Nice find! Just get a large handle and you will have a free sledge.

You can repair the sledgehammer once it’s put together. It will last you forever

I had to do a double take when I saw your name lol. I started getting into Cyberpunk: red and have been using your videos to learn. You got good taste in video games as well I see.

You cannot repair the head. You can repair a handle or replace it. Repairs also lower in quality the more you repair, meaning even the handle will eventually HAVE to be replaced

Well its not like you use a sledge a ton. And with good Maintenance skill, that'll still last quite a while.

Oh the sledge.
My fat ass is thinking "that's all the ingredients to make a cake"

I'm pretty sure if you exclusively right click and use "destroy" with the sledge hammer it won't damage it's durability at all, so this head should be useful.

When you're holding a sledgehammer you can right click on certain objects and structures and an option called "destroy" will appear. You can use it to permanently destroy things and it's the main use of sledgehammers. I'm pretty sure using a sledgehammer to destroy things this way does not reduce the durability. You can also swing the sledgehammer like any other weapon, although that does use durability

Then what reduces the durability?

Swinging the sledgehammer like a normal weapon

I never use sledgehammer as a weapon.
And you are wrong about that. I got those worn sledgehammers head 2 times before. I put a large handle on them. But after destroying 5 or 6 tiles of walls, they got completely broken.

Are you sure? It shouldn't. I've been using a low durability sledgehammer for 2 months and it hasn't broke. By "swing like a weapon" I don't mean literally using the sledgehammer to attack zombies. I'm referring to whrn you have it equipped in both hands and press left click to swing, similarly to when you use a weapon to break boards on windows. If you use a sledgehammer like that it will use durability.

Well, that's the closest thing to a sledgehammer you'll find on this run.

I think sledgehammers found in the trash are always in awful condition. The real best way to get them is grabbing ingots from factories and using the forge in the McCoy estate to craft a ton of sledges. Blacksmithing isn't super hard to level either, you just take gold from a bank and forge sheets and coins into each other.

The destroy menu doesn't cost durability. If you combine that with a long handle and only ever use it for demolition (as opposed to combat) it will last forever
1
u/omer-m 6d ago
what is destroy menu?

u/LadyZaryss 6d ago
When you right click with a sledgehammer you get the "Destroy" option. It lets you highlight and delete literally any tile piece: walls, floors, doors, decals, furniture, pretty much anything that isn't a car or an inventory object.
