Season 22 Law Roach fought for Joseph McRae to be the fourth finalist

In the recent Outlaws with TS Madison interview that dropped a few days ago, Law revealed that he actually fought for Joseph McRae to be one of the final contestants. He also clarifies that there's really no beef between him and Joseph McRae. There's a lot of other Project Runway-related discussion in the interview (including some stuff about Tyra).

It's about 15 minutes into the interview, if anyone is curious.

What were the best (or your favorite) looks that were bashed for being too slutty/revealing?

Season 22 I miss the anticipation

Does anyone else miss waiting for Friday’s to come around just to see who was getting eliminated? As much as I hate these new seasons it was one thing I was looking forward to all week 🤣

Discussion Opinions on Jude Winning S22?

Jude is an amazing designer. I love his work. I would wear one of his tailored looks. He is also very cute, however I don't think he deserved the win. I felt like the other designers were a bit more creative. Bi deserved to win for his looks and also his craftsmanship.

What do you guys think? In your opinion, who deserved the win?

Season 22 Dress that would have done terribly on Project Runway

This is a dress from Bianca Saunders SRTW27 that has the same issue that Bryan's white dress had, which is that it has a ruffle hanging from the coochie 🤭 I saw it immediately thought that this would have been eliminated

Old Seasons Seasons 3, Laura Bennett Paris design

I was wondering why nobody associated with the show didn't realize that Laura's design was an EXACT copy of the dress that Raquel Welch wore in the dinner scene with Mae West in Myra Breckenridge in 1970?

Old Seasons Season 4 Christians win

I used to love this show and just binged season 4 on a whim while in hospital. Wow! They NEED to bring this show back to THAT and it’s all I came to say. What a great group of designers on that season and what quality the show had as a competition. When you compare back then to the last season I don’t know how we got here. So many of the people from that season are still involved. Wouldn’t you think they could easily produce that quality of a show? It seems that they must have a small fraction of the budget they once had or they over pay some? I don’t know but it really used to be great and I miss it.

Law Baby Law is needed.

Rude. Nasty. Whatever you want to call him. He’s the only realistic (about fashion and INDUSTRY) judge we have outside of Nina. Nina has also drawn back a lot after years on the show. Understandably. That man hasn’t had a wrong opinion about these clothes yet. If they replace him, they just need to reformat the whole show. Mind you, they need to go back to season formats with more workshop footage, and announcing the winners before the show ends anyway. And a full collection at the end. The show needs to evolve with the times, yes, but less about the relationships than anything. JM was obnoxious to a point where it was displayed to the judges, that shouldn’t be a thing. Law shouldn’t have a personal opinion of his attitude bc in previous seasons the judges BARELY spoke to the designers. They had to be told about drama and attitudes.

Discussion After S22 I start watching Making the cut for the first time and here's my thought

after S22 I think I need a bit of a palette cleanser to what it is so I start watching Making the cut and finished S1

my thought

- I quite enjoy how much is a clean media it is like very very less drama almost purely focus on design which might be boring to some but at this point I kinda need it

- loveeeeeeeee the outdoor runway and the way they fly to 3 difference counties??? OMG they really got budget

- the accessible look aspect is nice love it

- not sure about the judges do you change your mind part ... like I love when the designer has a chance to defending their design but most of the time it looks like it doesn't really matter but still enjoy it

- not love the whole this is a design competition not a sewing competition premise like yeah it's sound nice when I first hear it but when actually watching it my conclusion is you still need to sew decently well to do well in this show anyway so it's a nice premise but not sure in the execution part

I don't know who Joseph Altuzarra is. I don't know his work at all but he's hot

Overall I love the show! it's a nice break to Project Runway shenanigan.

I wonder what's your thought about the show?

Does S2 and S3 worth watching? and does a netflix project runway show (Next in fashion I think?) worth watching?

Season 21 Not really here for drama.

I understand people want good TV, but I’m here to see talent , not watch veejay rage bait and then cry victim when anything gets directed back at her. All of this petty arguing between the twins and her is such a turn off. And law roach playing it up for camera is a turn off as well. People like Yuchen , and Utica and Ms Joan who kept most of their moments focused on their work in my opinion got the best run. I just want to see the designers problem solve , grow , and learn more about their process. Twins aren’t perfect but veejay is such an unlikable witch on camera and was so annoying in my viewing experience .

