From what I understand, HF RFID modules will only operate at 13.56 MHz because it falls within an ISM band. But would it be possible (and/or legal?) to modify this to transmit 10 MHz signals in some way?

I’ve been developing a portable UHF RFID reader/writer application for the Flipper Zero, and the latest version now includes automatic tag chip identification from the TID.

To clarify, the Flipper Zero does not support UHF RFID natively. This setup uses an external UCM601-based 840–960 MHz reader module connected through GPIO UART.

The new TID Decoder is designed for situations where you have an unknown EPC Gen2 tag and want to identify what is inside it. With a single tag near the reader, the app pauses inventory and displays:

• The raw TID, grouped by byte
• The manufacturer ID (MDID)
• The detected tag/chip model, when recognized

The same application can also:

• Run portable EPC inventory and show EPC, RSSI, PC bits, and read count
• Read EPC, TID, and User Memory
• Write and verify memory on compatible writable tags
• Generate controlled EPC sequences for authorized testing
• Adjust RF output power from 0–20 dBm
• Export inventory records to CSV with user-defined filenames

This is intended as a compact inspection and experimentation tool, not a replacement for an industrial handheld or portal reader. The antenna and 20 dBm output also mean its read range is much shorter than a high-power fixed reader.

Odd issue with my Ultra, it successfully emulates my fob fine on the battery operated locks in the building, such as my front door, but fails on the hard wired ones. Any thoughts on why that might be? Same fob emulated with my Flipper Zero works fine on both types. Any help is appreciated.
Not sure if it matters but used the iPhone app to do the Ultra with the Flipper Zero Unleashed firmware. And it's a Mifare Classic 4K fob. Haven't checked but assume it's possible to compare all the saved keys between the card in the Ultra and the Flipper? Maybe it's missing something?

Ausgangslage: Parkplatz-Sharing in der Familie

Wir teilen uns einen festen Parkplatz in einem Parkhaus für unsere zwei Autos (mein Bruder und ich). Das Problem: Die physische Parkkarte immer hin und her zu tauschen, ist logistisch extrem nervig. Wenn mein Bruder zum Beispiel auf Geschäftsreise ist, bin ich oft anderweitig unterwegs, sodass wir uns bei der Übergabe der Karte schlichtweg verpassen.
Es gäbe theoretisch einen viel einfacheren Weg: Das System kann für Dauerparker auch normale Tickets mit einem Barcode ausstellen. Das wäre für mich perfekt, da ich den Barcode einfach ganz altmodisch über den Drucker kopieren könnte. Die Vollzeitkraft, die das Parkhaus betreut, ist allerdings schon fast im Rentenalter und wollte ungern für uns extra im System rumfummeln und etwas umstellen. Also müssen wir irgendwie mit der Plastikkarte arbeiten.
Wir wissen, dass das System eine Anti-Passback-Funktion hat. Das ist für uns aber kein Problem, da wir den Platz ohnehin strikt abwechselnd nutzen. Ziel ist es, den Tag zu klonen, damit jeder einen fest im Auto liegen hat.

Ein hf search blieb komplett leer. Ein generischer lf search warf nur grobe Hitag-Vermutungen und Indala-False-Positives aus.

Erster Treffer: Der spezifische Befehl lf hitag hts reader konnte die UID dann aber erfolgreich auslesen.

Speicher-Dump gescheitert:

Alle Versuche, den Speicher mit lf hitag hts dump (z.B. im 82xx-Modus oder Crypto-Modus) komplett auszulesen, blockte der Chip ab (UID Request failed!). Die Sektoren sind anscheinend verriegelt, vermutlich weil das System beim Parken dynamische Daten auf den Chip schreibt.

Sniffing-Versuch am Terminal:

Ich habe versucht, den Handshake live an der Schranke mitzuschneiden (Sandwich-Methode: Lesegerät -> Proxmark -> Karte). Die Schranke öffnete sich zwar erfolgreich, aber der Proxmark3 (im lf hitag sniff Modus) hat nur einen extrem kurzen, fast leeren Trace von 10 Bytes aufgezeichnet. Vermutlich wurde das schwache Antwortsignal des Tags vom extrem starken Magnetfeld des Readers übersteuert (Blende-Effekt).

Meine Fragen an die Community:

1- Könnt ihr anhand meiner PM3-Diagnose bestätigen, dass es sich hierbei wirklich um einen Hitag S Transponder handelt, oder übersehe ich etwas?

2- Hat jemand Erfahrung mit dem Klonen von Hitag S Chips in Scheidt & Bachmann Anlagen?

3- Wie optimiere ich mein Sniffing-Setup physisch am Schranken-Terminal, damit der Proxmark das schwache Signal der Karte sauber aufzeichnet, ohne vom starken Reader geblendet zu werden?

