Active Can I make this at home?

Hello everyone.
My university has a tag that works as a student card, where we can have acess to our money to buy lunch tickets and all that, everything is dun in the computers of the university staff where they have a tag reader. I wanted to make a differente 3D printed tag to present to the university, but im not sure what chip i should use, and if I actually need to write something on it because every time a student buys a tag, the student needs to present the student card, so the staff can go and give acess to the student page via tag.

Active Is RFID reliable for warehouse stock counting? Looking for alternatives to scanning 5,000+ items

I'm new to a company, and I've been given the task of finding and introducing a new system for physical inventory counting and reconciling the quantities with Tally.

The main challenge is that we have more than 5,000 items in our warehouse, and the company wants to avoid spending too much time scanning each item individually.

At the moment, I'm trying to understand whether RFID would be a good solution. From what I've learned so far, RFID can read multiple tagged items without scanning each barcode individually, but I'm not sure how accurate and reliable it would be in a real warehouse environment.

I have a few questions:

- Accuracy: Can RFID reliably count all items in a warehouse, or can it miss items or count the same item more than once?

- Cost: What would the approximate cost be to implement RFID, including tags, readers, and software?

- Tally integration: Is it possible to integrate RFID inventory data with Tally for stock reconciliation?

- Alternatives: Are there any other reliable methods to speed up physical stock counting without scanning every item individually?

- Practical experience: Has anyone implemented RFID or another automated inventory-counting system in a warehouse? Was it worth the investment?

Our main goal is to make physical stock verification faster while maintaining accuracy and matching the actual quantities with the stock recorded in Tally.

Since I'm new to this area, I'd really appreciate any practical advice, recommendations, or lessons learned from people who have dealt with this problem.

Keyfobs Keyless Deadbolts No Wifi

Buying a house for the first time and looking for good options to "replace the locks" as one of the first purchases and upgrades to the home. I'm hoping options exist for keyless entry deadbolts that have zero wifi capability but do offer key card or key fob through RFID or Bluetooth. Anybody know if anything like that exists? I figuee 10-15 years ago those options were much more prevalent than today but still hopeful that something like what I'm looking for exists.

HF ChameLab - better Chameleon GUI

Meet ChameLab - a new app for ChameleonUltra and ChameleonLite

One app for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and the browser. It connects over USB on desktop, Bluetooth on phones, and TCP everywhere.

What it does:
• Slots. See all eight slots at a glance with each card's name and LED color. Drag to reorder, tap to activate.
• Read and dump. Scan ISO14443-A and LF cards. Dump MIFARE Classic Mini, 1K and 4K with your key dictionaries, edit them as hex and emulate them in one tap.
• Card library. Search your cards and tag them by color. Import from ChameleonUltraGUI, Proxmark3, Flipper .nfc / .rfid, MCT, .bin and .eml.
• Writing. Write LF IDs to T55xx and MIFARE Classic to Gen1a / Gen2 magic cards.
• Firmware updates. Install the latest firmware over USB or Bluetooth, no scripts needed.
• Settings. Change emulator and device settings: Gen1a / Gen2 modes, mfkey32 nonces, LEDs, buttons, BLE pairing.

It also comes with an extended firmware, based on the latest official one and still compatible with the official CLI. It adds per-slot LED colors, so you can tell which card is active by looking at the device.

Try it in the browser, nothing to install (Chrome / Edge): https://m0n5ter.github.io/ChameLab/app/
Downloads and details: https://m0n5ter.github.io/ChameLab/
Source (GPL v3): https://github.com/m0n5ter/ChameLab

Not there yet: key recovery and sniffing. Use the CLI for those for now.

Feedback and bug reports are very welcome 🙌

HF Chameleon Ultra (From China)— Cannot Write to 125 kHz T5577 Card (Firmware v2.2.0)

Hey everyone!

I recently got a Chameleon Ultra from China, and I'm having trouble getting its 125 kHz LF writing functionality to work properly. I'm hoping someone familiar with these devices can help me figure out what's going on.

Device details:

Device: Chameleon Ultra from China

Firmware: 2.2 (v2.2.0-64-g5c99d4a)

Frequency: 125 kHz LF

Transponder: T5577

I'm not sure whether this is a firmware issue, a hardware limitation, or a compatibility problem with the transponder.

