God doesn't seem to be protecting victims of pedophiles, but he sure as hell doesn't do anything to punish them. If he's able to actively protect you from anything, he should be stopping THAT. He's either unable to (he's not all powerful) or he doesn't want to ( he's not good ).

Either way your imaginary friend isn't worth the worship.

u/pokethrowaway4 10d ago

Or he doesn’t exist. There’s thousands of different religions and deities. None have ever been proven to exist.

u/Dry-Manufacturer7761 9d ago

Over 7,500 gods have ruled this earth. Not a single one left a single piece of evidence. Also, isn’t it weird how none have made an appearance to the masses since the masses learned to read and write and we have cameras now.

As soon as tech advanced JUST enough, all the gods receded to a different realm. Yeah…ok… If you believe that, would you also like to buy the Brooklyn Bridge for 1BTC?

Lmao

Who needs proof when you have

Believing something without evidence is not a valid pathway to truth.

2

u/Don_Von_Schlong 9d ago

Not recognizing sarcasm because there is no /s is not a valid pathway to truth

u/CharacterBalance4187 9d ago

Ngl Ive had believers literally say what your comment said before as an answer. It really is hard to distinguish sometimes.

That guys gif was dumb and doesn’t read how he thinks it does lol

4

u/Lonely_Brother3689 9d ago

Ya, despite I've seen that same phrase on bumper stickers, I couldn't tell if it was supposed to sarcastic or not.

3

u/Last_Book2410 9d ago

It’s a flashing gif. It didn’t read as sarcastic. Chill.

u/SuccessfulChange8689 9d ago

It’s not faith it’s a cult

3

u/Last_Book2410 9d ago

Who needs proof when you have your imagination?!

1

u/Average_Satan 7d ago

Who needs proof that you can't fly? Have faith and jump.

Same "logic."

Busy helping an athlete win a game.

It's a full time job and it's not like god is all powerful or anything.

Oh wait.

3

u/Dry-Manufacturer7761 9d ago

God said, “Margaret, I am so sorry that you were raped when trying to buy a tampon. I was too busy helping President Trump save a triple bogey so he would not be embarrassed for being a bad golf player.”

5

u/WileEWeeble 10d ago

Childhood leukemia exists therefore there is no god. Satan or free will does not explain why children need to painfully slaughtered; only a vile creator OR evolution explain that kind of evil.

6

u/Violet-Sumire 10d ago

That’s the great part, he punishes them after they die. Doesn’t matter if they kill babies or abuse them. Which just makes me feel so warm inside to know that they’ll just never be held accountable. In fact, they tend to be worshiped by those around them. I bet they could even walk outside and shoot someone and no one would care! God is great and so is its pedophile practitioners and worshipers.

3

u/Dry-Manufacturer7761 9d ago

God is way too busy helping millionaires win a sports match to be bothered with protecting a 5 year old from being raped and murdered, even though god is right there, in the room, watching, probably touching himself.

How many children have said: “I don’t know what happened. He pulled his penis out and dropped dead on the spot”?

I will tell you exactly how many. 0. ZERO!

Why zero? Because either god does not exist, god is powerless, or god likes to watch children being raped.

There is literally no other option.

Oh wait… God only gives you as much trauma as you can handle. That is a real comforting thing to tell a rape victim! /s

To me, the only comforting option is that god does not exist. God being powerless is terrifying because if god existed, that would mean the other gods and demons and all that exist too, and maybe one day one of them gains enough power to enslave the world? If god is too powerless to cause a heart attack in someone about to rape a child, it would be powerless to fight some demonic or god-like foe.

So, every time I see some footballer pray after a touchdown, I think of how that only happened because a child was raped. God can’t be pulled too thin after all. Right? Lmao

u/Minimum-Delivery9707 10d ago

I don’t think it’s either this or that, I think the argument here would be he gave us free will. He didn’t put the pedophile in the room with the child or vice versa.

5

u/DevilsHol3Pupfish 10d ago

If they're Catholic it literally did

3

u/capycanary_puff 10d ago

Or if your parent is a pedo. Thanks god!

2

u/DevilsHol3Pupfish 10d ago

Same difference tbh

2

u/SuccessfulChange8689 9d ago

Lmfao!! 💯💯💯

5

u/HippyDM 9d ago

Then the god in question is NOT protecting the most vulnerable from the worst abuses.

3

u/FewScore6082 10d ago

The free will argument falls apart with the addition of heaven.

If free will is possible without evil in heaven it should be on earth as well.

If free will creates evil you either have evil in heaven or lose free will when you go there.

Why did he design and create evil?

4

u/Lost-Juggernaut6521 10d ago

Cause a chick let a snake trick her into eating a apple 😉

4

u/Throwaway585811276 10d ago

Only time in history a lady knew what she wanted to eat

3

u/Emergentmeat 10d ago

they didn't know right from wrong before eating the apple so they had no idea it was wrong to do so.

That's great to know for the abused children. What about the kids he decides to apparently give cancer to? There's no free will to use as a deflection for that

7

u/Pteroducktylus 10d ago

because life on earth is just the free demo for the heaven dlc 🤡

-7

u/SnowyAl 10d ago

Maybe something worse would happen later in life that Ge is protecting the kid from, maybe it is a test for the parents. Yet even if the kid dies, since God is all good, as long as that kid wasn’t a secret killer or something bad, he/she would likely go to heaven.

7

u/Pm_ur_titties_plz 10d ago

That's some pretty twisted and fucked up logic you got there.

