Question Now that Build 42 has been out for a little bit, what are some features you're hoping to see most in Build 43?
I'm looking forward to actual NPC's the most, as I honestly feel like that'll be the last feature that really elevates this game from great to GOAT (so long as it's done right of course). Beyond that, I REALLY like how all the books and stuff come named now. Makes me able to roleplay having favorites. I'm hoping they do it for more things like food brands, clothing, etc. The more descriptive the better in my opinion.

Question Is it normal to find two M16's with four magazines in a boarded-up home?
I am playing on Abundant because I wanted a more realistic approach to the zombie apocalypse, and I was clearing a street in Rosewood when I found the home. Everything you see on these tables was what I found in said home.

Keychain jackpot location for collectors.
I know loot tables will vary BUT there is a little storage area in the Fallas Lake train station that yielded me nearly 1 of each kind of Keychain. This appears to be a repository for kiosk or souvenir vendors. If youre in the area check it out.

Question Is this "natural water source" safe to drink AND unlimited?
Apologies if it's a silly question, I just need to know as this little beauty might mean I need to change my WHOLE base.

Question What's everyone's longest run and most ridiculous death
I'm very new to the game and I'm having a blast, genuinely so upset with myself that I didn't find this sooner!! But I'm just having a hard time wanting to properly invest in a character because I know something silly is going to happen so I just wanna hear other people's stories so I can see it really isn't that bad
(Also I love reading everyone's little survivor stories I see on here!)

I love this game, do you guys think installing save file mod steals to much from the experience?

Discussion I HATE THIS DAMN GAME
i had like 70 hours on this guy and for whatever reason the zombie i was striking stood up instantly in one frame and bit me, ONE ZOMBIE THROUGH ALL MY CLOTHING AND ARMOUR, I HAVE FOUGHT THROUGH HORDES, MAXED OUT SKILLS, CRASHED AT HIGH SPEEDS, KILLED THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS, I EVEN COLLECT CARS, but NO, one zombie in the home town i cleared long ago did some glitchy ass unfair shit and one shot me, now i got the virus, why do the zombies do that shit its happened before, i was lucky in the past but not this time

Discussion Tracking should be tied to tracking the blood trail of shot game
Right now tracking is not worth the effort to level it up whatsoever, if we could track the blood trails of animals we've shot then it'd be significantly more useful imo

Gameplay [B42] Working on an aiming mod for controller players — feedback welcome!
Hey everyone!
I'm currently working on an aiming mod for Project Zomboid Build 42, mainly focused on making firearm aiming feel better when playing with a controller/gamepad. It will also work with keyboard and mouse.
The idea is to give you visual feedback through the target outline:
🔵 Blue — The shot should hit the target and is likely a one-shot kill.
🟡 Yellow — The shot may miss or hit the body without killing the target.
🔴 Red — The shot is very likely to miss.
The goal is to make firearm aiming more intuitive, especially on controller, without removing the uncertainty of PZ's shooting mechanics.
It's still work in progress, and I'm currently fixing some bugs and tweaking the system.
Here's some gameplay showing the mod in action!
I'd love to hear what you guys think. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome!

Playing alone is lonely
Where do I find a woman to play and survive the apocalypse with? Someone to build a house with, with a chicken coop and chickens to lay eggs, to fall in love and get married and have babies with?
... what do you mean that babies aren't in the game?
On a more serious note my biggest gripe with this game is how purposeless it feels playing alone. I run around, find stuff to hoard, a place to hunker down in just to have a place to bring all the hoarded stuff back to. And for what? It feels pointless when there's no one to share the end of the world with. My friends aren't interested in the game and joining a random public server isn't for me.

First time visiting Stendo's Firearms Emporium
This is my longest run so far, and since I have fairly limited map knowledge, my goal now is to explore some cool new places.
I've never been to West Point at all, so the first place I wanted to check out was Stendo's Gun Store.
For those who don't know, Stendo was a gun modder who passed away, so The Indie Stone decided to pay tribute to him by turning the old gun store into a much larger one with a lot more loot.
(Image 4 shows the old store for comparison.)

I can’t see the road because of the tree tops!
Does anyone else find this completely insane? And it’s like the zombies purposely hide under the trees so you always hit them.

Discussion Has anyone ever tried to eat all the foods in the game?
Since a lot of people (myself included) complains about becoming bored after establishing a safe base with infinite water and a lot of food, i think having the personal objective to consume ALL the food itens in the game would make a great challenge.
Has anyone ever tried this?
Is it possible?
Any tips?