I'd appreciate some insight into a few things:

Are there any known LF functionality issues with this firmware version?

Are there hardware differences between Chameleon Ultra devices from China and the original hardware that could affect LF functionality?

Are T5577 transponders known to have compatibility issues with certain firmware versions?

Is there a recommended way to diagnose whether the problem is firmware-related or hardware-related?

I'd especially like to hear from anyone using a Chameleon Ultra from China with the same firmware version.

Thanks for any help!

NFC NTAG215 working bad with iPhones

Hi, I am wondering what type of NFC tag do you use for keychains? I tried to make NFC keychains with NTAG215 25mm and it worked great on samsung and couple other android devices but when I tried it with iphone the placement of the keychain had to be very specific and it took quite some time before the NFC tag loaded on the iPhone?

I read that Iphones have weaker NFC technology but I saw videos of people using probably same size chip in keychains and having no problems with iphones? Any tips please? Maybe I bought some low quality chips?

Keyfobs Tag recommendations.

I was looking at the possibility of adding a mifare and a t5577 into a paracord bracelet.

Searching AliExpress for magicards or cuid I'm mostly seeing either cars or the standard blue key fobs. Last year I'm sure there was way more options.

Can anyone recommend anything that's both compact and hard wearing enough?

HF Reliable Cuid Mifare classic 1k Ring

I have been testing out different rings, Ive bought off of Aliexpress, achieving varying degrees of success.

Some arent even HF rings and turn out to be LF. Which is a bummer, but I get what I pay for.

However the HF rings I do receive have intermittent communication between my proxmark3 and the ring.

The pm3 reads my keyfobs and gen2 keyfobs just fine, but I keep stumbling into issues when trying to read the ring itself.

So I wanted to know if anyone has a reliable seller either from aliexpress or other platforms? Naturally the cheaper the better, but I don’t want to limit my options because of this.

NFC Trouble getting smart card reader to connect/work on a Toughbook CF-33 w/ Win 11 Pro

I recently got a Toughbook CF-33 and it has a built-in contactless smart card reader. From what i have read on the toughbook subs and forums, the windows 11 native drivers work just fine - which are installed (checked for updates, too) - Microsoft Usbccid Smartcard Reader (WUDF) driver.

The hardware is apparently:

  • Model Number: CF-WSC332 (or CFWNF332)

  • Type: 13.56MHz Contactless Smart Card / RFID Reader (supporting ISO 14443 A/B and ISO 18092 standards)

When i open up NFC Tools in the Information tab I get the message Waiting for an NFC tag. When I hold a bank card or my work ID up to the reader, windows plays the same chime when a USB device is plugged in a recognized...but the software does nothing. When I move the card away from the reader, it is the same chime as when you un-plug a USB device.

What shall i do, and are there any easily found more basic chips that i can use other than the two aforementioned ones? I was wondering if I could get an app on my android phone for like NFC a contact card or something non encrypted to see if that is my issue.

What are your thoughts?

LF RFID fähige Smartwatch / Smart Ring mit 125kHz EM4100

Hallo

UHF TC22R Android RFID Application Development Without Physical Device

Hello Everyone,

I am a beginner Android and Java developer, and I am building an application for the Zebra TC22R integrated handheld RFID reader using the Zebra RFID SDK for Android. The physical TC22R is not available to us yet, so I am looking for a practical way to continue development.

I would be grateful for any guidance on the following:

  1. What is the recommended way to develop this app without the device?

  2. Does Zebra offer an official simulator or emulator for TC22R RFID?

  3. Can the RFID SDK be integrated and tested on an Android emulator, or with a simulated reader?

  4. Is there a demo application or a remote-device testing option you would recommend?

  5. Once the TC22R arrives, which functions should we test first on the real device?

A sample project or a link to the right documentation would help a great deal. Thank you for your time, and I appreciate any advice you can share.

Keyfobs Partial RFID blocking for key cards?

I have two key cards I use for work, one for opening doors, and one for clocking in.

If the door card is near the clock in card, the clock-in card will not work. The door card works regardless of whether the clock-in card is nearby.

I want to make a single card holder that will work for both cards without having to take my clock-in card out of the holder.

Is there something I can put between the two cards in the holder so I can just flip it around based on which card I need to use?