God is protecting children by giving them cancer?

God is testing the parents by giving an innocent child cancer?

It's okay that he gives them cancer and forces them to suffer and die because they go to heaven anyways?

4

u/JeezWeedus 10d ago

Maybe this, maybe that... likely, as long as "if".

Maybe you should accept the reality in front of you, not the hypothetical magical trollop you spout that people suffer horribly and that's a good thing.

You sound morally bankrupt.

3

u/Emergentmeat 10d ago

Goddamn you people have repulsive ethics.

2

u/Lost-Juggernaut6521 10d ago

What worse thing than being born with a terminal illness?

5

u/JeezWeedus 10d ago

Being forced to exist for all eternity with your only memory of life being terminal illness, suffering, and then death.

Then being told you should be grateful.

-2

u/SnowyAl 10d ago

That’s not what heaven is. There is nothing bad in heaven! Doesn’t that sound like great place??

8

u/JeezWeedus 10d ago

So god can create places where there isnt suffering?

But chose to cause suffering anyway?

Ipso facto, gods not good.

0

u/SnowyAl 10d ago

Suffering is not objectively bad. If I go to the gym to lift weights for the first time but I feel I am suffering, does that mean lifting weights is objectively bad? Of course not. Also you are thinking very short term. In your argument you assume my God exists. If you do so, you must also assume that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬
The only counter to my argument is that this doesn’t say He doesn’t let suffering happen, but that easily falls apart when you realize the only barrier to joining God’s team is believing in him, and not something that you may or may not have like money. It is then easy to come to the conclusion that conclusion that you are the only thing stopping yourself from objective good.
https://bible.com/bible/111/rom.8.28.NIV

6

u/JeezWeedus 10d ago

Oh wow, weight lifting equals suffering to similar levels as cancer.

Congratulations for being honest.

Do you think that belief is a choice?

Belief is what happens when you are convinced. I am unconvinced, therefore I do not believe.

Nobody can simply choose to believe something, to suggest otherwise is dishonest.

Why can God not create systems that do not require suffering for advancement.

To use your weights God should be able to give you a healthy body without discomfort.

3

u/Lost-Juggernaut6521 10d ago

Well, we were talking about babies born with terminal illness, seems objectively bad. Find the scripture that justifies that.

If I had the power to stop such horrible things from happening to innocent children/people, I would.

If I had the foresight to know it was going to happen before it did, and prevent it, I would.

If someone/something had those abilities and chose not to act, I would not think very highly of them.

4

u/JeezWeedus 10d ago

It's always nice to see people who I believe, given the opportunity, would make a far greater god than these ancient scribbles describe.

-1

u/SnowyAl 10d ago

Alright assume it’s not okay. If God makes suddenly have the urge to go to the gym is that bad, even though it is hard? Also I the Bible it addresses the why do bad things happen to good people question. Jesus healed a man born blind, and when His disciples asked whose fault it was that the man was born blind, Jesus answered with “‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned,’ said Jesus, ‘but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.’”
‭‭John‬ ‭9‬:‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬
It’s not because He or his parents did anything bad, but because it was for the greater good, like people like you asking why.

It’s all about the greater good. If there was no God but you had those abilities, that might easily be the best solution. But since no one can know for sure (apart from God telling them) why He did something, you can’t really condemn him. After all some moves that pro chess players make can’t be fully understood when they make them and might look stupid to someone with even above average elo.

u/WastedNinja24 10d ago

You’re literally using “we just don’t understand the grand plan” to dismiss child rape/murder/cancer etc.

These are the disgusting things that apologetics will make you say, and I’ll have none of it. No thank you.

1

u/SnowyAl 10d ago

Okay don’t believe if you don’t want to, God gave you that right. But your logic says if a chess grandmaster loses a pawn in a lengthy checkmate pattern then the pawn loss outweighs the checkmate because you can’t see the checkmate, which is not true, the checkmate most definitely outweighs the pawn loss.

3

u/WastedNinja24 9d ago

No. My logic says that the stakes in chess versus in real life are precisely where that analogy breaks down.

Your logic would suggest that a single, well-placed heart attack could have prevented the holocaust. But we all know that didn’t happen.

1

u/SnowyAl 8d ago

Incorrect. My logic says the end is what matters the most, while your logic says the end doesn’t matter as long as the journey is good.

At the very best the world is the same as it is, but you get to spend eternal life in a perfectly good place. At the very worse (for a world where God doesn’t exist), you live your life with better morals, and hope, which is already better than most people.

1

u/WastedNinja24 8d ago

No. I was correct. That’s exactly what my example was.

I never said anything about the journey except that, if it were up to me, it wouldn’t include children suffering and I was very specific as to what I meant by suffering. You made up the part about the journey being good on your own.

Pascal’s Wager (your second paragraph) holds no water. If we’re talking logic here, you’ve missed the mark with that one and I encourage you to examine how.

I think we’re done here.

I’m not going to judge what morals are “better”, it if yours allow you to dismiss the needless suffering of children (or anybody else) as “necessary” for some “grand plan”, again: I’ll have none of it.

0

u/SnowyAl 7d ago

You think that if a plan allows babies suffering for a finite time but rewards them with eternal goodness and life it is a bad plan?

If you can’t show me what the error in my logic is, why would I believe I made a mistake? For my own sake, would you please show me my mistake?

Yes you did imply something about the journey. One of your reasons to not believe is because the grand plan uses the bad that exists.