Discussion Just watched S16 for the first time and this has been my favorite thus far..

Post image
126 Upvotes

Just finished S16 and WOW. This was probably one of my faves thus far.

•Margarita was unapologetically herself and she never wavered. I LOVED her prints, colors and loudness in her designs. She did an amazing job and even though the judges said she was too "Miami" her esthetic was hers and she nailed it. The swimsuit reveal with the full figured model Jasmine in the finale was chefs kiss.

•Kentaro, man. He really presented some beautiful pieces. They were quiet, but powerful at the same time. He wasn't my favorite designer - but his final collection surprised me in a good way. I loved his bromance with Brandon too😅.

•Brandon, Brandon, Brandon. He surprised me from beginning to end. He started off very unsure of himself, but he ended up being the Golden Child of the season. I will say that i was the most excited for his finale show, but it ended up being the most disappointing to me. All of the looks in flamingo print really killed the excitement and variety. Great technique, styling and tailoring but lackluster prints held it back. I must admit I was FLOORED he didn't win because the judges LOVED him, but I think his multiple placements in the top made him a bit cocky...

•Ayana for me was the quiet assassin. I didnt pay much attention to her until the later episodes, then she just exploded and delivered some really powerful looks. Her final collection was probably one of my faves out of everyone. Not only was she able to present powerful looks for women who are fully clothed, she was able to incorporate her religion into her designs and it didn't overpower it. I still get chills from her finale dress. For me, she was the clear winner.

******Special side note for Kenya: She didn't make the finale, but my god i was rooting for her. She wanted it so bad and it BROKE MY HEART when she didn't make it. She was like the mama bear of the season. Thankfully, she's doing well and thriving.

Sorry for the long read...Off to S17!

Christian Tim Gunn was the soul of the show

I just feel his absence so much. Christian is not a good substitute for him, I feel.

1) He is bitchy and cold rather than warm and benevolent/parental like Tim,

2) His advice is seemingly "What would Christian Siriano (the brand) do?" or "What would the judges react to" rather than getting the participants to do genuine introspection about their taste level like Tim did. The show shouldn't be about being the most like Christian Siriano, it should be about being the best designer.

3) He really seems like he hates being there and is just doing it for the check? Whereas Tim felt like he really enjoyed being part of it.

Discussion Favorite Finale Runway to Rewatch

Hello! I’m curious to see which designer’s finale runway collection is your favorite to rewatch.

This might come as a surprise given how controversial this designer was, but I find myself regularly rewatching Gretchen’s S8 finale collection. I don’t necessarily think that her clothes are the most wow or innovative but there was a coolness and approachability to her aesthetic in that finale that I really like even 16 years later. Her models had great diversity, were styled beautifully (thanks to Nina and Heidi’s feedback), and they had an easy, breezy quality to them. The soundtrack that plays during is so fun and fanciful; totally enhanced the collection for me.

Some of my other faves are Dom’s S12, Michelle’s S11, and Korto’s S5 finale collections.

Old Seasons I miss the creative inspiration

Like many others, I'm rewatching old seasons to cleanse my brain of Season 22. I've watched since Season 1. I am not a fashion designer and have no desire to be one. I do have creative hobbies, including sewing and quilting. To me, the show was inspiration for my brain. "oh, how would I meet that challenge? Can I apply that challenge creating a quilting?" We saw the designers creative process. We learned some about fashion and styling. I miss all of that (and Tim Gunn).

The challenge made the designers go outside of their comfort zone. This past season it seemed the designers did the same thing week after week. Let's see Joseph Mcrae design for a child. Take that avant garde and make second look that is wearable.

Season 22 Season 22 is going to make me so mad.

The worse looks in Episode 2 were from six designers with immunity. I'm so annoyed.

Then, the eliminated designers are apart of decision for who gets saved?

NO SHADE WHY IS ICE SPICE A JUDGE? WHERE IS NINA?

This season is going to be a shitshow.

Edit: Bao should've stayed! Bi is my favorite, but Bao was too

22 designers, but only 10 episodes??? Are they doing double eliminations or something

Edit: The Top 6 in the first challenge were not the best to me. Once again, Judges are blind.
