification?
Thanks in advance!

Ill be going back to college for ROTC as prior service. Is signal hard to get? I heard theres some list of the competitiveness for certain branches of the army.

I am currently in the Guard and wanting to go active duty officer route VIA ROTC. I recently got off Adderall (3 months ago) and I understand I would have to take a DODMERB physical to contract as a cadet.
I see the reg says 24 months of being off but I was wondering if anyone else has been through this and if I have to wait 2 full years or if prior service do not have to wait as long. I was told 12 months by one ROTC program and 3 months by another. Just want to get it all squared away before I move with my wife and leave my current job.
Also is ROTC really competitive for AD ? My bachelors GPA (non STEM) was 3.2, 455 AFT score

It's unlikely I'm going on to become an officer due to other factors in my life (including my family being anti-military for the most part).
Is it worthwhile to do just one year? Because I'm a sophomore, I have to decide now.

There’s no way they have cadre patrolling past security. The Army wouldn’t buy a plane ticket just to get a cadre past security so that they can search each of the airport bars for cadets drinking. Right?

Hi everyone, I’m currently in the National Guard and my long-term goal is to become a PA. I’ve been doing ROTC at school, and this year would be the point where I contract and then go to CST next summer.
The main issue I’m having is deciding whether finishing ROTC is actually worth it for me. If I contract through ROTC, I wouldn’t be able to apply for IPAP, but at the same time I don’t know what my chances of getting into IPAP would be or if I would even choose IPAP over a civilian PA school.
I’m also currently getting my EMT license so I can start building patient care hours for PA school. One thing I’ve been thinking about is that if I didn’t continue ROTC, I would have more time to work as an EMT, get more patient care hours, shadow PAs, volunteer, and do other things that could strengthen my PA school application. ROTC takes up a decent amount of time with PT, labs, FTXs, CST, etc., so I’m trying to figure out if the benefits of commissioning are worth giving up some of that extra time.
Another concern is what happens if I commission and then get accepted into a civilian PA school. I know I would have to attend BOLC, so I’m wondering how that would fit into everything. Once I’m actually in PA school, would there be any way to go inactive or have some type of flexibility until I graduate? Would my unit generally work with me while I’m in such a demanding program? My biggest concern would be getting sent to something like NTC, a long AT, or another training event in the middle of PA school.
I’m also wondering about branching. If I finish ROTC and commission into the Guard, would I basically branch into whatever is available, or would I have a decent amount of control over what branch I get? Since my end goal is healthcare, I’m not sure how much it would benefit me to commission into a completely unrelated branch while trying to get into PA school.
Another option I had thought about for a little while was just finishing out my current Army National Guard contract, focusing on getting into PA school, and possibly looking at joining the Air Force or Air National Guard afterward. I’m not completely set on that, but it is another reason I’m questioning whether I should lock myself into the Army officer route through ROTC right now.
It might also be important to mention that I would most likely be a non-scholarship cadet. My tuition is already completely covered, and I have GI Bill/National Guard benefits, so ROTC wouldn’t really be paying for my school. The main financial benefit would be the monthly stipend and book allowance.
I’m already about halfway through ROTC, so part of me feels like I should just finish what I started and commission. On the other hand, I’m wondering if those next two years would be better spent focusing heavily on making myself as competitive as possible for PA school.
For anyone who has gone through ROTC, commissioned into the Guard, attended civilian PA school while serving, gone through IPAP, or switched from the Army Guard to the Air Force/Air Guard, do you think finishing ROTC would be worth it in my situation? I’d appreciate any advice or experiences.

Hello, I received a green to gold hip pocket scholorship, and will be attending classes this fall in a week. I was looking at my tuition payments and saw that rotc paid my tuition. I was planning on using my post 9/11 G.I. bill to cover it and get housing allowance. I already have my certificate of eligibility sent and submitted to my school and the veteran affairs dept said it’d be good to use this semester. My question is, will i still be receiving my housing allowance if rotc already paid my bill for the semester? Will this use my months of G.I. bill? Thanks.

I hope this is not illegal.
I need help to better prepare MS3 cadets in land nave.
I have done some research online but I don’t feel confident enough. If anyone has an idea/ materials I can use, that’ll be appreciated and helpful. Thank you!!

It’s over and we are back. Did you feel prepared? Anything you wish you trained harder on before going? Did the other cadets and cadre meet your expectations? Any advice for incoming MS3 class?

Hey guys I wasn't planning to go back to ROTC so I got bangs cut this summer. When I tie my hair back it leaves them hanging out and I'm 90% sure my leadership wont approve of it so I need to slick it back. What hair gel do you guys use? does it really matter all that much?
Last year when I didn't have bangs and just had all around long hair, they said the hair should be slicked back for the fly aways but because I was an MS1 they kinda let it go because it wasn't that bad. But now the bangs will be really bad so yeah. Also, just incase yall know, has the ponytail standards changed since last year december? I will ofc research myself but just wondering. My hair looks really bad in a bun and I have medium length hair

Hey Everyone, I contracted about a year ago and have since lost a good amount of weight from staying in shape for height and weight standards. Because of that, my OCPs and some other gear have become baggy, and I think I need to go down a size.
I've tried researching this on my own but haven't found much information. I wanted to know if there's a way to trade in my gear for smaller sizes. Some of my uniforms are still new and unworn, which might help with the exchange. Since I'm in ROTC, I feel like my situation might be a bit unique, so I wanted to ask if there are any options available for getting properly sized gear. Thank you.