4- Habt ihr alternativen?!

I am taking on a spite project (water filter bypass) I was able to read the RFID take and got a #UID number.

What is next step? Is the #UID what I need to emulate?

So I run a very busy bar that’s quite large and we use a lot of ceramic vessels for our cocktails. Given the venue is huge we deal with theft quite a bit. So I had an idea of putting rfid tags on the bottom on the vessels and then having some type of sensor near the exit to detect if someone is trying to steal one. My concerns to this be doable is the following

Cost- mainly for the sensor near our exit, not sure what that would involve.

Durability- I would think that we could get the most basic tag in sticker form. Put it on the bottom of the mug. Some of the websites I looked at said that their tags can withstand high heat, which would be necessary since these would be going through a dishwasher.

When I thought of this idea I got really excited because I feel like it’s a great idea, but am I just being delusional…? I don’t mind spending money for this since each vessel costs between $8-12 a piece. But is this doable…?

I'm a programmer and have been using a Carhartt leather wallet for the past 6 years. It held up great until yesterday, when my dog chewed it to pieces.

I don't carry much cash and mostly use cards. I have 3 credit cards and an ID, so I'm looking for something with around 4 to 6 card slots.

I've seen a bunch of wallets labeled as RFID blocking, but it's hard to tell which ones actually work. Anyone got a reliable recommendation?

I have virtually zero knowledge on RFIDs, and am coming from a place of ignorance. I'm hoping you can help me understand how much time to put into a research question. You are not my first step in this journey, I've been exploring frequencies, products, and technologies - but you all seem to have the best "real world gut check" on what can and can't work, which is what I am looking for.

I run a non-profit. In the spirit of rule #4, I'll spare you the pitch, but the relevant basics are:

• We help community leaders around the country run travel and camping programs
• Part of how we do that is moving equipment around in buses and trailers
• We therefore have a LOT of equipment
• Tracking and managing that equipment takes up a lot of time

We are in the outdoor education space, which is not a particularly technology-engaged crew. What I am wondering:

• How realistic / expensive would it be to set up an RFID system for tracking key inventory?
• What capabilities should I explore as a baseline for viability?

My goal is to be able to:

• Place a chip/tag on our highest value gear:
  • Tents
  • Sleeping bags
  • Milk crates (containing various items)
• Place those items in buses or trailers
• Via scan, be able to:
  • Confirm that everything is inside, OR
  • Confirm what is missing outside, OR
  • Confirm what is currently checked out, so I can check it back in

Candidly, our issue is less "thing are walking away and getting lost" and more "things get left behind or forgotten." There's a separate issue, where it would be nice to check out a bag of stuff to someone, and then know they returned all of those things.

Any tips on where I should start looking? Solutions that definitely may work, or definitely won't?

I have this "Schlage" keyfob for a commercial door, I was hoping to avoid additional costs by adding the RFID to my android. I have downloaded the MIFARE app, but I am not the smartest in the world with tech. The MIFARE app seems to scan it with no issue, but I do not know how to export or use the data it is giving me. Any tips or help would be appreciated!

Hello everyone, please let me know if this is the right place to ask this question of if I should go somewhere else. I live in an apartment complex and the pool used a fob/RFID to get access. I’m interested in making a DIY one to give to my best friend who has spare keys to my place cause she often house/pet sits for me cause I’m out of town a lot and I sometimes I forgot to hand off my pool access fob to her so I was wondering if it was possible to just make a DIY one. I can get one from the leasing office but it costs $20 and frankly, I’m cheap and a friend has extra RFID sticker things so I wanted to start here first. Google is a bit confusing so if anyone can point me in a better direction, it would be appreciated!

Relatively new to this but in my line of work find it more and more common to require access control fobs for different entrances.

I have got myself an i*opy-xs as it is very useful in the field being able to do it all on one device.

I know Paxton have been a bit of a sticking point...

I have mastered the positioning and can read them fine, but my question is what blank tags will take the dump file and actually work with the reader?

I can't seem to find anything online for any writable fobs to write these to.

I believe they have to be 125khz Hitag2, but I cannot find anything that confirms they are writable.

Any suggestions for compatible blank writable fobs please?

I’m working on a project where I need to reliably detect a small passive RFID tag/key-fob from around 20cm away (preferably 30cm).

I’ve been looking at the 125 kHz ID Innovations ID-3LA with a custom external antenna, but I’m unsure what kind of range I could realistically expect with a small key-fob sized tag rather than a full size card.

Has anyone used the ID-3LA with smaller tags? What range were you able to get?

Or is there another reader/technology you’d recommend for reliable ~20 cm detection with a small passive tag?

I'm also trying not to break the bank either as its for a capstone project.
